  • All I really did was take the 2 user inputs (username & password) and verify if they match a record found in the account's table. In other words, no security involved. This was a database class project, so I had to keep the queues simple (except complex queues) to demonstrate in class.

From a security POV, don't do what I did. This was my first exposure to SQL and I had no opportunity to secure data transmission.

For timestamp, search "MySQL Date and Time Functions"

  • Hi. I have a question. You have the "Item Lookup" in a seperate window.. I was wondering how you have this window "communicate" with the other main grid.. did you just pass the Jtable to it as an argument?

  • nevermind.. that is what you did (passed it into constructor)! you are pretty advanced for someone that is just taking classes.

  • saw your CODE.....what does your "import domain.Employee" and "import sql_interaction.Item_sql;" mean?

  • @MrCelayne

Employees handles all the setters and getters and create an employee account. Basically it handles the employee login. The beginning of the video demonstrates that.

item_sql is one of the file that has the SQL code (in a separate folder called "sql_interaction"). This is what most people are asking for. It contains the search and add feature. I provided links in my video descriptions if you like to see the code.

I import those code so I can use them from another class.

  • @pannosk

No, but if there's a specific question about it, I may answer it.

  • @mlotfi2005

I posted a link (available at the bottom of the video description) to the source code for the particular .java file that has this incrementing add feature.
