Hey whats up! Actually the smoke is only particles generated by bullet's impact on a object in the scene. You just need to put a smoke material on these particles and voila ; ) !!
But you can by the way try this with Fumefx and afterburn but this is not actually the same type of smoke that we've got here.. so it is not a good idea, the result will be ''weird'' lol .. i know it because i tried it ; )

be carefule because fumefx will be easy for this because its nice for thick smoke like cigarette or smoke for gun effect like in rayfire ..
but afterburn is better for Large smoke, gaseous explosions and big and dust clouds
