Depends. Shit like Cannibal Corpse is just boring, but I do like a lot of death metal bands. There's too much variation within 'death metal' just to dismiss it all, imho. :p

OSDM bands that don't suck: Autopsy, Entombed, iniquity and morbid angel.

Brutal death metal bands suck sorry.

Melodeath has some great bands, namely insomnium and Be'lakor.

And there's great progressive death metal bands as well: Opeth, Edge of sanity, Dan swano, Empyrean Sky, Dissilussion and Cynic.(The last two I don't like but they are surely great).

Digging Dan Swano, Empyrean Sky and Disillusion, hadn't heard them. Agree on your other points too. Brutal death metal only works with technical death metal, and even then rarely (Necrophagist, Origin?)

I also like doomy death metal like Barren Earth and old Amorphis (even funeral death metal like Esoteric), dirty, thrashy death metal like Tukkanuotta and The Scourger, proggy stuff by In Mourning and Gojira, oldies like Death and Atheist, crazy(good) Demilich and Adramelech, Vader, and... 8D

You can believe your own cocksure BS if you like, but Funeral is correct - Erik did not drum on any studio album for Immortal. When you listen to PH, you listen to Abbath drumming. You don't need to be a wikiwarrior to know basic facts about the bands you like.

Drumming on BitN is actually pretty similar to PH. BitN's was a bit sloppier and more chaotic, but then so was the entire album.

Abbath recorded 2 album: Pure Holocaust and Battle in the North. Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism had Armagedda and Horg joined the band for Blizzard Beasts. And to me, PH and BitN sound quite identical for the drums...

old basses was abbath demonaz used to be lead guitar but they simply could not hire a new lead because come on face it no one else is qualified other then abbath. The new basses sucks hes botched more then one performance but he knows the materia.
