@KingOfFreeWorld Sadly the T-6B Texan II needs LONG RUNWAYS; a STOL SAAB Supporter that can land anywhere and be ground-mobile in BATTLEBOXes would be better, but we'll take any manned O/A aircraft progress we can get!

Why not just use the JPATS? This is better than the MFI-17 in my opinion...

JPATS (T-6 Texan II) needs a long runway, MFI-17s don't.

Pakistan produces these aircraft indigenously, with its own version - the Super Mushahak. It can even carry a light load of weapons believe it or not.

I think Pakistan sold some to Iran a while back.

Lovely little plane!  Much more characterful and capable than other types such as the UK Firefly. Saab may not have anything more to do with it but in Pakistan it continues to thrive! Long live it!!!

YES, we are sure. Want to sell us some MFI-17s? Imagine how much better a MFI-17 O/A with a pilot/observer that can see/investigate would be than a Predator UAV that just pipes back video to a TV screen. We could send back video on top of having men on the scene ready to act.
