Oh just so you know, Panama has its share of negatives. But it offers a much better quality of life than the U.S. IMO. Don't get me wrong, it's not for everyone. But if you have some capital saved up take your money and run.
There are laws here that prohibit hording gold and out-sourcing liquid capital and assets to foreign banks. People who don't already have money and investments in other nations are pretty much out of luck. Taking the money and running is not a viable option. It is up to each citizen to make their way the best as possible during this difficult time.
What laws prevent out-sourcing capital to foreign banks? I heard Obama was going after that to require approval (once again another permission), and IMO that will be equivalent to the Berlin wall. If you can't get your money out then you are stuck.
SSGKV, military presence by outsiders is never welcomed anywhere. Now that US military is gone (for the most part), Panama is a much better place to live. Please don't even compare to USA. Your ivory towers are built from a giant ponzi scheme about ready to crash down. Why are so many of you Americans taking anti-depressant drugs? Why so many broken dysfunctional families? Why so many homeless? Why so much obesity and health problems? Why the unwarranted arrogance?
de QUE CARAJOS HABLAS YO SOY DE PANAMA well that show u that im from Panama right? i was borned in chorrera and lived there for 16 years (2 years i ago i moved to US cuz i faking got robbed at my own house twice, and also in albrook mall) u cant deny that the security sux big!!! why do you think im saying that panama sux? cuz im from there nub!!
You need to live in a nicer area of Panama and you will be safe. Chorrera does not represent Panama and is certainly not that nice. If you live in a U.S. ghetto, you will be robbed too and probably killed because they enjoy killing people. I moved to Panama because U.S. is not safe. You have to lock your doors at night and kids cannot play outside without supervision. You can be mugged anywhere in the U.S. I live in a gringo area of Panama which is fairly nice and safe.
It's only nice because you live in the 'gringo' area that is supported by American dollars. You slam the US in many of your comments, but then validate how 'safe' it is in your area, because of gringo foreigners. You may be right about the future of the US, but more than half of the nation owns at least 2 weapons, so defending ourselves will not be a problem. Only a small percentage lives in the 'ghetto.' As for Panama, I was only telling of my own experience while there, and crime is an issue.
You forgot about Aussie, Canadian, UK, Panamanian Jews along with Americans that make up the gringo areas. Regarding crime it depends on where you are, when you are and how you compose yourself no different than U.S. I lived in upper middle class U.S. suburbia and had all my cars broken into and home ransacked. It happens everywhere. Random violent crime is much more prevalent in U.S. Most Panama crime is highly targeted, staked out inside jobs.
Aussie, Canadian, UK, and Panamanian Jews make up a majority of whites within 'gringo areas' in Panama. Are you implying that white neighborhoods are safer? That's how your statement appears. Random crimes are not more prevalent in the US, it simply appears to happen more (proportionately) because we have more than ten times your population. Would I ever visit Panama again? You bet! Like I said, crime is bad, but I don't think it's bad enough to keep me from visiting again.
Gringos are still a small minority in many of the "gringo areas". Panamanians and other Latins still make up 80% of the home buyers in gringo areas. It's more related to economic class than race. Regarding safety, crime is less rampant in nicer areas because less people need to steal there. However outsiders come in and target certain victims, but it's not that common. In lower class areas, more people are open to stealing and you see a lot more crime almost daily.
Also be careful in the U.S. because a lot of people are losing their jobs and there will be chaos and food riots to come. Imagine having millions of starving inner city savages. You think you are safe in the burbs?
Americans do not enjoy killing people. Your generalizations are inappropriate to law-abiding Americans. However, we will tke life when we must. Advice? Avoid robbing the average American, the outcome will not be pleasant. The 2nd Amendment will ensure freedom when it is threatened. Ii've been to Chorrera, and it is worse than most American ghetto's, having been born in south Chicago, myself. However, I felt safer in Chorrera than in downtown Panama City, where I witnessed dozens of crimes.
American criminals do have a penchant for shooting their victims or stabbing them to death even if it's just a robbery. You have more violent criminals who do enjoy killing people. I wasn't referring to the general population.
Dead people can't identify you, sue you, or get even with you...that is why they choose to kill, not because our society 'enjoys' it. Statistically, we have more violent crimes because we have more people. Proportionately, we have less violent crimes per capita than almost every other nation. Please do some research before you speak negatively about the US. Even in combat situations, we do not enjoy killing people, but we do what we must to keep enemies fighting elsewhere, and not within the US.
Other than Panama City, I had a great time in Panama and found it to be a beautiful country. It was the locals who made it difficult to bear. Be careful in your assumptions about the US, we support your economy. If the US/world eonomy fails, Panama also fails. I admit that family values in America is suffering. Less than 1% are homeless. More than 50% own their homes. Panama is isn't better because the US is gone. We ousted your drug lord and kept watch over your families and you're still angry?
The U.S. economy has failed since Dec. 2007 and is in a free fall. The world economy is also failing. Panama saw a 9% GDP growth in 2008 and is projected to be 5% in 2009. The U.S. has been and is fast becoming irrelevant to the world. All your manufacturing is gone already. The dollar will be devalued to nothing. Life goes on without the U.S. along with it's giant ponzi scheme.
The economy is suffering as a result of poor government spending, plain and simple. It has nothing to do with individual citizens' spending. When your nation's only hear the bad news, it's no wonder you have a negative opinion of the US. Lest we forget that most of the world's population still wants to be part of the US. Again, Panama is a nice country, (to visit) but until they learn to police themselves, it's not going to get much better with regard to safety. I've been there, I've seen it.
Funny how you have it reversed. U.S. media is the biggest propaganda machine in the world. Ask any American on the street what they think of Panama, they will think drug lords and that's about it. They probably have no clue the canal is there. I know America because I lived there all my life and then woke up to the reality of things and left. It's economic slavery cradle to grave. Permission based society now (was not before). It may appeal to some people, but not me.
I agree. The US Main-Stream-Media is the larges propaganda machine in the world....since Nazi Germany. But that doesn't mean that other nations aren't spin-doctoring information, and omitting anything positive regarding the US. We all know it happens. We are becoming a socialist nation, the citizens are beginning to take notice, and are prepared to defend freedom. It will be a long 4 years, and the government is acting more as a dictatorship rather than a voice of the people.
All nations spin doctor info. They have to to control their people. What is startling is in America there seems to be more blind trust versus other countries. Maybe it's complacency or just a superiority arrogance. Very dangerous.
I think it's ignorance rather than arrogance. Speaking generally, most Americans do not support what is happening in US politics. People blindly trusted and voted for the 'hope' that something would change. However, there is good change and bad change. Change for the sake of change, is never a good thing. We needed changes in action, not in policy. Now we have a rookie at the helm, and I believe that the outcome will cost many people their lives before this is completed. The world is watching.
The drug lord you are referring to was ousted because he would not play ball with the CIA who happens to be the biggest drug cartel in the world. It had nothing to do with helping Panamanians.
You need to study the history of the CIA. I hope you are aware of all the false flag government sponsored terrorist attacks that have happened over the last century. If not, then there is no need to go further with this discussion.
"More than 50% own their homes. " - nope. The banks own the vast majority of your homes and cars. That's what got you into this financial mess. 1 out of every 100 persons is living on the streets in the U.S. That's not a statistic to be proud of. What's your divorce rate? Your obesity rate? Your disease rate? Your anti-depressant pill sales rate? A lot of people have left the sinking ship and are glad they did.
Your facts are mistaken, as it's obvious your media outlets are inaccurate and false. Over 50% of all eligible Americans already own their homes. About 20% rent, and the remaining 30% are trying to pay-off their homes. Almost half of that purchasing 30% are behind on their homes or are in foreclosre. It is that negative propaganda that is being broadcast throughout the world. What people fail to realize is that he average American has a job and can actually buy a home. Unemployment is only 7%.
1 out of every 100? Perhaps, but not likely. And that should tell the world something aout the US,.the truth is that even the homeless want to stay here! If you had nothing and were given the freedom to choose a nation, you would pick the US as well. Obesity? We have the freedom to and resources to choose. Disease rate? We lead the world in medical advancement, silly. Depression? Not any more prevalent than other nations. The ship may sink, but the people will swim. It's not the 1st time for us.
Have to disagree with you about the homeless. Where are they going to go? They have no choice but to stay. NO NO NO I would not pick the U.S. It ranks near my bottom. Medical advancement to make money from people who get diseases from eating FDA approved toxins. Wrong about depression. Americans have a serious problem there. Something is terribly wrong with your society. The people who can't swim will drown. Not the first time and not the last.
The middle-class manufacturing base is gone, thanks to Clinton's NAFTA, which made it less costly for companies to outsource to other nations by making it 'free' to import their own products, and pay less then $1. per hour to produce somewhere else. The new President just keeps printing money to offset his 'spending spree', further devaluating the dollar. Most Americans know that you cannot get out of debt by spending more. Our sorry Democratic liberal politicians have ruined the economy.
You are 100% right about all that. But did you considered why all this is happening? The Dem/Rep, Left/Right politics is a smoke screen to mask the real culprits. Have you seen the trend of banking consolidation leading to global governance by the central banks? They control both parties and use them to fool the public into thinking they have a choice and power when in reality both parties are puppets to the global bankers and oligarchs.
The political divide is a huge problem. The agenda of One World Government has been a goal for a long time. It will probably start with the North American Union, similar to the EU. Then the two unions will merge, etc. You get the idea. Whatever happens, something drastic is coming and it will affect us all. The government has already made moves to invest and control the housing market, remaining manufacturing base, medical, and so on. They are making the people dependent on government. Sad.
What is really sad is all of this is happening out in the open and yet the majority of people still don't believe it's happening. They sense something is wrong, but fall short of realizing they are being completely taken over.
Panama is a great country with a lot of opportunities for growth. There are negatives though. Panama City is no good. Air quality and traffic are bad. But the interior is beautiful, air is clean and land is plentiful. People are generally nice and hospitable. You have more freedom and cost of living is much lower than USA. A lot less pressure and stress from the rat race.
Nice Vid. I enjoyed it. We market properties and other things on youtube, we hope to create a large network of people interested in making money. Your video gets a five star rating from us. I hope you feel the same about ours.
It's a great place to visit - in groups. The 'zonies' (people who live just outside of town and are 1/2 American or have been around Americans most of their lives - from when the military inhabited a large area outside of Panama City) are generally nice people, but the poverty there creates contempt against Americans. All Americans are viewed as 'rich people' and are frequently targeted. Make sure that if you are considering retirement there, you do your homework and research.
I served in Panama when we still had installations there. The golfing was nice over on the Air Force side, and the skyline view of Panama City was breathtaking. However, in the city itself, crime was rampant. The citizenry was hostile toward Americans. All hours you could hear "F-U gringo", and "go home gringo." A female friend once asked for change of $20, and was mugged. In a nation where $1 per hour is the going wage, it's a calculated risk if you want to chase the American dream there.
My name is Kent Davis and I sell real estate in Panama. This report is a bit outdated, but there are still some great deals out there. Look me up, and I can help you with whatever you are looking for.
The good thing about Panama is that despite our love for verbal fighting, we aren´t a violent country. We never had a war, nor hurricanes, nor natural disasters, something very few countries can brag about. Unlike our neighbors, we are very "tranquilo". The USA Canal gave us several advantages with the Canal and the ability to compete worldwide. But our biggest advantage is our diversity: socially, ecologically, geography. In this world of chaos, it is a refreshing country to be from and visit.
IM FROM PANAMA believe it sux the crime there its worst than a u can imagine, i had been robbed 3 times there, and inside my house, at night, dont ever come to panama, even stores sux, there is nothing interesting there, soooo boring, and its hard to get a job (ull get 500 bucks starting..), so i moved to US and i like it better... if ur white ull be the main target of the piedreros (bad pplz XD)
PANAMA SUCK just go there for one day.. there are not big malls , only Albrook mall and multicentro.. the best city to live MY ASS. u gonna argue with someone that borned there and lived for 17 years? the crime there is madness. all the pplz that i know wanted to move to other countries.
I visited there while serving in the military, and love the country...but you're right about the crime. And you are right, whites and Americans are targeted.
Amigo Yo fui de visita y sali corriendo por lo feo y triste que es NJ y NY. Todo es viejo y sucio. Yo se que te cuesta enterder que hay personas que viajan.

My girlfriend is from Panama and she say's that the Americans are driving up prices so they can't even afford to buy property there anymore. They are arrogant, pushy and demanding. They even demanded that they cancel their annual celebration complaining of the "noise." The ugly American invades Panama. They're pretty upset about it.
I am looking forward to visiting your beautiful country and possibly moving there in the near future. I was dismayed to see the vulgarity that some people choose to display in these posts. It never fails that ignorant, rude people end up posting in these forums. If you have a different opinion, you can always state it intelligently and with class. I was born in Cuba and wish the Americans had "invaded" my island and not let it rot to what it is today.

My husband is Panamanian, I have been to Panama going on four times now. We are only in our early and mid thirties, and are planning to move our family there within the next three years. It is a big adjustment to live in a new country and new culture, but the lifestyle is so much more relaxed than here in the US, I can actually stay at home for my children in Panama (and live nicely) with only my husband's pay. We struggle to make ends meet with two decent incomes in the US!
la glase media baja nopuede llegar a eso lugares por que el sueldo no les da ,estan haciendo o vendiendo el pais para americanos y los narcotraficantes colombianos que se estan apoderando de panama ..o quiere una segunda independencia con colombia
Thatá good, the problem is when this retire person they don´t like to follow Panamanian laws, and they don´t want to live togheter and they don´t accept the new culture and costum.
I prefer American people because the other options is are Co, Ve, and europeos que estan mas locos, the gringos dont batter anybody for other way he recognize the hand labor and is fine for all panamenian whos/we have the oportunities to make a job in sales real state, design or remodeling.
in restaurant, bar is other history is more spensive now, but gringos is not guity for that situation. everybody wants to come to Panama. that is the true si no pregunten a mel que ya compro. Viva Panamá
This is an absolutely great idea. As a retired Realtor living in South Florida, the real estate values in Panama are a bargain. I am going to check it out.
Thanks for the vid!! I just left my family there recently. Now I know why there is so much development there now!! Maybe in 7yrs I'll live there. We'll see...
its cool that american retirees are choosing our country for retirement, but i have to be honest that fact is making the cost of life for the panamanians higher than ever.
what i totally disaproved the the uncontrolled venezuelan and colombiam migration to our country. that is not right
i wish in the near future our middle class can afford to buy villas and condos on the beach as the american and canadian do!
we have to make a comon front against the venezuela migration to panama
Escuse me... The U.S helped Panama? Explain to me how the U.S. help Panama? There are areas in Panama that were detroyed because a U.S intervention. The U.S. does not help Panama. They only care about what can take from there. They do not care about Panama, or the Panamanian people!!!
Si no fuera por los gringos el gobierno de panama posiblemente estaria como CUBA !!
bajo la mano de Noriega!! Do you want that?
Hell no!! I'm glad american's give us a change to proof we are in top of the game. Mi Pais es bello!! I leave in TX ,, And I will retired also in my owen country!! Viva Panma!!!
You are right for the most part; Panama would most likely be horrible today if it weren't for the intervention by the U.S! But many of my fellow Panamanians are, unfortunately, biased and proud--yet not caring or patriotic enough to take power themselves to make the country better. Of course, not all of us are the same, but people should be more aware and informed to realize how the U.S. has helped and continues to help Panama.
odio ver panama llenos de gringos ia toy astiaaa de ver eso!!
me enojaa!!!
hasta cuando..
uno va alla y le dicen cuanto uno no se imagina .. entoncs nos aguantamos a esos. para que.. construyan todos esos edificios q nisiquiera stan habitados!!
all of that is a shiet!!!!
costruyen nuestro pais para ellos o para los panameños?
Hell no!! I'm glad american's give us a change to proof we are in top of the game. Mi Pais es bello!! And I will retired also in my owen country!! Viva Panma!!!
excelente comentario..
I don't blame these people why they are taking that chance. No one is going to look out for you if it's not yourself. The government sure ain't. The damn housing market it's full of shit there is no way in my life I can afford to purchase a house.
I live in the U.S. but sometimes it gets me upset how things are run. Wake up you government and start doing your job that's why I pay my taxes!!!
Proud Panamenian!! I welcome all the american to visit or stay in Panama. If the US has open doors to so many panamenians , why can we do the same. I don't see what the problem is regardless of the 1989 invasion. Ive'd never heard any panamenians I know complaint about american presence in the country and in fact a lot of the people in panama have friends and family in the US and it would be very ignorant to think that way.
proudpanamanian- you need americans to support your piss-hole country! you're economy's shit; your government is unstable; heck i don't know why anyone would want to retire there???
dashocka1....I am not sure where you are getting your information....the only feces I smell is the United States housing market that is dragging the rest of the economy into the crapper. You have an expensive ass war going on and a monkey in the white house. Dude you can't afford a house in Florida anymore with your lame ass job....that's why you want to retire in Panama.
I wouldn't recommend trying to adopt children from Panama, unless you have alot of patience. However I been there 4 times in two years in 2002 and 2003, and absolutely fell in love with the counrty. I miss the culture, the food, how far the $ goes. Oh by the way the Panamian women are pretty as can be. I would definately consider retirement there.
pinche panama...us gringo mess everything you say? well then take then hint and get out of your beloved "country" while you can, and you will remember it when it was glorious. You welcome for the canal by the way
USA is the best country, first she bombed you and thay say it's for peac, usa is doing a favore to contry she bomb,i didn't now that people in world like so much to be bombed, and on the and she is making a paradise for her people and making homepeople a slaves in homecountry, interesting very interesting.Very peacfull
I've spent alot of time in Costa Rica and what you've written is utterly absurd from my perspective. I'm afraid miserable gringos like you are giving the rest of us a bad name.
Yes to your retired question. Yes to the bad Karma, your right. Yes to miserable, I've always been miserable. No to gringo. The bad name you gringos have is in every country in the world, not just central america and it's because of your ugly attitudes. Open your eyes man, read the paper, come out from behind the bars and look around. I know this type of talk is not good for real estate sales, to bad you'll here more of it. I hope all americans retire in Costa Rica. Pura Vida
Panama? You have to be kidding. Traffic in city that is worse than rush hour in NYC. You can't walk down Balboa Ave without gagging from the smell of the raw sewage. Punta Pacifica with all those high rises? There is ONE little street in and out of there that is a constant traffic jam and getting worse by the week. The once tranquil towns in the interior have all be ruined by EXPATS. Please do Panama a favor and just stay home.
Thanks to Bush americans are hated even by its allies. I live in Canada and i travel, i have seen it.

Please open your eyes, Panama compare with the corrupt banks in USA is not corrupt. And Panama is 100 times safer than NY, LA, Miami.
illegals come to Panama because the economy is growing and NOT IN RECESSION.
Americans have lived in Panama for decades and they have lived well and better than in USA.

de QUE CARAJOS HABLAS YO SOY DE PANAMA well that show u that im from Panama right? i was borned in chorrera and lived there for 16 years (2 years i ago i moved to US cuz i faking got robbed at my own house twice, and also in albrook mall) u cant deny that the security sux big!!! why do you think im saying that panama sux? cuz im from there nub!!
khryzalids 3 years ago
You need to live in a nicer area of Panama and you will be safe. Chorrera does not represent Panama and is certainly not that nice. If you live in a U.S. ghetto, you will be robbed too and probably killed because they enjoy killing people. I moved to Panama because U.S. is not safe. You have to lock your doors at night and kids cannot play outside without supervision. You can be mugged anywhere in the U.S. I live in a gringo area of Panama which is fairly nice and safe.
felicity5150 3 years ago
It's only nice because you live in the 'gringo' area that is supported by American dollars. You slam the US in many of your comments, but then validate how 'safe' it is in your area, because of gringo foreigners. You may be right about the future of the US, but more than half of the nation owns at least 2 weapons, so defending ourselves will not be a problem. Only a small percentage lives in the 'ghetto.' As for Panama, I was only telling of my own experience while there, and crime is an issue.
SSGKV 3 years ago
You forgot about Aussie, Canadian, UK, Panamanian Jews along with Americans that make up the gringo areas. Regarding crime it depends on where you are, when you are and how you compose yourself no different than U.S. I lived in upper middle class U.S. suburbia and had all my cars broken into and home ransacked. It happens everywhere. Random violent crime is much more prevalent in U.S. Most Panama crime is highly targeted, staked out inside jobs.
felicity5150 3 years ago
Aussie, Canadian, UK, and Panamanian Jews make up a majority of whites within 'gringo areas' in Panama. Are you implying that white neighborhoods are safer? That's how your statement appears. Random crimes are not more prevalent in the US, it simply appears to happen more (proportionately) because we have more than ten times your population. Would I ever visit Panama again? You bet! Like I said, crime is bad, but I don't think it's bad enough to keep me from visiting again.
SSGKV 3 years ago
Gringos are still a small minority in many of the "gringo areas". Panamanians and other Latins still make up 80% of the home buyers in gringo areas. It's more related to economic class than race. Regarding safety, crime is less rampant in nicer areas because less people need to steal there. However outsiders come in and target certain victims, but it's not that common. In lower class areas, more people are open to stealing and you see a lot more crime almost daily.
felicity5150 3 years ago
Also be careful in the U.S. because a lot of people are losing their jobs and there will be chaos and food riots to come. Imagine having millions of starving inner city savages. You think you are safe in the burbs?
felicity5150 3 years ago
Americans do not enjoy killing people. Your generalizations are inappropriate to law-abiding Americans. However, we will tke life when we must. Advice? Avoid robbing the average American, the outcome will not be pleasant. The 2nd Amendment will ensure freedom when it is threatened. Ii've been to Chorrera, and it is worse than most American ghetto's, having been born in south Chicago, myself. However, I felt safer in Chorrera than in downtown Panama City, where I witnessed dozens of crimes.
SSGKV 3 years ago
American criminals do have a penchant for shooting their victims or stabbing them to death even if it's just a robbery. You have more violent criminals who do enjoy killing people. I wasn't referring to the general population.
felicity5150 3 years ago
Dead people can't identify you, sue you, or get even with you...that is why they choose to kill, not because our society 'enjoys' it. Statistically, we have more violent crimes because we have more people. Proportionately, we have less violent crimes per capita than almost every other nation. Please do some research before you speak negatively about the US. Even in combat situations, we do not enjoy killing people, but we do what we must to keep enemies fighting elsewhere, and not within the US.
SSGKV 3 years ago
Other than Panama City, I had a great time in Panama and found it to be a beautiful country. It was the locals who made it difficult to bear. Be careful in your assumptions about the US, we support your economy. If the US/world eonomy fails, Panama also fails. I admit that family values in America is suffering. Less than 1% are homeless. More than 50% own their homes. Panama is isn't better because the US is gone. We ousted your drug lord and kept watch over your families and you're still angry?
SSGKV 3 years ago
The U.S. economy has failed since Dec. Life goes on without the U.S. along with it's giant ponzi scheme.
felicity5150 3 years ago
The economy is suffering as a result of poor government spending, plain and simple. It has nothing to do with individual citizens' spending. When your nation's only hear the bad news, it's no wonder you have a negative opinion of the US. Lest we forget that most of the world's population still wants to be part of the US. Again, Panama is a nice country, (to visit) but until they learn to police themselves, it's not going to get much better with regard to safety. I've been there, I've seen it.
SSGKV 3 years ago
Funny how you have it reversed. U.S. media is the biggest propaganda machine in the world. Ask any American on the street what they think of Panama, they will think drug lords and that's about it. They probably have no clue the canal is there. I know America because I lived there all my life and then woke up to the reality of things and left. It's economic slavery cradle to grave. Permission based society now (was not before). It may appeal to some people, but not me.
felicity5150 3 years ago
SSGKV 3 years ago
All nations spin doctor info. They have to to control their people. What is startling is in America there seems to be more blind trust versus other countries. Maybe it's complacency or just a superiority arrogance. Very dangerous.
felicity5150 3 years ago
I think it's ignorance rather than arrogance. Speaking generally, most Americans do not support what is happening in US politics. People blindly trusted and voted for the 'hope' that something would change. However, there is good change and bad change. Change for the sake of change, is never a good thing. We needed changes in action, not in policy. Now we have a rookie at the helm, and I believe that the outcome will cost many people their lives before this is completed. The world is watching.
SSGKV 3 years ago
The drug lord you are referring to was ousted because he would not play ball with the CIA who happens to be the biggest drug cartel in the world. It had nothing to do with helping Panamanians.
felicity5150 3 years ago
When caught, blame it on the CIA. Absurd.
SSGKV 3 years ago
You need to study the history of the CIA. I hope you are aware of all the false flag government sponsored terrorist attacks that have happened over the last century. If not, then there is no need to go further with this discussion.
felicity5150 3 years ago
"More than 50% own their homes. " - nope. The banks own the vast majority of your homes and cars. That's what got you into this financial mess. 1 out of every 100 persons is living on the streets in the U.S. That's not a statistic to be proud of. What's your divorce rate? Your obesity rate? Your disease rate? Your anti-depressant pill sales rate? A lot of people have left the sinking ship and are glad they did.
felicity5150 3 years ago
Your facts are mistaken, as it's obvious your media outlets are inaccurate and false. Over 50% of all eligible Americans already own their homes. About 20% rent, and the remaining 30% are trying to pay-off their homes. Almost half of that purchasing 30% are behind on their homes or are in foreclosre. It is that negative propaganda that is being broadcast throughout the world. What people fail to realize is that he average American has a job and can actually buy a home. Unemployment is only 7%.
SSGKV 3 years ago
1 out of every 100? Perhaps, but not likely. And that should tell the world something aout the US,.the truth is that even the homeless want to stay here! If you had nothing and were given the freedom to choose a nation, you would pick the US as well. Obesity? We have the freedom to and resources to choose. Disease rate? We lead the world in medical advancement, silly. Depression? Not any more prevalent than other nations. The ship may sink, but the people will swim. It's not the 1st time for us.
SSGKV 3 years ago
Have to disagree with you about the homeless. Where are they going to go? They have no choice but to stay. NO NO NO I would not pick the U.S. It ranks near my bottom. Medical advancement to make money from people who get diseases from eating FDA approved toxins. Wrong about depression. Americans have a serious problem there. Something is terribly wrong with your society. The people who can't swim will drown. Not the first time and not the last.
felicity5150 3 years ago
The middle-class manufacturing base is gone, thanks to Clinton's NAFTA, which made it less costly for companies to outsource to other nations by making it 'free' to import their own products, and pay less then $1. per hour to produce somewhere else. The new President just keeps printing money to offset his 'spending spree', further devaluating the dollar. Most Americans know that you cannot get out of debt by spending more. Our sorry Democratic liberal politicians have ruined the economy.
SSGKV 3 years ago
You are 100% right about all that. But did you considered why all this is happening? The Dem/Rep, Left/Right politics is a smoke screen to mask the real culprits. Have you seen the trend of banking consolidation leading to global governance by the central banks? They control both parties and use them to fool the public into thinking they have a choice and power when in reality both parties are puppets to the global bankers and oligarchs.
felicity5150 3 years ago
The political divide is a huge problem. The agenda of One World Government has been a goal for a long time. It will probably start with the North American Union, similar to the EU. Then the two unions will merge, etc. You get the idea. Whatever happens, something drastic is coming and it will affect us all. The government has already made moves to invest and control the housing market, remaining manufacturing base, medical, and so on. They are making the people dependent on government. Sad.
SSGKV 3 years ago
What is really sad is all of this is happening out in the open and yet the majority of people still don't believe it's happening. They sense something is wrong, but fall short of realizing they are being completely taken over.
felicity5150 3 years ago
khryzalids , did it ever occur to you that maybe you suck and not Panama? You are welcome to leave if you don't like it.
felicity5150 3 years ago 2
Panama is a great country with a lot of opportunities for growth. There are negatives though. Panama City is no good. Air quality and traffic are bad. But the interior is beautiful, air is clean and land is plentiful. People are generally nice and hospitable. You have more freedom and cost of living is much lower than USA. A lot less pressure and stress from the rat race.

It is a big adjustment to live in a new country and new culture, but the lifestyle is so much more relaxed than here in the US, I can actually stay at home for my children in Panama (and live nicely) with only my husband's pay.

Proud Panamenian!! I welcome all the american to visit or stay in Panama. If the US has open doors to so many panamenians , why can we do the same. I don't see what the problem is regardless of the 1989 invasion. Ive'd never heard any panamenians I know complaint about american presence in the country and in fact a lot of the people in panama have friends and family in the US and it would be very ignorant to think that way.

proudpanamanian- you need americans to support your piss-hole country! you're economy's shit; your government is unstable; heck i don't know why anyone would want to retire there???
dashocka1 4 years ago
dashocka1....I am not sure where you are getting your information....the only feces I smell is the United States housing market that is dragging the rest of the economy into the crapper. You have an expensive ass war going on and a monkey in the white house. Dude you can't afford a house in Florida anymore with your lame ass job....that's why you want to retire in Panama.

no i DON'T want to retire in panama actually! secondly, what goes down must come up!

Now we are supposed to provide benefits
,real estate,no tax payment,retirement

Why ?
What the americans had done for us?
They treat us bad in the U.S.
I hope our inmigration laws establish a
VISA for Americans.

vbcruiser...retired @ 42?
you've got some really bad karma.
I've spent alot of time in Costa Rica and what you've written is utterly absurd from my perspective. I'm afraid miserable gringos like you are giving the rest of us a bad name.
mikedowd66 4 years ago
