Metroid isn't a shoot em up series though they said they'd focus more on action this time (much to many a fans' dismay). Metroid's mostly about figuring things out while every so often killing wildlife that gets in your way, Metroid Prime isn't an FPS series, its a first person adventure with a gun that focuses mainly on exploration and atmosphere
