My brother works at Holdens here in Australia and said they badge the American exports as Pontiac G8 or GXP ,the Middle East as Chev Lumina SS and in the UK as a Vauxhall VXR8. They are just badges of the motor company's in your country's ,at the end of the day they are Australian VE Holden Commodores. However continued bellow

@fpvshitsonhsv However the exports from Australia to the Middle East have been going on for over 10 years ,so they have older makes of Holdens like the VT Holden SS, VX Holden SS , VY+VZ Holden SS and of course the current VE Holden Commodore SS. Not sure if they have many of the 90's Holdens as Chev Lumina's but i know its been over 10 years of exporting to the Middle East now

Beeping noise happens at 120kmph to indicate overspeed. BTW, it cant be 285. Top speed is 260. I will upload a video of my friend's Lumina SS with a Magna Charger. Still does 0-260 but much faster.

Umm ok, I dont know about 285kmph but the speedo only says 260. My friend has one and we both hit 260kmph on the highway. Unless the Rev limiter has been removed, there is no way this Lumina does 285. My friend has a Magna Charger installed dishing out 450BHP from 325BHP stock. Still cant hit more than 260. 265 the most.

Yes, 260kmph IS easy to hit. 285? I don't think so unless the limiter was removed. Like I said, my friend's car hits 260 in no time. The speedo only shows 260. Even with my friend's car sporting a Magna Charger running 7 PSi, it only goes to 260 faster than without one. 265 is the max it can do coz the needle does go slightly past 260. Chevrolet Lumina SS, Pontiac GTO and the Holden Commodore SS are all the same cars. Good engines.

its a 4speed auto and doing 3rd gear 250km/h and 4th gear has a long ratio so you can imagine how much more faster it can go! but the tyres might not be able to handle speeds above 260

They call it speed limit, manufacturer limits the speed to a certan speed cause they think the car shouldn't go any faster, i.g GMC superban, the old one if you get to 180 << cant remember exactly the engine stop and speed drop a little then it o back to working.

Depends mate, I have a VY SS and it does top out at 282 using a GPS, the only true way to tell ur speed. Thats hittin the limiter in 5th with stock diff and stock limiter, many people have the limiter moved when they get the car tunned which can up the top speed to around 296 or so.
