please! i need ur help! my ps3 hdmi works on probably everyother samsung tv. It works at my friends house but doesnt work with mine. The problem is that the ps3 doesnt display on the hd channel at all but it does on the sd channel. Its just a blank normal tv screen that just says HDMI at the top. I dont want to have to play sd forever so please help me

On the CONSUMER AFFAIRS site samsung has about 9,000 more complaints about their tvs than ANY other brand.

I just got my 46 inch Samsung fixed for free even though it was out of warranty.

I recommend everyone call the company. They have excellent field repair support.

Samsung screwed THOUSANDS of it's customers with JUNK tvs AND THE LIST IS GROWING EVERY DAY.

And read about their so called WONDERFUL SUPPORT.

Shamyou... I had a 3 year old 46 inch tv that was way out of its warranty period and Samsung sent out a field tech FREE of charge and fixed my TV for free. So even if what you say may be true, they treated me right.

Thats caused by too much signal lose.

HDMI is digital.

Use gold plated cables with descent shielding and not longer then about 5 feet.

The signal loss is true seems u got a cheap cable however length does not matter mine is 15m with no signal loss its all about the quality of the cable

I think there is a setting in the PS3 cross media bar, settings -> audio, where you can select if hdmi will convey the audio also or just video. I can't check the exact setting now, but be sure to try it before sending anything for repairs...

Ok, the Samsung guy came over today and flashed the tv with firmware 1009.0. I finally got rid of some other problems, like the infamous "humbars": horizontal light/shadow bars that travel across the screen slowly in the background. They were almost invisible while using PS3/Blu-ray, but worst with dvd playback (scart), PC tv-out (dvi-hdmi) and PS3 playing PS1 games (hdmi).

So owners of this tv should definitely GET A FIRMWARE UPDATE!

bc, PS3s break less then the 360s, all ps3s have hdmi, and msot of the time hdmi probs come from a broken cable or broken tv, so stfu douche.

more likely the cable, usually just unplugging it from the ps3 and plugging the cable back in does the trick.

Had the same problem, you need to call samsung,explain the flickering on HDMI sources,that you tried all 4 HDMI ports, that the ps3 is just fine and updated.And that you tried another HDMI cable(assuming you did all this).

Now you have a leg to stand on and you should just insist (politely:p) that you want a repair guy over (and hope he brings a new motherboard)

He'll just replace the botched mobo and probably install the AMBPEUMD-1020 firmware (your image will improve nicely with that one too)

I haven't tried with another HDMI-HDMI cable yet, but I have to do that soon, because now I'm getting more and more flickering when starting a HDMI-device in HDMI port 3. After 0-2 minutes it goes away, but still, it wasn't there at all initially...

A cheap HDMI-DVI cable by Delta seems to work fine in HDMI ports 1 and 2.

hdmi 1 and 2 don't work with the ps3, hdmi 3 does... I'm just curious about the reason. PC connects nicely to hdmi 2 (dvi-hdmi cable)

OK, I tried it with a HDMI-DVI cable and there was no flickering. So this must be an issue with Sony's official PS3 hdmi cable. Weird though that it works in the side hdmi port... anyway, problem solved, thanks.

Yes it is. It's Sony's fault that this happens. However, this doesn't happen on Sony Bravia TVs.
