Jethro Tull, The Minstrel Looks Back 1969-1977 2DVD features concert footage from Tampa 1976, London Hippodrome 1977, Beat Club 1970 plus rare footage from Thick as a Brick/Passion Play tours more info available at Tommygunvideo please see our youtube channel for link/clips/more details
This is longer than the mp3 version I have! Does this sound so awesome because it really is one of the better Tull pieces from that era, or is it because we can't really have it? A clean version I mean? I love all those key changes - it just keeps climbing . . .
This is rare...I wonder why this peice wasn't included on the "NightCap" cd. Its part of the Chateau tapes....Although the sound quality isnt as good....Must be a boootleg copy...
Yup, originally on the Chateau recordings in 1973 which then turned into A Passion Play. Also I read somewhere that this connects with Skating Away. The beginning of this song sounds like the last sound you hear fade out at the end of Skating Away.

Does anyone know why there's an "error" message and it won't play?

By the way, my version is slightly longer, and the beginning crossfades into "No Rehearsal" (which is the last song on the 22 minute tape)

Has there ever been anyone with vocal qualities that could compare to Ian Anderson during this period?

Must confess I have never come across this track before. Excellent find. Was it recorded around the Passion Play album era? As you say 73?

It does. "Sailor" is part of a 22 minute studio tape, and before of it there's "Skating Away".
Good song, great melody, although it's quite clear unfortunately that is unfinished :(

This song was part of the Chateau D'saster tapes. TullTapes has it with the complete Chateau tapes.
Anyway... thanks for posting it again.
GREAT SONG. Too bad it's so short.
