  • @chronofusion Well, even with a fast connection it takes about 5-15 minutes to download, and back then, the Internet was slooowwww

  • its OSseption

  • We need to go deeper.

  • were els can i get that os download (2.3.2KB) from because the link isn't working for me

  • @bobic171 me neither

  • lol..ubuntu is a really large file? shit..if you call 700 ish megs a large file for an entire operating system that can run stride for stride and often faster than xp. and hell sometimes faster than win 7 x64. if 700 is a LARGE file large enough to complain about..then ya dont have the money to spend on even the cheapest hardware to BUILD a simple computer to run Ubuntu on let alone windows

  • Ive been hearing Linux is an illegal hacker OS, Con someone confirm if this is wrong or right?

  • @AJDemon115 It's completely based off a lie trust me, I've used practically every linux distro out there and it's not even close to illegal.

  • @AJDemon115

When you said "illegal hacker OS" I had a feeling I couldn't express. Ubuntu is in no way illegal, or connected to criminal activity, but yes, it was built by a bunch of cool guys who may or may not hack occasionally.

While you pimped out your desktop with rocketdock, and konfabulator, there's still alot to learn.

By alot, I mean the hyperbole-and-a-half alot. Not "a lot"

  • @v9vREBORN Oh, that Windows XP Video, Lol, that was made some time ago, and my desktop looks different now, and what is konfabulator?

  • @AJDemon115

    Yahoo Widgets

  • @AJDemon115 Linux isn't illegal. I read that same rumor on a humor site about "how to determine whether your kid is a computer hacker." It was meant as a joke.

  • how hard is it to learn everything linux for an experience windows user whos never used linux before?

  • just install it ,

    dont be scared,

    its easy

  • A better idea?

    Get a cd with 700gb

    Download ubuntu

    Burn it

    Insert into disk drive

    OMG?!?!

    Ubuntu!!

    Dont be lazy america!!!

  • @FluffeeTwitter Or just install it inside Windows using WUBI installer it already come with...

with Windows running Insert into disk , and install / restart computer, and pick ubuntu from list ... it's 100% safe \

iif you don't like it restart Windows , and put in cd run installer it will say Ubuntu is already installed would you like to un-install click yes ,,,, Done

  • @maw88ify Do i need to partition my hard drive because i want to have windows and Ubuntu.

  • @FluffeeTwitter No WUBI does not need you to partition your hard drive it just changes the boot screen. You put in the your Ubuntu CD in , and run the installer inside Windows the same way as any Windows application . Than reboot your computer and pick Ubuntu from the boot screen . Easy...

  • @FluffeeTwitter if you want to have both, then yes. there will be a way to choose (during boot up) which OS to run. Study up on how it is done at UBUNTU . com

  • Third link downloads but is 0bytes and nothing in it...

  • Thanks

    Wubi works

  • linux is from finland!!!

  • torrent is the way to go...

  • windows beats mac os x and linux, whatever they do,because of the same reason microsoft beats apple, microsoft is cooler, just because apple has an iphone, microsoft can buy nokia and make a phone as good as the iphone. thumbs up if u agree

  • @TheColynSlayer Typical example of a computer newb. Windows only beats all at software compatibility and gaming. Only 50% of Windows users are gamers, meaning the other 50% could do their activities quite easier on a Mac running OS X, on a Mac running Linux or on a PC running Linux.

Microsoft sucks at making phone OSes. Apple sucks at making phones. Google wins here, with their Android operating system.

  • @TheBetaFox Dude just saying... iPhone 4 does not suck

  • @iamarocker1001 Oh, trust me, most of its hardware sucks. The OS is good, though.

  • @TheBetaFox eh,... can't say no to that ;P

  • @TheColynSlayer Windows is better, yes that 100% true. The only thing is that Microsoft is not better than Apple. Microsoft makes mice, keyboards, the Xbox 360, and OS. If you go to Apple, they make iMacs, Mac Pros, Mac Minis (Which are even lighter than laptops) iPods(Highest selling MP3/MP4 player+Highest selling portable gaming system) OS, Magic Mice, Keyboards, Touch Pads(Magic Track Pad) and not to forget Macbooks. I have proved my point.

  • @iamarocker1001 you forgot to say that microsoft made the original Xbox, and, incredibly, they made a contract with nokia(just like i said in my older comment, seriously,i didn't know they would actually do that,i was just saying)and im sure they will make a similar iphone, ipad(there are Microsoft Tablet PC's for a long time,if u didn't know it)ipod(just as i said, they made a contract with Nokia, and there will be a similar ipod)there are lots of laptops, the PC's,the Mouses, all the stuff(the Xbox).

  • @TheColynSlayer Well, then I'll tell you one thing... Don't say one company is better than the other. I once did that and it was the biggest mistake ever. Let's just think of it as Apple, Microsoft, Sony, HP, and all the other company's are equal because who knows who started it and others stole it. What do you say, deal? :]

  • @TheColynSlayer TiVo , and Amazon Kindle are both Linux, Android phones that use the Linux kernel

Supercomputers / Servers that are Linux make up 91.8%

    Microsoft Windows Server 1.0%.

Android also has way more market share than iPhone.

The only place Linux hasn't taken over in the desktop market.

  • search here on youtube : Unconditional The journey

  • the power to *something* curiosity

  • @xxKikaVikaxx i remember this from a techno song . the power to arouse curiousity.... the golden goal.... (its a nice song) .

1 question . If lets say you run Windows 95 inside a windows 7 machine or linux and at some point Windows 95 crushes.... will it crush the whole machine or just the virtual box ? do you know ? i will try to find the song for you .

  • Can we run a windows Xp inside Linux inside Windows 7 ?

  • @ultranet do you have allot of free space? than yes!

  • @xxKikaVikaxx Artist: Unconditional Title: The Journey Something for your mind your body, and your soul. It's the power to arouse curiosity. The purpose, the goal which one acts on. A journey of force hot like the sun, and wet like the rain. Rhythmatic movements in unison with others prolong an act of sensation with no limits or boundaries. Eternity is past, wrong is right. It's the point of greatest intensity. Pleasures of the highest sense feeling of warmth and security
  • ubuntu =ooobooontooo

  • how about windows virtual pc

  • You can use a program called wubi.exe now and it is super easy to install in Windows and you get a dual boot screen automatically!

  • the quality is not the best...

  • I like Ubuntu better so I would:

    Install Virutal box on Ubuntu

Then install Windows in Virtual Box

  • hey gigafide guy the last link does not work, please update

  • Comment removed

  • Useful video to do something useless!

    Simpler way:

Reach over and grab a Blank CDROM

Burn the ISO to the CDROM

    Restart your computer.

  • @Mikeill408 How about if you want to run Windows, and linux program at the same time?

  • @yelnam2manley You take the disc out then reboot the computer.

  • ok i got the linux i got the vmware, when i click on the last link, it open up but then i have on more stuff, you said that it'll open on a zip file, how can i download the OS image file?

  • wow you need a better quality on that video

  • Get better quality pls

  • I can run windows inside linux.

  • Wubi is an Ubuntu installer for windows.

  • @Dyygn yeah bot of them works the same

  • its pronounced "oo-BOON-too"

  • windows is better

  • @venomsss001 Windows sucks dick.

  • @venomsss001

    fuck windows

LINUX IS BETTER THEN EVERY OPERATING SYSTEM

  • you don't even need to install VMware or Virtualbox. There is an aplication called "moba Live CD" that runs without instalation as a standallone aplication (even from a USB stick) and you can open any ISOs of Linux destributions that you're interested of and try them out while you're under windows. Saves time and nerves. ;)

  • There is more than player. I like to use the newest server. It has the web on it.

  • Thanks for the tip! Although I do prefer wubi, I guess this is good for ppl who just want to try linux or some other OS.

  • wubi rocks! auto install and reboot easy

  • It's not a version, just a different Linux based OS

  • Use Virtualbox. It's free, and much better than VMWare player.

  • don't listen to this guy. vbox pros have good access-file speed but vmware owns it in every way for reading, writing files.

  • @aliendude5300

    Yep VirtualBox is great...

or You can also use WUBI to in install Linux then run Windows 7 inside of Linux on VirtualBox .

  • - @aliendude5300 -

Works about the same as VMware - but you don't have to recompile everything every time updates come out...which is why I switched to it.

  • Comment removed

  • @aliendude5300 False. Vmplayer is just a player. Vmware Workstation is the actual application and it's way better than Virtualbox. Anyone who claims differently just has a hatred towards every company that tries to make money with a well developed tool.

  • @aliendude5300 vmware is better

  • @thenighthawk63 Better? Make you slow maybe.....

  • third link down :( blue host evil

  • The third link doesnt work. Where do I get an OS file?

  • @CogitoErgoCogitoSum now a days, you don't have to install the os file. just install ubuntu and burn it onto a blank cd.

  • Comment removed

  • @CogitoErgoCogitoSum /watch?v=VStSPUob-Dg

watch this video to download popular os (direct download) for FREE

  • @CogitoErgoCogitoSum

dont use that OS use ubuntu... ubuntu(DOT)com

  • Why is that ridiculous? Obviously you didn't read the title of the video: "Run Linux Inside Windows". Your 'method' doesn't achieve that. Your method requires a restart. Which is precisely what this video is intended to avoid! So congrats on ignoring whats in front of you and embarrassing yourself.

  • Excuse me, I saw no restart, and I did see Ubuntu running inside Windows, so, get YOUR head out of YOUR ass and re-watch the video, in fact, this post makes me think you didn't watch it at all.

    Think before you post, please.

  • if the third link is dead try easyvmx

    Google Search:EasyVMX

  • Comment removed

  • Do you want to know why Linux hasn't got drivers? Because hardware manufactures doesn't make them! If ATI or nVidia make a better driver for Linux and Crytek uses OpenGL instead of DirectX, Crysys would work on Linux! The same: if Adobe would get money for porting Photoshop on Linux Distributions, it will do it.

    (sorry for poor english)

  • Why not just use Wubi?

  • Because Wubi doesn't make a virtual machine that runs on windows, you have to reboot to start Ubuntu.

  • custom . nimblex . net costumize linux

  • Use VMware Server Its Just Like Sun Virtual Box !

  • i got the same problem

  • It Doesnt Work? The OS Link? Someone Help Me

  • Mr MagicMarkery windows is user friendly, while LInux is user friendly also for advance users like us

  • wtf, people who says windows is better than linux is an idiot, windows got buggs like hell! LINUX FTW!!!!

  • Every OS has bugs.

I've actually run in to more problems in Ubuntu than I ever have in Vista.

    I guess it's because I'm a linux noob.

  • Theres no debate, windows is Way better than linux.... DOH!

  • If that was sarcasm then ok, but if your being serious, your an idiot.

  • I am serious. and if theres a debate on witch ones better, why is it always Mac vs windows, NEVER windows vs Linux.... Why is Linux roughly 0.97% of the computer market verses roughly 89.00% people use Windows....... Explain that.

  • because linux isnt owned by one company. Its a free operating system. Linux is faster and alot more stable then windows. What i dont get is if its free why doesn't schools and businesses use linux more? Its kinda because Microsoft made it so theres only web sites u can go to with IE (use fire fox ;) and everything is locked into them with certain software. It's not that just because its not popular means it sucks its because microsoft became more popular some how and everyone uses them.

  • Well, I wouldn't say Linux sucks. I do, however, rely heavily on Windows. I wouldn't be able to switch to Linux. But I've never used Linux, so I can't say anything. People just say Linux sucks when they've never tried to learn it. =)

But the majority of the largely-demanded softwares are also developed for Windows. I know Linux can run some Windows-based applications (correct me if I'm wrong). But MS just made their name first.

  • Linux never born as an windows alternative. It was a school project of a student (Linus Torvalds) that interested lot of people that (for free) made of Linux the OS we know today.

  • TRY VIRTUAL PC .

  • Any rational person knows that we should not put a jet engine on the structure of a cart. The consequences will be disastrous ... After this, do not place the blame on the engine, OK! Linux! That's it!

  • i like it,nd it worked its its runninnng as an seperate os on my windows computer..i am not runnin it on an virtual machine

  • bad bad bad quality!!!!!!!!!!!100 times

  • WHAT DO I DO THE 3rd LINK IS BROKEN

  • 3rd link dsnt work...

  • Actually there is a much easier way using Microsoft's Virtual PC.

Install Virtual PC Which creates an isolated volume (like vmware) which even includes a bios of its own. You can then install Ubuntu on that and Linux (or any OS for that matter) will run as if it is a completely separate machine - But it runs inside of a window, with full hardware access. What is really cool is you can treat the psudo network card as two entities and pass data between the two systems over the network. ;-)

  • the OS zip file link is broken... can you please upload it somewhere else or something?

  • My VMWare doesn't load any operating system I just get a black screen on it...

  • need link for image file

  • use virtual box.... does that work for umbuntu. i think it works fr everything.

  • Ubuntu! not Umbuntu!

  • yea lol. i dunno. i cant pronounce or spell it.

  • all links broken

  • will this work with kubuntu

  • I cannot see anything in this video. It is not clear enough. can you give us the clearer video? thank you.

  • &fmt=18

  • 3rd link doesnt work... maybe someone could email it to me????? please??????

  • mad the last link for the small OS image file dont work , fix pls

  • I really want to see something like this but for mac os x

  • there is an app named vmware fusion where you can do this

  • lmfao fix the third link =(

  • link for OS image DOES NOT WORK!!!!!

  • o ya if can u do this with windows 7 in any way

  • the third link is broken

  • linux is not like windows. windows first of all is running same shit kenal it was using in the 80's and linux has a modern updated keranl that is more stable and linux is also allot more safe to use to browse the web. also the linux system is based on the unix system.

  • well Linux has so little virus and spy ware made 4 it.

  • it dont need it son...

  • you said download and "install" ubuntu

  • ..i dont like ubonto..so weird kind of system..if you want to change youre ubonto to XP impossible to change....

  • Your grammar skills are so poor, that did not make sense.

  • Your grammer skills are so poor, that what you typed does not make sense.

  • YEW BEH HIGH!

  • yew beh rite..

  • 3rd link doesnt work for me?

  • also for me.

  • Ubuntu = "OO-BOON-TOO"

  • ok, i get to the point where ubuntu asks you to install or try it, i tried all of them, but whenever i press space, the thing gets stuck

  • You most likely installed a bad ISO, try Georgia Tech.

  • what if i want another OS like windows xp (i mean in the note pad what to do/write)

  • what if i have vista it´s the same stuff?

  • ok i ran linux in virtual machine when i had XP, but when i installed Vista and tried to open the file in Nopepad and change the name, the Notepad would have weird symbols, i mean XP worked perfectly. Whats the problem?

  • Or you can just use Wubi Installer. (Google it)

  • do this slow down ur computer?

  • unless u got lots of ram and some great cpu

  • The video is really good but i cant see what the url is for OS ??

  • You can also use Windows Virtual Machine and actually install Ubuntu.

  • wtf, it uninstalled my frontpage XD

    (installing now)

  • it is a good video, I used virtual pc from microsoft, but there was problems, first you can't adjust the virtual video card some the pictures appear pale, also some copies of ubuntu didn't work, do I have to download vmware cause I don't that speed of connection.

  • Hi again, As I said not all of us have speed connections, I found another program called parallel workstation, it looks like Virtual PC, but it's much better and it's only 21 MB, but only trial, and you have to buy it. search by google parallel workstation.

  • i downloaded all those files in 2 min i have a 25mb/s connection

  • I have a 100kb/s download speed on good days...

oh yeah, I also have a limit of 400mb that I can download in a 24 hour time frame

  • U can have 10000000mb/s connection and still u cant download it that fast as the web page that hosts this files doesn't let u download it that fast u moron

  • i dont giv a fuck i did it any way

  • lol mine used to be dat speed but now mine is 100mb/s connection

  • i think you mean 100 mbits (mbps)

  • I think you mean 100 MegaBitsPerSecond (mbps) ;-)

  • Tinkernut/gigafide, on my linux-window i cant

start... it says that i dont have enouph "pschychical memory to power

    the virtuel machine...

    What do i do????

    /from a big fan, Danngoow

  • Delete all the porn and trash, delete all spyware, try again... if not working try to buy a new computer or pieces of a computer... It should work now.

  • you need more ram

  • @danngoow: start > right click "my computer" > properties > advanced > under performance, settings > advanced > under virtual memory, change > custom size, intial size/maximum size, bigger than the current > set > ok > ok > ok > restart computer.

  • What dose Linux do diffrent to Windows?

    Dose it do anything better?

  • how big are the files?

  • look in the description

  • i think you need to install it, and edit the VM IN the settings of VMware.

  • I think that ubuntu has now a option that permits you to do this, but i think you need restart of the computer :)

  • xXxlllManHacklllxXx .......... exactly thats what i said and some idiot gave me a thumbs down

    virtual box is as easy

as >download > install > startup> make new system > give the system the .iso (in settings)> click start> finish

  • help: i can't download the OS image files from the place he said. there's a 500 error in the page.

  • go to sun and download virtual box... It's better than vmware... At least better than the free version of vmware... Never tested the other versions... Also it's faster ;) Hell faster especialy when you compare the restore machine state feature ;)

  • lol funny photos!

  • linux is better!

  • Somebody please help me! I followed every instruction on this video, including the change to the .vmx file through notepad, and when I open it through VMware it says "No boot filename recieved... Operating System not found". I wanted to try this method because the Live CDs I make never work . I am running Windows Vista Home Premium with 2GB RAM and a 400GB HD. My processor is an AMD64 Live, but my version of Vista is a 32-bit... could I have gotten the wrong iso? Help, I want to be a Linux user!

  • lol its pronounced ooo-boon-two

  • this video is rubbish virtualbox will do this soooooo much easier

  • Well, thanks. Telling everyone it's rubbish without offering any helpful alternatives. Either be nice or helpful, or, pardon me, shut the fuck up.
