  • democracy in a nutshell: "THAT guy ain't doin' SHIT for you."

  • sending letters out to your reps? i have to laugh hon...i just have to laugh. i think they are all gettin' blow jobs at the local country club

  • WELL SAID

  • Well you just got unsubscribed for this lil ditty. Couple points. Your health, phys. well-being, whatever is none of my business, and therefore not my economic liability. Your personal health care is a self responsibility, not that of your fellow Americans. Its not a goddamn Right. A1 and A2 are Rights. Rights Im really fond of. But no where in the CotUS or BoR can you find a right to health care. Stop perpetuating this bullshit. Should I buy you food? Then why should I buy you health care.

  • I'm sorry you've unsubbed me for this. But to each his own. It's not my intention to make people accept my position on anything but to urge them to make their own voices heard on issues important to them. I'll continue to stand up for free speech, guns, and other rights as well.

  • go back to makin your neck a lil' bit redder motherfucker

  • way to shit on your fellow man. the truth is, you're paying for it anyway. and you pay for a lot of other much more morally questionable stuff with your tax money. if the so called richest nation on earth can't produce enough of a surplus to take care of its own CITIZENS, it's time to admit all of the wealth and productivity has been siphoned off to the top 1% for about the last 35 years. Ripping people off may be legal, but they aren't going to stand for it much longer.

  • Still don't understand what "Public Option" means.

    Option to choose health insurance?

Isn't that what we have now?

  • lies lies lies Americans continue to trust....fucking pathetic

  • it ain't no OPTION...it is a PUBLIC LIE...fuck you AmeriKan New World Horror

  • So true all true they all work for the highest bidder. The only thing they will give us is a shaft of wood to carve our own individually paddle since we are so far up shi* creek we can't see the shore.

  • comment of the fucking year

  • all medicare must be free no matter who you are

it is immoral to make profit from any human sickness or misery

    peace

  • Oh well, Obama will get it done (second term) not over yet FUCKIN dude!!!

  • In a wierd way it's probably good that Obama and the Dems got in. That way people can see that they are just as guilty as Bush and the other Republicans and can't blame only them for this mess!

  • Absolutely!

  • you can't change the state by playing by it's rules.the state will not act against it's own interests..even if it's for aims you consider noble.you are choosing to be a fascist

  • It's true to a certain extent. But at the same time you can't expect the majority of people, or a sufficient number anyway to operate outside the parameters of a system that they have been conditioned to accept. What good would be had by jumping the gun and have your own neighbors and supposed friends telling the news that they knew you were trouble when you're arrested for "homegrown terrorism"?

  • You contradict yourself. If you believe in liberty the last thing you want is government involvement.

  • ocelot814

There was a time when health insurance was entirely unnecessary.

That was before the government became involved.

Now when the government is being pressured to fix the mess it's made over the last 100 years of involvement, the tools are up in arms screaming "no more government!"

I say either they need to get all the way in and fix the problem or all the way out, dismantle the FDA and rollback anti-competitive barriers set up at the behest of the fatcats.

  • So we agree the problem IS the GOVERNMENT. Not the insurance companies who used the government to make favorable legislation with bribes.

  • turn back to that time .. without the high tech medecine..

the era of the snake oil salesman..

when hospital were run by nuns.. and were mostly terminal's bed

  • Everything in stages and in due course. I do believe in liberty. But I also believe that the plans put forward in healthcare reform are designed to enslave us to corporations. The government can be made to represent the people again in some fashion, but there is no mechanism for freeing yourself from the clutches of corporate bondage once established. I'd rather avoid any new chains than attack the old at the moment that's all.

  • "But I also believe that the plans put forward in healthcare reform are designed to enslave us to corporations."

Yea and? This is what governments due. Backed by historical evidence.

"The government can be made to represent the people again in some fashion"

If the people want representation why outsource it to a few bureaucrats? Sounds like low-self esteem to me.

  • True but this is still a Constitutional republic in which we elect people to represent us. We don't live in, and have never lived in a democracy. Until a new system is in place does it not make sense to attempt to fix the one that we are forced to deal with? Make the people we elect actually do the jobs they are supposed to do, represent us.

  • can';t believe 3 fucking months of LIES.....I guess they planned it this way while they spray away god knows what in our skies and pump up the vaccines with god knows what they will make PEOPLE MORPH INTO?! SCARy sick country!

  • Government only seeks to exploit the lives of the poor for the sake of government alone. Essentially, the purpose of government is to create wealth for those that perpetuate government and non other. Those who are interested in perpetuating the welfare of individuals are not affiliated with the power structure and never will be. This is always a constant among all governments and is not an anomaly.

  • i think i might have been misinterpreted - i was not responding to your vid but one of your commenters. ( who stated that s/he pays very little and with the appropriate tax cuts & free markets all will be well)

    this is fiction.

we are on the same page - i am way left of obama

  • I read your letter to the end. I liked it so much I sent it to my senators Feingold and Kohl as well. There is a single payer bill HR676 from Kucinich and Conyers. Stuck in committee as usual. I asked them to seriously consider it.

  • Excellent vid ! Michael Moore should consider posting this video as an addendum to his movie ! :) If the corporate assholes in control of this country + right now, THEY are the ones controlling 'fake' protest movements, become aware of just how pissed off everybody is - they will do one of 2 things: They will either diffuse this anger against them, by causing resentment amongst the people, or they will clamp down on any social movements, period. The first scenario is already in play.

  • Thanks Ella.

  • 1 thing you forget, with the death of Massachucetts Senator, Ted Kennedy, they are back down to 59 till he is replaced.

Minute point, but something to think about.

    J.

  • Technicality. The overwhelming majority is still there, point taken though.

  • It is a technicality, one that is one hell of a thorn in their side. Senate rules state that in order to end a Fillibuster, you need 60 votes. Regardless of how many senators are currently in senate, you still need the magic number of 60. Even if there was 90 senators only, you'd still need 60.

Being that they only have 59 votes right now, means they cannot bring a fillibuster to an end, hence forth why Mass is in a hurry to appoint a Democrat to replace Kennedy, so they can resume business.

  • forget health insurance!

    Just pray!

It worked for the black plague it will work again!

  • Maybe leeches? Or is that a MOON MAN remedy?

  • Sorry but leeches aren't covered under your current policy.

  • its pretty funny

  • Tenebroust, given what we know (the awake) why waste our time trying to convince the government to help the people. It's like trying to convince the crazy guy that has the gun pointed at you to put it down. The government now, feels empowered to give to their friends in the big industries. Nothing short of forceful will make them change their minds. They feel they have one, arguments, and letters will not work. It's time for 1776.

  • Well as I say we should be in the streets demanding action and shutting things down but there simply are not enough people that would support such action. Getting people involved puts them on a path to that end or actually promotes change. It is up to us to act as good examples for those we wish to convince of the true state of affairs.

  • I'm ready. You ready?

  • Writer Tim Morrison, Montana: "Those who follow their heart will be called one of two things, crazy or legendary". (I'm paraphrasing here.)

  • : )

  • :0)>

  • Pretend Im yelling now: YOU CAN BUILD YOUR OWN FINANCIAL RELATIONSHIP WITH A DOCTOR! I suggest you seek it out America. YOU DON'T NEED A HOUSE, SENATE, SUBCOMMITTEE, OR INSURANCE CO.!

  • Yes indeed. That is another excellent reason why mandating that you get insurance is NOT REFORM! And fining people without it is lunacy.

  • Elections will be here in a year. Our next opportunity to change the course of history. We might mention this in our letters to Congress. How are they helping us ? NOW.

I try to push 3rd party, but the mass hypnosis of society is so thorough as to boggle the mind. I can say Green, or Socialist, or Libertarian, and when I ask what I just said, they say "I don't know". Argh !

  • My letter(s) say that I will not support them in upcoming elections and instead will support other candidates that support my views, that is if they themselves do not do so, which they don't.

  • Single payer all the way!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks.

  • So why is it that we have surveillance everywhere except our Congress, Senate, Oval Office, and Supreme Court Coffee Room, etc?? I Think we should put a channel here for each politician and put them live 24/7 like The Truman Show. Let's see who Senator Robinsome is visiting today

  • Oh excellent idea!!!

  • Nice vid Ted, as always. But I fear that we as a Nation have passed a point of no return. It's become obvious that the majority of our so said elected officials in D.C. have been consumed by greed and corruption. My personal opinion is that they put the Mafia out of business only to take over. I feel that most of the people of this Nation won't wake up to take action until they can no longer text message. Sad to say, but we live in a brainwashed society with lost morals.

  • It has to hit very close to home for people to react. Some much closer than others. It is still important to spur engagement so that those people eventually feel that and want to take action.

  • Don't go tearing apart businesses. Tear apart the halls of Congress and the Federal Reserve.

  • and AIG

  • And other insurance giants that have a market monopoly that will get fatter and richer with new mandatory coverage healthcare reform?

  • yeah, i was being a lotta lazy... our crony capitalism is so rampant with corruption that i probably cant even name half of the "companies" we should tear apart... hmm... too bad they got the foreign troops to send at us with the tech weapons. thats the only reason im worried.... besides that, we could really do this when they push hard enough, hopefully non-violently.

  • Hyperbole. How about banks that took money and won't lend any out?

  • SHOOT THE MOON!!!

  • We are!

  • We've had 12 years of the labour party in the UK. This is a party which has always been 'for the people', and had a proud history of representing the needs of the poor and downtrodden. Yet, the party which we have had these last 12 years has done NOTHING. Indeed they're more right wing than the conservatives. Have brought the country to it's knees, and spat in the face of the lower classes time after time. They're career politicians and TV celebrities, and lack all that is considered moral.

  • That's the kind of false impression that I am trying to break. There is no party for the people anymore.

  • Insanity: Lack of proportion to think straight

  • Good point(s) good sir...

There will not be mass people in the streets until

the banks close their doors and or hyperinflation,

until food becomes scarce, and last but not least...until it becomes difficult to get a bag of pot along with a 24 pack of beer to match with their video games.... : /

  • It has to hit home for them personally.

  • if you are not careful you are going to pop a blood vessel.. the democrats and obama are useless just like the rest of them.. if everyone continues to do nothing we are all in big trouble.. anarchy may be the only answer.

  • No worries about the blood vessel and I know they are all the same.

  • I'd like to point out that the point of this video is to stir political action. To show that supposedly "for the people" democrats can't even get a public option through committee let alone passed. The republicans are no better as their ideas are just as reactionary to the other side. Ask yourself is there a healthcare issue? Is it important? What do you think should be done, if anything? Take action to support your position.

  • In so doing you accomplish the purpose of the video and that is to prove to yourself that the people who you elected and supposedly who represent you do NOT represent you and your views. It is time for them to go home and to make way for people who actually do work for you instead of the people with the money. There is no difference between the parties, they all serve the same master and this issue just illustrates that a little better than some.

  • Tenebroust, are you getting fed up with the snotty assed attitude of some Reps and Sens when you call their offices on this issue? I'm at the point where I want to live in Toon Town so I can ram my fist through the fucking phone line into some smug faces. I expect one day soon on of them will have an unguarded moment and respond thus..."Oh fuck off peasant, unless you have a Buick full of $100 bills, please piss off & die".

Time for everyone to vote out every elected official every election

  • I do hate it, but I have to do it.

  • It appears your message went over the heads of most viewers.

  • Maybe but if it promotes discussion I'm happy.

  • LOL

    exhaust the political process.

    Now there's a lovely metaphor.

Business wants the taxpayer to pick up the tab

    for healthcare.

The Republicrats are going to do so but in a way

that makes the healthcare in USA worse.

  • It is important to note that I absolutely do not support the republican reactionary response on this issue. It should be instructive to everyone that the dems and the reps are all the same with this issue.

  • What is up with Peoples inability to Rate Videos they find interesting enougth to Comment on or Watch with an Appriciatiion of the Subject Matter!!??

Please People,Its' under the Screen-Bottom Left,

    : D

    Peace and Respect(where possible).

  • To be honest brother...ideas like this, and others being proposed, are not just driving people back to the constitution, but it's actually sending a lot of people over that bridge and towards absolute anarchism.

  • It's a dead duck. Single payer is dead. A public option is likely dead too. A constitutional case for health care as a right can be made under the promoting the general welfare clause. That's just my opinion, I'm no constitutional lawyer like Barry Soetoro.

  • Which is what would push more people over the edge. What good is the constitution if it's consistently mis-interpreted, amended, or ignored?

  • No offense but if you or anyone else here dropped dead the world wouldnt end. We are all replaceable. I would enjoy seeing someone top Barrys arrogance with an explanation of how the welfare of a nation revolves around their individual health. PS the affirmative action card is getting pretty worn, so you'll have to come up with something good. : )

  • I agree. All replaceable. It's a point of view. As I said I am not the expert.

  • Lots of spirited debate! Excellent. If you disagree with me that's great. It doesn't bother me a bit, in fact I encourage it. The single payer issue is likely dead and buried and may be a moot point anyway. As apparently is the "public option" hence the video. I can only encourage you all to get to it and push for your issues.

  • *makes note of that book series*

  • Its funny... these people with the bright socialist ideas are the finest of fucking capitalists when it comes to their own wallets. Idealism is the shit I tell ya!

  • Bull shyite.Cyz me just wint to the mewvies ($10) and warshed thit fat fcuk Michael Moore's moooovie abowt qapitalism. And it sez thot capitalizm is bad becus cauitalism bailed out AIG and the other companies beaduse its a veryyiuo bad thing to dio you wsee it is onliuy yuu rettardds who like it u sick racststss fkuc fayce ifu dizazgreesl.

  • Ha, ha! Anyone who would watch a Michael Moore film about capitalism that has made him rich and not see the irony is really fucking stupid. It's a joke.

  • You liked that didn't you? I was trying to get a rise out of DrD. :-)

  • lol, smytty, I've seen you around before. I suspect your spelling here is a rouse of sorts.

  • Let's hope you don't lose everything you think you earned.

  • Though I disagree with your opinion on health care, I support and respect your efforts and passion T.

I agree there should be no middle man in health care. But I don't trust anyone (private npo or govt) to manage a single payer system either. Would be nice if we got insurance out of the way, lowered health care prices to an earthly level and reduce the tax burden on the people so they could afford health care.

    I know, it'll never happen...

  • i do not know what planet you are on.

there is no affordable system, 1% control 95% of the wealth - so what people are you talking about. who are these people who would all of a sudden be able to afford health care.?

  • The type of reform needed is not what is being proposed which is the point of this video. The only thing that seems certain is that a law will be passed that forces you to get coverage or pay fines and does nothing about affordability. The system is broken as you rightly point out.

  • Here's an idea for everyone....for 1 week don't go to work and march. Bring the whole fucking machine to a grinding halt. If we refuse to co-operate they will have NO CHOICE but to listen. Can you imagine what would happen if, nation wide, everyone just refused to be a slave. You can bet your ass that bug business would have to pay attention cause we would hit them in the only place that matters to them, their pocketbooks. We need to take back the power we let them have. Think about it!!!!!!

  • It's not the same. I believe that the health delivery system is controlled by the government in those countries. I am not proposing that. Health providers would be as they are right now independent providers of care.

  • hehe the looks like you opened the shit can. I keep wanting to do a video reply to you. I defiantly need to respond. Not as a personal attack on your opinion, more to present the other side.

  • Good. Debate is good. Single payer or not. The issue is likely dead anyway. It's not even talked about anymore on a national level.

  • what the fuck do you think medicare is... its socialized medicine... and good luck with paying an HMO over $700 a month for a 3rd world country doctor to misdiagnose you... or a PPO which is only worth a shit if you're active military... and all of you piece of shit vloggers who use to whine about how amazing Canada's health system is... guess what twats... its socialized... so shut the fuck you uneducated fox news watching fucktards...

  • What I had an HMO (from work) I paid $140.00 or so a month, not $700.00. I didn't know anyone who paid that much unless they were taking like 50 prescriptions or something.

  • Its $700 a month if you dont have a J O B!

  • actually he has a job working in the film industry... and for him & his two children he pays $700 a month... they only go for check ups once & a great while... so before you make an asshat comment... maybe you should ask why...

  • thanks for adding to the ever escalating douche baggery on youtube you fucking twat...

  • You're not my problem either. Get a JOB.

  • wow... only if our country was ran by such forward thinking fuck wits like you... you have all answers don't you... you have the same rational and intelligence of that fat walrus fuck Rush Limbaugh... BTW my boyfriend makes six figures... my point was why pay so much for an HMO & get nothing? not everyone is as lucky as him to afford health insurance... and I work in the medical field... I'm guessing you're just a professional ass hat who lives at home with mom...

  • Dont bore me with the dribble. You dont have a right to anything. Just be honest and admit you think youre entitled.

PS I am a professional, I make good money, I have great insurance and I earned it. Nobody GAVE me anything. I went out and got it.

  • OH and none of us worked for anything in our lives. I don't feel entitled to shit but I believe everyone is entitled to a happy & healthy life...

You are the one who feels special & is entitled because you EARNED everything. Check your ego fuck wit.

  • Didnt work hard enough LOL

And you do feel entitled. Im not paying for your failures. Now be gone, I'm bored with your pathetic rhetoric.

  • Question 1. Are you a patriot?

Question 2. Do you bend knee to the Bankers?

Question 3. Are you completely self sufficient in every way?

  • here I'll reply for our great & powerful ass hat leader... because god knows he can't be bothered while telling himself how awesome he is...

1). I'm a Conservative Fascist nut job with sprinkling of confused childhood erotic desire for my great-aunt.

2). I suck their cocks harder then a whore at a truck stop

3).Yes because I'm actually 14 & live with my mom

  • Well excuse every other hard working person who paid for their own fucking education... You are nothing but some wannabe demigod.

You need to stop living this lie of being an egotistical & self important fuck wit. You are not intelligent and have nothing rational to say. Your answer to everything is get a better JOB... WTF... Since you are so superior oh great ass hat god... what does one consider a better job? where do you stop? when shall we ever be good enough for you?

  • The short answer is no. Your personal shallowness and insecurities haven't gone unnoticed on me. The fact that you inability to live up to the laws of the "fittest" is something you might want to work on when you choose a mate. We have enough of the useless breeders... I support public vaccines and chemtrails for people like you. LOL

  • The third sentence is nonsensical.

  • If you are a professional you should be able to write correct English. The word you should use is 'drivel'. I wonder how long you will be able to keep whatever you trust in.

  • Please don't waste your keyboard time trying to correct me you arrogant twit. I speak very precise English. When I say dribble I mean precisely to stop letting saliva trickle from the corner of the mouth AKA drool, like the rabid shit talking liberal you are. FYI Your comment is drivel, you dribbling socially displaced dimwit.

  • You are an embarrassment to civilized people. You 'meant to sound rude', you would not mind if half the world were exterminated. You show off about how well you are doing. You cannot spell 'perspective'. I won't waste any more time correcting your errors. And it makes no difference what context you misspell in, it is still misspelling or misuse of words. Rudeness. Disregard for human lives. You don't fool me. I see where you are really coming from.

  • Please allow me to be rude once again. I'm not here writing a dissertation. Useless eaters like you aren't worth a proofread. Now if you want to play spelling and grammar Nazi, you win. Now please take your low IQ (and troll accounts) and do kindly @ off. I've already wasted far to much of my time engaging the likes of you. PS If I ruled the world I would let the useless money borrowing eaters like you starve to death in the streets. The rest of the human race would be far better off.

  • 'Useless eaters' - hmmm. Who normally talks about 'useless eaters' and 'the disgusting public' etc. Oh yes, now I recall, it's the illuminazi. They want to get rid of most of the world's population, just like you do. They hate people, just like you do. Interesting.

  • I support the elites. They are the truly brilliant people moving the world forward. Illuminati (plural of Latin illuminatus, "enlightened" or the "Gods"). Not that I would expect a simpleton to know any Latin.

  • I'm the simpleton. Ah, I see. You are the one who wants to bring death and destruction to the victims of your economic policies. I know exactly where you come from and what's more, I know where you going.

  • my spouse and i (both self-employed) pay $1600/month.

i take no medications - our problem is we are both over sixty and live in one of the highest cost states (especially medical)

  • I have close friends with horror stories about Canada. To me, the mere fact that this is even being discussed is bad enough. This "huge problem" is actually a very minor one that could be alleviated by less govt regulation and involvement.

  • Debate is good. You may feel that is the appropriate response, and as such I support your efforts to have your opinions heard by your elected officials.

  • What good is debate when it violates the integrity of the oath of office, even so based upon lies and deceit? The argument that "well they did the bailouts so we need something now" is not very well thought out IMO. That's like saying, you stole $100 from me and bought yourself new clothes, but I want you to steal another $100 from me and buy me a happy meal.

How about leave me the fuck alone? Whatever happened to that fucking idea?

  • I'm not proposing a tit for tat. I merely point out the failings of the Democrats.

  • No. You use the bailout as an endorsement to collectively coerce the citizenry to apply funds towards something you happen to agree with. Not to be abrasive or anything, but it's really that simple. Want to talk about failings of democrats? How about republicans? How about ALL OF THEM? Bailouts, Illegal and immoral wars, defiance of the oath of office (perjury), accepting lobbyists funds, etc. The list goes on for decades. This new scheme of theft is no feat if it passes.

  • That was not the intention of the video, if that was an impression you got it was not actively sought on my part. The focus is on the democrats with this video, you should well know my opinion on all of them from many of my videos. Single payer is likely a dead issue anyway. As for your other points I agree 100%.

  • Ok well sorry for being abrasive. I am just really fed up with people being fans of extortion, so long as it goes towards something they personally agree with. I find the very idea repulsive, even if it's for something I can agree with. You cannot morally say it's "ok" to steal money from me and apply it towards someone else for any reason at all. That's called theft. I just want myself and my family to be left alone.

  • Abrade away my friend. Express your views. We pay collectively through taxes for things. I'd be for doing away with the whole system as I've said many times but it is what it is.

  • THEN FUCKING TEAR IT DOWN VERBALLY.

  • I have in previous videos and no doubt will do so again.

  • Well do you see my problem here? My problem is the acceptance that it's "ok" for the govt to take any more action to grow larger, for any reason. I don't really care if the govt formed it's own arms business and gave away free firearms. I love guns, but I would not agree with it because it's coercing the people to pay for something collectively. It doesn't make it "ok" simply because I think the cause is "noble".

  • I hate to break it to you, but I am Canadian, and not once in my life have I, or anyone I know, EVER had the government interfere in my healthcare. I chose my own doctor...not the government choosing one for me. As for flocking to the states for healthcare...I think not, unless it was a treatment that is unavailable in Canada..YET. I believe everyone should have healthcare. If the US Gov can give trillions of your tax $'s to banks, they can take care of regular people.

  • Good for you. Not everyone is as fortunate as yourself. From what I hear, it really depends on the province you live in. It's not really debatable how much further advanced our healthcare system is than CA's, but that's not really a part of this vid. Again, the notion that because the govt can steal from us all collectively to give to power banksters, makes it "ok" to steal money collectively from everyone and apply it towards healthcare endorses further extortion and corruption.

  • That is not a proposition that I am making. It was not the intention of my video to give that impression.

  • It does not matter if that was the intent or impression really...it is the reality of how any idea (except voluntary) mandated or regulated or controlled by the govt will end up. The govt does not have money trees, it has loans that we pay back via taxes.

  • My husband and me are Canadian (I'm a dual citizen by birth), and we have no problem with Canadian healthcare, but I'm not sure it it's as corrupt in Canada as here in the states.

  • My wife is from PL which has a socialized health care system. She has similar horror stories. She talks about it in the 4 part video I have on my channel if you care to give it a view.

  • I have my pitchfork ready.

  • There is a certain view of single payer which has it that the government will get between you and your doctor. What you have right now is an insurance company come between you and your doctor. Single payer should be a non-profit entity and as such would not have the pressures that insurance companies have to "make money" on your sickness. It is not socialized medicine as the provider end would not be touched in any way, just how they get paid.

  • There is no such thing as "non profit" any more. I find it ludicrous that (not you specifically) people find that they feel healthcare is a "birth right entitlement" or something and should always be free. Let's see how this is appealing at all. Go to 8 years of college and then about 2 years of internship and rack up hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of debt. Then work 80+ hours a week to provide you a "free" service? Fuck you and that job. I don't want it.

  • It is non profit... I just happen to have a 3 million dollar salary and a new BWM... but the bottom line is we have nothing left (no profit) at the end of the year.

  • Exactly!!! Personally, I have an acquaintance who recently left the "non profit" field. There sure is a lot of money in that "non profit" business.

  • Especially when your non profit involves some liberal special interest crap... like saving a random shrimp or bird.

  • Look up Edward G. Griffin's interview with Norman Dodd.

  • lol, don't mean to sound, well, rude, but why would someone who makes 3 millions dollars a year be on YouTube. I worked for a non-profit for six years and they don't make that much money -- in fact, the place I worked at just shut down due to lack of state monies. The good times are over (unless you're a banker!!) :D

  • I do mean to sound rude. If you read the comment and took it as a literal expression of my personal situation and were unable to recognize hypothetical sarcasm... then you are exactly the type of entitlement loving dumb ass I despise.

  • lol, I said that I didn't mean to sound rude -- I didn't say you sounded rude. And, just so you know, sometimes it's difficult to pick up "inflection" in voices when you're reading a one line sentence. ;P

  • lol ok I apologize... that smitty guy was winding me up. You are 100% correct, you cant always pick up the sarcasm in a written statement.

  • my boyfriend has had the same HMO for years... the raise it almost a hundred dollars a year... he works in the film industry and also works for other companies that require a sculptor... he has to pay for his HMO without help from work because it doesn't exist in the industry... there are no benefits... he pays now $700 a month for himself & his two children... they only go for check ups every once & a blue moon... recently we requested blood tests for celiac disease...

  • the ass clown of a doctor refuses to give him the tests because she doesn't want to be wrong about his diagnosis... HMOs have one of the highest malpractice rates in the US... its a fucking joke... and no he doesn't take tons of meds... so ask before jumping to conclusions about people... no body is perfect or fucking psychic...

  • You do love people, don't you? You really care about their feelings. Why are you so full of hate? What has this man done to deserve it? I know I deserve it because I corrected your English, since you know nothing. But this man. He's just giving an opinion.

  • Now you're deflecting. What does Ted have to do with your comment? Hum nothing. I don't always agree with "this man" but I respect his opinion and have always enjoyed his prospective. You on the other hand, decided to come along and correct my word choice. That makes you the know nothing, not I. Are we clear?

  • You accused him of 'dribbling'. That is slander. He was not dribbling. I guessed that you meant to say 'drivel' but you did not finish High School.

  • Now you're exposing yourself as a YouTube idiot. My "dribble" comment was NOT directed towards the person in this video. My comment was directed towards another intellectual midget like yourself. Since it appears to be your first day (and I pity fools) the order in which the comments are displayed is usually not in chronological order.

  • I would not think it free in any sense. All I propose is that you have one entity pay the bills rather than a gaggle of profiteering companies doing it.

  • Who is the entity though?

  • "Without AT LEAST a public option there is no reform."

    nuff said

  • Explain to me what exactly "single payer" is.

  • Single payer is where you have no insurance providers which pay the bills now. In single payer you would have a single entity that would pay the costs of care to the providers. It could be based on Medicare or be an independent entity. Single payer reduces costs on many fronts, and eliminates the profit factor in healthcare.

  • Have you ever been on Medicare?

  • No. The problem with Medicare is that it is being targeted like it has been for years. That needs to end as well, in my opinion.

  • Eh? So you want that available for everyone, but you don't want it to be targeted? I don't get it. I think you're being fed misinformation as far as what exactly the problem is and how large of a problem it really is. The fact of the matter is, this, as well as any other large "government" policy will only further extortion to all of us. This is never the answer to any social or industrial problems we may have. This is completely the wrong direction buddy.

  • As I said it's my view. It's clearly not your view and that's fine with me. I just want people to be involved. The problem as I see it is that the insurance industry is profit driven, it's in their interest to deny your care so they make money. You already have someone standing between you and your doctor.

  • That's bullshit. I'm sure that is what the news tells us all to believe, however, I, nor anyone I even KNOW has ever had something like this even REMOTELY happen. All companies are profit driven. The problem with affordability has more to do with current govt regulation than it does with the actual profit of insurance co's.

  • That's a position. I don't agree with it. I know people who have had care denied because of the insurance company not paying for it.

  • Meh. Then it's time to switch insurance companies. Not force others to pay for someone's because they had bad experiences with shitty companies. Again, govt is NOT the answer here brother.

  • People need to take to the streets.

But not like they did in Pittsburgh, unarmed, without radio communication or weapons and dressed for a day at the beach.

Please people, this is a rebellion, this is not some gay pride parade or charity softball tournament.

You're either in it to win it by any means necessary or just stay home.

  • Yes but we need to again consider what we are doing and perception as well as gains to be achieved. The fact that a mass protest could not be organized or carried out tells me a lot about what needs to be done. More people need to be involved and more planning needs to be done. I'm focusing on getting more people involved so they will come to realize the government doesn't work for them anymore, then they will be prepped for going further.
