The crowd joining in here so loud just sends chills up my spine. As much as I love the higher fidelity versions of this song... this might just be the best.
The most extrodinary thing about you, standing in the doorway is that its you, and that your standing, in the doorway, and you smile when you ease the gun from my hand and im, frozen with joy, right where i stand........the world throws its light underneath your hair, 40 miles from atlanta this is nowhere....
There's something that's awe inspiring whenever the whole crowd sings along to a TMG song, like when they all shout Hail Satan at the climax of The Best Ever Death Metal Band Out of Denton, and now this....It just sends chills down my spine.
I'm just waiting for him to be in NYC when I'm not stuck upstate.
man i'm so close to watkins glen, and i've NEVER heard of this Farm Sanctuary place....i gotta get my ear to the ground more often and find the good venues around here...i TOTALLY would have been at that show had i known about it! =(
farm sanctuary is actually a refuge for mistreated animals (thus the name) but every once in a while they host musical guests. This one was a sort of camping weekend where they played 2 shows and during the day everybody explored the farm. The shows were held in the evenings in the barn and most people camped out in tents on the surrounding lawns. it was a lot of fun.
When ever John darnielle is performing, PPH accompanies him on bass. His first official recording with TMG was on tallahasse but he was also in 9 black poppies...creo pero no se.

This is my favourite video on YouTube, and I honestly can't put into words why.
It just shines.

I love that John asks Peter for backing vocals to a song that the crowd SCREAMS along to. Heh. Also, best bass solo ever. By anyone. EVER.

I climbed Watkins Glenn in an hour and 30 minutes.
I had a walking stick, but I almost died before I reached the top. It is quite a steep ascent. Scary too!
But I like the Mountain Goats, they write amazing songs that all sound alike.
Sincerely,
The Legendary Danny O'Doul
