i dont think this song is meant to be dark at all. i think it is a very sad song about that time when you are in a relationship and the other person wants out but for whatever reasons carries on but both of you know deep down that its over. no matter how hard you try you dont get anything back from that person, hence the being in the coma bit, and serious as he knows its all over, so so sad and so so beautifuly written and performed, :( and :)
