I'm honestly not sure Paul becoming president in 2012 would be the best thing. Don't get me wrong, I love Paul and I think he would be the best president we've had in forever. But though I am sure he would do a ton of good things, he would still be unable to accomplish a lot of things because of a democrat and republican controlled congress, and because fixing everything in one term is impossible the american people would blame him for all of their problems and then he would lose popularity.

Social Security is not bankrupt. In fact, it continuously brings in billions more per years than it pays out, and has been accumulating a surplus since its inception. Its a conservative myth that their is a present SS crisis. Granted, down the road, the demographics will shift, and then a readjustment will be necessary. But its not broke.

Of course SS is broke. Broke in the sense that the SS trust fund has no money in it. As soon as the money comes in, the treasury issues an IOU to the trust fund and then takes the money to pay current SS recipients. You can find video right here on YouTube of congress debating this very issue on the house and senate floors. My father didn't get a COLA increase this year becuase there is not enough money. Educate yourself!
