@pennyman10 while shrapnel can easily travel at the velocities you mention they dont do so for verry long do to the fact that they have the aerodinamic characteristics of... well a raged chunk of metal and at the distance he seemed to be from the detonation and that you can see the shrapnel skiping along the ground I would say the velocity was probably more like 400 fps(mabe less) once it got to himso even if he had been hit it might have broken the skin but I doubt it would have been fatal.

@flowingwolfpack as I have mentioned on a previos post EOD have verry strict standard operating procedures pertaining to safe distances when performing a controlled detonation and judging from the time between the explosion and the boom I would say they are a good kilometer from the blast so unless they where violating SOP the bomb should be 500 pounds or less. If they where stupid enough to violate SOP then I would hope they where at least smart enough to not record it and put it on youtube.

his job is probably a demolitions expert by what he is doing. or just fucking around. who knows. but if shrapnel is heading your way? can you move 900fps? 1200fps? 1500fps? 1800fps? 2400fps? 3000fps? 4000fps? My guess is no! if that peice of shrapnel was heading for him directly? he would have taken a direct hit. it passes him by 50+yards before he even flinches lol btw Im not trolling. sorry If I come across as a know it all. just giving advice ;)

@pennyman10 while shrapnel can easily travel at the velocities you mention they dont do so for verry long do to the fact that they have the aerodinamic characteristics of... well a raged chunk of metal and at the distance he seemed to be from the detonation and that you can see the shrapnel skiping along the ground I would say the velocity was probably more like 400 fps(mabe less) once it got to himso even if he had been hit it might have broken the skin but I doubt it would have been fatal.

@wild50gunner might have broken the skin? you seriously have no clue what your talking about do you. that statement there was just plain stupid.. no offense. not all peices of shrapnel are the same size. and diameter. when a vehicle explodes like that. 90% or more of it comes apart. including the engine. now think how many bolts and small peices of steel that makes it? if that hits u at 400fps<? it will kill you! if hit in the right place. *TBC*

@wild50gunner to prove that it was of good diameter and velocity. look how far it went. thats easily 600+yards and maintained most of its speed. it missed him by a good 15 feet though. if it had of hit him in the leg? it would have went through both sides of the flesh unless it hit the bone. Fact

@pennyman10 I already explained that to you and if have no intirest in repeating my self, while I am not a trained EOD tech (like the soldiers in the video) I have spent a good amount of time working around large explosions and do indead know what I am talking about (if you have a problem with physics take it up whith god not me) and as a correction to your first comment, yes you are indeed trolling, also judging by the sound (and EOD SOPs) they appear to be a good 1500m from the blast.

@flowingwolfpack as I have mentioned on a previos post EOD have verry strict standard operating procedures pertaining to safe distances when performing a controlled detonation and judging from the time between the explosion and the boom I would say they are a good kilometer from the blast so unless they where violating SOP the bomb should be 500 pounds or less. If they where stupid enough to violate SOP then I would hope they where at least smart enough to not record it and put it on youtube.

I love how NO ONE tells him to duck or watch out, yet he knows it's coming, because he's probably heard a lot of incoming dangerous shit at high volocity. So you can see him start to run before the piece passes him or before anyone yells duck or whatever. Smart.

@Scarecrowman27 the noise of a ricochet is easily heard. if you ever find your hands on a 22lr? shoot a few branch's off trees. you can make out the direction its heading. Im pretty impressed how far that peice of shrapnel went however. but think of it. when a bomb goes off what kills you? the shrapnel. now most know that! but, they dont realise the size of the shrapnel that actually kills u. 1cm size peices! straight through your skull and into the brain. or lungs heart you name it. *TBC*

@toughguynumberone I can assure you it wasn't a 'Nuke' maybe 500lbs of an explosive compound or a block of C4 but looking for the blast and the shockwave it wasn't close to being a nuke
