No doubt, Chris Young is a talented composer, probably a genius, and I've loved his work for many years. I must say though, that the first half of this track is very much inspired by Jerry Goldsmith's Poltergeist score. No complaints there as I love the music of both. :-) Who better for a genius to be inspired by than the master genius Jerry Goldsmith.
and what was it last time? did'nt know what the box was, and yet we still keep finding each other dont we? perhaps your teasing us, are you teasing us?!!!!
This piece of music is so amazing. The one thing I love about it is the fact it has a mystical charm to it, but still has that creepy and foreboding undertone weeved within it. It's not a track that comes across as representing purely evil, it's got this sort of graceful touch. It just makes everything sound so much more magical, but in a dark way, like the calm beginning of the track is like the calm before the storm. It truly is a brilliant score to go with an awesome movie.
TIME TO PLAY!TRICK US AGAIN CHILD AND YOUR SUFFERING WILL BE LEGENDARY ....EVEN IN HELL!!!!THAT'S THE PART I LOVED! TO THE GUY WHO POSTED THIS?THANK YOU .
@jru42287 Really? Damn! I love and respect both of those artists. Darkman was probably the first movie I fell in love with as well with Danny's fantastic score.
@wandererlain Yeah. Elfman wrote a score for those scenes (and the train sequence), but Raimi kept telling him he wanted a score that sounded like this part, basically trying to get him to plagiarize this, and Elfman said no, he wouldn't do that. Got to the point where Danny just said "You want music that sounds like Chris Young? Then go hire f**cking Chris Young!"
Young's best track of the two HR films he scored, which is saying quite something. Transcendant music, this track builds and builds to something quite awesome, in the truest sense of the word!
Great classic soundtracks like this have given cult status to certain movies. There is another track "Headless Wizard" from the same soundtrack which is also very good.
It reminds me of the Fusion theme from Spider-Man 2.

@jasemunnproductions I put him on the same level as Jerry Goldsmith, R.I.P.
This music will never die, like Beethoven and Wagner.

So eager to play, so reluctant to admit it. This song gives me goosebumps, every time I hear it.

Anyone else here the poltergeist in this score? Not the main theme but one of its spiritual leitmotives.

WOW. Chris Young really didn't change much AT ALL for Spider-Man 2's fusion scene.

@wandererlain Yeah. This is actually the reason Danny Elfman walked out! Which si really a shame!

@Ryushinku Agreed. I always preferred the main theme from Hellbound over the original (though I do love the original).
