UK Apprentice focuses on business tasks. The US version focuses on PR and media. We see more of the house and boardroom than the actual task and even then all we see is people arguing/ bitching. They should do a UK vs US version & watch how we do things in the UK. Seriously some of the contestents on this show had no common sense let alone business knowledge. No wonder ratings slumped

I just got a whole new level of RESPECT for Randall, when he reminded D.T. that the show is called THE APPRENTICE and not THE APPRENTI (meaning more than one Apprentice). If the role would have been reversed; Rebecca would have said the same thing. She would NOT have shared the victory with Randall like that. Rebecca felt a "comradery" with Toral, simply because she was the ONLY one who traveled with Rebecca to the hospital. Randall understands the TRUE meaning of BUSINESS!!

I hated Randal's answer but ultimately he was right. This is not just a job interview, this is also a very grueling and painful game. He won and he deserves to be solely in the limelight.
If I were randal, I would not hire rebecca either!!! Rebecca is good, but randal is better. Some things are like that. When there is 2, one will be better than the other.
I agree that Randal should've won, and maybe trump shouldn't have asked that question to keep the show consistent. But for Randal to deny her like that seems very.... bad. His personality seemed to have changed in the end (even before he was hired), he was pretty aggressive and angry, still great by normal standards but not close to the level of professionalism that Rebecca would've had. This is pretty bad for his reputation...

@commandershadebetter Maybe not, but if you're going through a 13-week job interview process with very little or no sleep at all, and if it's street task, it can be a huge issue. Another thing I would like to add is that Rebecca is no Omarosa. She took on task by task, whether she was in a leading role or not, and never complained about getting around on crutches. Omarosa was hit on the head by a little piece of plaster, and made it sound like she was severely injured by a brick.
I read all the comments and I understand you guys saying Randall meant tonight,, but the second Trump put that question out there he changed the rules.. As soon as the question left Trumps lips Randall only had two choices to be the guy who showed integrity and gave Rebeka a job or to be the guy that took away Rebeka's chance at 100.000.000. She is a nice, soft and beautiful woman on the outside, but she's very tough mentally on the inside. She's very professional and very mature for her age. This Season's apprentice is outstanding! Rebecca can be hired but not on the same night as Randal...He should take all the applaud.. Rebecca is very good but would be ridiculous to offer Randal and Rebecca a job on the same basis..there a clear winner and Rebecca can still be Randal's apprentice before stepping up to Trump. Rebecca lost two tasks as project manager, badly. She shouldn't have chosen Toral, who was totally unproven, for the final task. In fact, she had no reason other than personal friendship to not bring Toral into the boardroom when she was PM; that made her team angry at Toral, then Rebecca promised them all that Toral would definitely step up on the next task which was a ridiculous thing to say. I think Randal did the right thing by saying don't hire Rebecca.
There's apparently misunderstanding here. Randal was referring to how many got hired that night, not overall. It's just how the show goes, and it should stick. Plus, we can't take it out on Rand. Trump had no business asking him to "bend the rules" to have a double hiring. Andy (season 2) got hired long after Kelly Perdew took the title.
at the end of day, Randall has shown his negative side, being selfish. The title is his already even if he hires Rebecca. That question from Trump is a leading question. Trump was checking how he really is as a person, and not as a businessman. I think DT was disappointed with his answer not to hire Rebecca.

I don't think Rebbecca was worth being in the final. I think Alla could have been there instead. But, anyway, Randal was a clear choice. I don't think it was even close this time. The closest final was the first season's final. Where I actually thought Kwame deserved to win more, but obviously since it was a really close call, both him and Bill deserved to win. 2nd and 3rd season's apprentices weren;t that good as 1st and 4th season's, in my opinion.
1. Randal said "Mr. Trump, if you want to hire someone 'Tonight', that '1' must be me." Essentially, he emphasised on the word tonight on TV, which indicates he has no problem with Trump hiring Rebecca off television.
2. In this current day in time, as of 2010, Rebecca currently works for CBS as a news anchor in the financial sector.
So essentially, all is well in the land of The Apprentice. Intelligent, fair, and honest people truly earned great returns. ;-)

He is one of the most educated men. He won and was endorsed by everyone on that show. It wouldn't be right for him to share the spotlight when he earned it. Business is business, emotion shouldn't be tied into things like this. Really good call in my opinion.
I lost all respect that I had for the person who won here. When Trump ask the question, "if the winner would hire the other candidate." I think the winner should have said yes. Why? Because Trump had fired more than one person threw this weeks. In the same manner he could have hire more then one good candidate. His company would have gain to excellent people. I agree with Randal that there should only be One Winner, The Apprentice. DT can always hire Rebecca anytime in the future, after all he did ultimately hire Andy, a candidate from Season 2. Rebecca remains DT's favourite and this is yet another case of DT's inclination to show favourism.

I read the comments before I watched this segment, and there was way too big a deal made about it. Don't pity Rebecca, if she's second, she's second. That was the decision, stick to it.

Good to see Kendra at the beginning of the last segment. I thought Trump could have hired them both. Extraordinary that he should ask Randal that question and from what he said would have acted on his answer.
He could have said, "I am very happy to have won the competition and to have been named The Apprentice. Certainly The Trump Organization benefits from hiring the most quality people it can, so if you have an additional position for Rebecca, that's excellent and I definitely recommend hiring her for that!"
That way he would be affirming that he was the winner, and The Apprentice, while still being gracious and helping Rebecca get a job with The Trump Organization too.

I lost a bit of respect for Randal in the last few minutes of this years interview process.He turned the ending of his interview into a egotistical ,power trip,instead of hiring a great employee for the Trump Organization.

He is totally right that it was intended for 1 person to get the job...also he had an inkling that Trump may offer both of them jobs due to something Randall had said earlier. Frankly, there is only 1 apprentice, and Trump didn't need Randall's opinion b/c it wasn't Randall making the decision (if Trump wanted to also hire Rebecca, he should have). But, it was completely inappropriate for Trump to even put Randall in that situation.

@commandershadebetter Maybe not, but if you're going through a 13-week job interview process with very little or no sleep at all, and if it's street task, it can be a huge issue. Another thing I would like to add is that Rebecca is no Omarosa. She took on task by task, whether she was in a leading role or not, and never complained about getting around on crutches. Omarosa was hit on the head by a little piece of plaster, and made it sound like she was severely injured by a brick.

As soon as the question left Trumps lips Randall only had two choices to be the guy who showed integrity and gave Rebeka a job or to be the guy that took away Rebeka's chance at 100.000.000. She is a nice, soft and beautiful woman on the outside, but she's very tough mentally on the inside. She's very professional and very mature for her age. She was surprisingly harsh to Randal when he screwed up in task9, and to any other candidate who didn't pull their weight.

This Season's apprentice is outstanding! Rebecca can be hired but not on the same night as Randal...He should take all the applaud.. Rebecca is very good but would be ridiculous to offer Randal and Rebecca a job on the same basis..there a clear winner and Rebecca can still be Randal's apprentice before stepping up to Trump. Rebecca is still young and made a few poor judgement calls. Great show!

Rebecca lost two tasks as project manager, badly. She shouldn't have chosen Toral, who was totally unproven, for the final task. In fact, she had no reason other than personal friendship to not bring Toral into the boardroom when she was PM; that made her team angry at Toral, then Rebecca promised them all that Toral would definitely step up on the next task which was a ridiculous thing to say. I think Randal did the right thing by saying don't hire Rebecca.

There's apparently misunderstanding here. Randal was referring to how many got hired that night, not overall. It's just how the show goes, and it should stick. Plus, we can't take it out on Rand. Trump had no business asking him to "bend the rules" to have a double hiring. Andy (season 2) got hired long after Kelly Perdew took the title.

I don't think Rebbecca was worth being in the final. I think Alla could have been there instead. But, anyway, Randal was a clear choice. I don't think it was even close this time. The closest final was the first season's final. Where I actually thought Kwame deserved to win more, but obviously since it was a really close call, both him and Bill deserved to win. 2nd and 3rd season's apprentices weren;t that good as 1st and 4th season's, in my opinion.

2 important things to note:
1. Randal said "Mr. Trump, if you want to hire someone 'Tonight', that '1' must be me." Essentially, he emphasised on the word tonight on TV, which indicates he has no problem with Trump hiring Rebecca off television.
2. In this current day in time, as of 2010, Rebecca currently works for CBS as a news anchor in the financial sector.
So essentially, all is well in the land of The Apprentice. Intelligent, fair, and honest people truly earned great returns. ;-)

I lost all respect that I had for the person who won here. When Trump ask the question, "if the winner would hire the other candidate." I think the winner should have said yes. Why? Because Trump had fired more than one person threw this weeks. In the same manner he could have hire more then one good candidate. His company would have gain to excellent people. And you can hear it in the crowd that most people agree with what I just said. I am disappointed at the winner.

I agree with Randal that there should only be One Winner, The Apprentice. DT can always hire Rebecca anytime in the future, after all he did ultimately hire Andy, a candidate from Season 2. It makes no sense for him to hire both on the show now, after their weeks of tough competition to emerge as the Sole Winner, which is what The Apprentic is all about. Rebecca remains DT's favourite and this is yet another case of DT's inclination to show favourism.

Randal is so admirable and intelligent that:
- Missed details in a poster during the radio station task.
- Tried to organize a big event even when he saw that the weather was going to be uncertain.
- Instead of finding a way to leave open the opportunity to Rebecca, he has to say "there is one and only one Apprentice.".
Not to mention the alter ego that he shows in the boardroom during season 5 where it can be noticed that he speaks more than he should (even Mr.Trump has to call his attention).

He creates a TV show that makes him money, increase his fame, and advertise his business and his partners' businesses. He could have said, "I am very happy to have won the competition and to have been named The Apprentice. Certainly The Trump Organization benefits from hiring the most quality people it can, so if you have an additional position for Rebecca, that's excellent and I definitely recommend hiring her for that!"
That way he would be affirming that he was the winner, and The Apprentice, while still being gracious and helping Rebecca get a job with The Trump Organization too.
