JUST FOR INFORMATION, IN NANGMA THERE ARE FEW DIFFERENT WAY OF SINGING AND ABOUT THE MOVEMENT OF UPPER AND LOWER IT DEPEND ON THE PROVINCE SO IT WOULD BE GLAD IF POSSIBLE COLLECT INFORMATION BEFORE SAY ANYTHING... T.I.P.A IS ONE OF MOST APPRECIATE ABLE INSTITUTION TO PRESERVE CULTURE EVEN WHILE IN EXILE..I AM ALWAYS PROUD OF.. BHOEGYALO
@kedol23 True! She seems to move a lot...however, her singing is perfect albeit a little slow (having been used to the versions from Tibet)....like the one by Basang la (巴桑) about Zhepe Lhamo Bhuti (美丽的拉姆布赤)
thank u karma la this video n its very nice nangma song, please can u write a words in tibetan, i like this song n i m also doing a praktice, thanks again,
In the film Acho Namgyal, it was made clear by Mr. Maja and Sampho Rinpoche that Nangma has nothing to do with the Indian Nagma, and that Nangma is an indigenous Tibetan musical art form. In VOA's Kunleng television program, Mr. Dumkhang, who was head of TIPA in the 1960s, also stated that Nangma has it's origins in Tibetan Court music, and that it does not have foreign roots.
Is TIPA aware of these views from some of our most well informed and learned musicians?
@gyatsostayg, I have always wondered about that as well. Have heard both sides but still haven't found which one really has facts to back it up. I wonder if you've had any luck in finding out perhaps?? Please do share :)
