I have read articles and seen several videos lately addressing the way Jewish copy-ists were to do their work, and the way Hebrew copy-ists in Israel still do their work. It is a very impressive study. The scribes counted their letters and columns as they hand-wrote a new copy. They had to discard many hours of work if they found one small error. The Dead Sea Scrolls have recognizable portions of Old and New Testament because the material is so accurate compared with today's Bibles.
