It is clearly a humbucker built into the top of the guitar; how can you describe that as "floating?"

it has liittle arms that mount onto the neck so no body routing is needed

O.K., I found a detailed picture at Hofner Heaven that gives a view underneath. But when you look at it straight on, the black ring with the adjusters looks like a typical mounting ring, that's why I asserted it was a top-mount - it doesn't look like a floater.

@urheadonastick Sure! He is John Stowell. He has been around for a while but he is kind of obscure I guess. He plays with a band called Scenes too. There are some great clips on yotuube. I hope you enjoy him! :)
