Maybe not physically, but humans are simply the dominate species on Earth at this particular time. Natural selection will eventually allow another life form to rise above the level of humans and make humans simply the "animal" here on Earth. May even be of alien form, you just don't know. The only problem? They forgot to define the "I" before they began. That is, unless you accept the scientific belief it's in the brain - which is very weak. The brain may be only what amounts to a receiver - thoughts & ideas may not be stored there at all, but rather properties of or something that propagates through the space all around. That being the case - there is no "I," just a functioning brain that's immortal. What a sad joke - on us - a ridiculously expensive one. Who is funding this?
