No dude Green Day was never writing songs about politics until American Idiot. The First was NOFX quite a long time ago during bush's first term. I think this new album is gonna be just like new level of their music.

Every their album is kinda different, I think it's great, that they make various songs, not all of them the same.

I've been their fan for last 15 years, I miss old green day too, but maybe it would be boring to listen the same kind of songs all the time. I think that the way they make music make them so amazing, popular and loved all over the world.
