Is it possible to play some synth bacground and sing somethning into microphone at the same time? It is very important to me. Is it possible to use R3 microphone to sing, or just to vocode? on XL i can sing, but i can`t play any background at the same time. On R3 it could be perhaps possible by maping audio in (XLR) on one exat kedy and keep it latched and on rest of the keys some patch to background. Or does R3 have audio through?

i had a korg r3 and sold it after a month... it sounds like a vst. the vocoder sucks, patches have a glassy typical "korg" sound no matter how much you program... i guess its a good buy if you want a cheap polysynth and don't tweak knobs in realtime, but if you do like to tweak knobs, you will hear "stairstepping" bigtime. i honestly think that the microkorg sounds better, and that isn't saying much lol

... the Kaoss pad from a dynamic synth full of rad sounds into a virtual analogue synth (meaning you are free to build ANY sound you can think of to use on the pad).
3. The r3 has awesome Midi Chanel Commands. THis means, you can patch the knobs and wheel effects to effects ON OTHER MACHINES (so that raising the cutoff on a groovebox to bring in a loop, also raising an effect wetness or patch depth on the r3!)

1. The r3 doubles as a superb Midi-controller. I may only have 33 keys, but I use it going into my EMX1 Electribe to right loops and mellodies with ease.
2. It makes a great synth engine for the Kaoss pad working as a controller (allowing you to leave the databanks of premade sounds stored in the KP and engeneer your own on the r3). I own KP3; it trandforms
