  • Ha, ha..I feel like I'm so close it's going to splatter me in the face :) !!!

  • The armadillo pot looks amazing.

  • Hi Simon, Thank you sooo much for all your videos, you are so full of passion and energy (and competence of course) that it just pulls you up in moments of despair! After watching your moves on the wheel so many times, I can actually "see" your hands while I'm on my wheel...it works!

    Best

  • Simon, it's nice to see how you repair things. We all ding and bang pieces so this was a big help. Thanks!!

Warm wishes from Debie in Florida

  • Rather look like Pineapples to me. Have issues here in Georgia with Armadillos- tear up everything!! LOVE seeing mistakes resolved. Your tips like that have saved a few pots that otherwise would have landed in the bucket. Sometimes letting it evolve turns into something more special. Have to look at it like that, Hey!

Miss the water in the background.

    Best.

  • Great example of how to make a gallery. Thanks.

  • Oh man I know how that feels. I was making some two piece bird houses the other day, and manages to break the lid on one as I was joining the pieces together.

Speaking of breaking. Do you ever have an issue with the two piece goblets you make coming apart in the kiln? Happened to me in the bisque firing when I made a few challis style cups.

  • haha your gonna be weak when you get back on the treadle wheel ;) i cant wait to try these little lidded boxes thanks for the video

  • If they all were perfectly identical, they would be factory-made and boring.

  • Thanks SImon, maybe now I can save more pots! ;-) Hope you show us when your trimming them, getting them together correctly is my problem, well one of my many problems LOL;-) What are the measurements roughly 5" or 6" ? Say HI! to Jen for me;-) Take care ~ Karen

  • Hey Simon, don't get so down on yourself. I'm sorry about your pot, it's a bummer when something like that happens but it gave you a chance to show us how to soften it up and fix it. I used to tell my daughter when she was a kid that if you "think like an artist" every little mistake turns into another kind of art than the one you originally intended.

Have a glass of wine & it's all good:)

  • Good video. I have to keep working on making cylinders still.

  • Oh Simon - you really should take your pots off the shelf far more carefully! You're like a bull in a china shop! Sorry - I couldn't resist!

Glad to see you looking so well - I see you've already adopted a baseball cap - very nice! A good look!

    Take care Mr Leach.

    All the best

    James and Samantha

  • A Penn State Nittany Lion hat no less, lol.

    Hi James and Samantha,

I've heard so much about you from Simon.

Hope to meet you in the near future.

    Best,

    Jennifer

  • Hi Jennifer,

I hope all that you have heard is good! It would be very nice to meet you too. I am sure we will in the future.

    All the best.

    James

  • Thanks from Australia Simon - love watching your videos and always enjoy your tips! I'm back to the wheel to practice cylinders!
