R68 which runs 8 cars is the same length as 10 R160s. The cars are not longer. R160s = 60' = 600 Feet for 10 cars, R68 = 75' = 600 for 8 cars. All 75FT cars have to stop @ the 10 car marker.
yeah, apparently NYCT wanted to save money by making longer cars, which means less on each train, but this presented many problems, which is why the R143s and R160s went back to 60 feet long, although rumors have it the R179s will be 75 feet long.

yeah ur right about that. THe L which was the 143 is an 8. The R68 (N,W,Q) is 8 BUT is the length of a 10 car train

the r68 is not 10 cars it's 8 cars in total BUT its length is as long as a 10 car train(75ft)
