  • I use a VERY slowly rotating HUGE disk like this.(DAMN, Youtube does not let me link the image, but it is made of wool and looks like the one that is shown at 1:05 in your video...but it is HUGE) + Autosol (Not sure if it is available in USA, you might wanna Google it) The diameter of the disk I use is about 80 cm/31.5 inch and thickness about 10 cm/4 inch. I use old old washing machine motor to rotate it 100 rpm. Gives perfect shine.

  • The real secret to great aluminum is to be sure to play cheesy 80's film montage rock while polishing it.

Aluminum really gets psyched up when it hears Winger.

  • @WhatTheFlyinFudge KIP WINGER WAS A LEGEND IN 1990. NOW HE IS PROBABLY A PLUMBER IN DULUTH MINNESOTA....

  • @DIOSpeedDemon Yeah, and he probably has really shiny pipes (oh, the places we could go with this...)

  • Your video would be SO much better without the background music. It is a distraction and unnecessary. (People who don't like this song will not want to watch your video when the song annoys them.)

  • The bad 80's music is distracting.

  • @badderthanyou There's no such thing as bad 80's music, except maybe Boy George, LOL.

  • try using green for your final coloring instead of white. White is very greasy and can add to the streaking effect. You can actually you green to cut as well. Acetone is pretty harsh to use in my opinion, I use wd40 as the piece is still warm. Then a mild soap and warm water. Just thought I'd send out a tip, I own a polishing business in socal and like to help out those DIY'ers even though it hurts the pocket :)

  • @TheOsoBrown why dont you make a diy vid?i really would like to see it from someone who does it every day.

  • Hey cool video! The DIO is lucky! I have bad luck with bench grinders because they don't have the torque needed for polishing. They rely mainly on momentum. I use a big electric DIY grinder because it's faster. See the video response.

How did the sealer turn out over time? Is it as brilliant still as bare metal, and if not, what does the Eastwood stuff require for prep work before a re-polish?

    Have you ever tried ZoopSeal?

  • i agree the mothers metal polish and works great and protects for long

  • Wow that look pretty good. I was looking for a way to bring bushed aluminum to a mirror like polish. Not sure how I'm gonna tackle that one. I may get 1000 grit sand paper and sand it then take it to a polisher like you did.

  • what are you trying to polish? I can show u how with or without machines.

  • I did it to a 3.5" cover in my Media PC. I already did it. I have a video posted on it.

Thank you. I accept all the tips I can get. Have a look at it and let me know how I might be able to do it better.

  • powerball and mothers metal polish works great

  • what are you using to polish..rouge? have a brand name you like...or are you just using bare wheels?

  • bare wheels ..lol...good luck withthat

  • Forgot to ask, is that a 6" or 8" grinder and what size buffing wheels are you using?

  • THis is an 8" grinder and 2-6" wheels stacked on each side. One side is for cutting and the right is for final polish. SEMPER FI!!! Marines Kick Ass and Take Names...

  • I think you need to read Smedly Butler's, "War Is A Racket".

Smedley Darlington Butler (July 30, 1881 June 21, 1940), nicknamed "The Fighting Quaker" and "Old Gimlet Eye", was a Major General in the U.S. Marine Corps and, at the time of his death, the most decorated Marine in U.S. history.

  • Wow looks good, is that a ryobi bench grinder? Did you just take the guards off and add buffing wheels?

  • Yes , I did take the guards off and you can see them behind the grinder. THe wheel guards have a light built in so I just placed the cords behind the grinder.

  • Eastwoods clearcoat is a rippoff. Just use clear laquer.

  • Thanks for the laquer tip!

  • it looks nice

  • THANKS BRO. i will keep everyone up on what I'm doing and how it works out.
