  • Thanks for the video, I've been trying to teach my Christian family that this is not evil and this is of great help to me

  • why do people keep calling Buddhism a "religion"?

  • i love buddhism....i am going to be buddhist..i am a hindu

  • Have To Chang the Title of this video then video will be great it self . no man has convert to Buddhism until today its ideology of god ism that convert a man to ay other fath. great video. Buddhism is not about doctrine or dogma, but mindfulness

  • im having a hard time teaching christians buddhism,i teach them about buddhism and they dont care, they say buddha is satan and he is evil,(i any of u have studied christianity u already know the bible says to stab infants, kill unbeleiver, own slaves, and rape women as a puinishment),when i show them what is in the bible they claim god is still good & stabbing babies and slavery is good,i dont get it how can a person say it is evil to stab babys then say it is good to stab babys because god says so

  • @Buddhist1986 There is no need to teach them Buddhism. Christians are very stubborn in their dogmatic religion. If they have accumulated sufficient positive karma, they will see Buddhism one day and they will seek it.

  • @yfahlin one important thing that Buddhism teach me is to be respectful to other religions...I stop mocking all other religions because they help increase overall human spirituality. Dalai Lama has specifically mentioned to stay respectful to all religions.

  • @Buddhist1986 I have read your comments about Christianity, and I have to tell you that some of your information is false. The bible does not teach that slavery is good, or to kill unbelievers. I will say that God is very good, it is we (people) who need to improve.

  • Buddhism is a beautiful, wise religion. It advocates a certain path, but does not force anyone to act in a certain way under threat of "hell". Christianity/Islam is like a parent who tells their child to behave or else they will be punished. Buddhism is like a parent who tells a child that it is in their own and everyone else's best interests that they act in a certain way.

  • Im believe in Y'shua but I find the philosophy presented by the Buddha very interesting and try and follow some. The way I see it you can follow the philosophy of Buddha with the solid philosophy and theology of Y'shua and worship the one true Almighty G-d of Israel.

  • I believe Buddhism is Truth..but I also believe that the essence of our being, our Buddha Nature, will guide itself to truth, when given enough time and with the help of Bodhisattvas. That's why I dont like to tell people to convert to Buddhism unless they are interested. For perhaps for some people, other religions encourage people to live a more virtuous life.

  • Buddhism isn't even a religion. Its a philosophy and a beautiful and progressive philosophy at that. Whoever made this video should change the title and take the word "convert" out of it. The last thing we want to be seen as dogmatic.

  • Buddhism has no god. you- yourself is responsible to to enlightenment.

It is the only religion in the world that does not enforce any one to believe. you are free to question anything before accepting.

  • anyone practicing any religion or living a wholesome and moderate way of life is practicing Buddhism. It is a philosophy on how to live in moderation and free ourselves from suffering due to attachment to worldly pleasures

  • Can one actually even convert to Buddhism? Who is doing the converting? Buddhism is not a religion or even a belief system. Its simply a method for discovering reality. The ulitmate truth, no need to convert to reality.

  • @Juanster23 "Can one actually even convert to Buddhism? Who is doing the converting?" of course you can. an aspect of taking ones vows of refuge in the 3 jewels entails not accepting other doctrines, that's conversion in a nutshell. misconceptions about Buddhism abound.

  • @BillKiernan Religions all over the world divide people and place them into catagories. The muslim, the jew, the christian, the buddhist. Buddhism is not about doctrine or dogma, but mindfulness. If you're mindful you'll see that all those divisions that organized religions do is create conflict and disorder. Buddhism not a religion but more a practical way to end suffering. You don't need to convert to the end of suffering.

  • @BillKiernan buddhists are not supposed to try to get people to leave one religion to accept buddhism. a buddhist can also be a christian, a muslim, even a jew

  • @BeingNobody1956 "even a jew"???

  • @BeingNobody1956 Jesus is the true. Buddha was looking for a true. Also, Buddha can be wrong. People workship god not workship Buddha who was human.

  • i converted to buddhism from christianity last year

  • I reject 100% all claims of the supernatural, but I still think Buddhist teachings are good to base your morals on.

  • HAPPY VESAK DAY! Today is the full moon day of May. Buddhists celebrate, to remember the Birth, Enlightenment and Buddha's entering of Parinibbana (passing away of physical body) Buddhists go to temples on this day to chant to invoke blessing, protection and observe the precepts. It is a day of joy for mankind to remember the path that the Buddha showed us. The eightfold path that leads to Nibbana. The eternal, blissful mental state.

    DO GOOD

    AVOID EVIL

    PURIFY THE MIND

    THIS IS BUDDHA'S MESSAGE

  • Convert to say goodby to everything worldly on this world.

Because Buddhims says they suck because they keep you from getting enlightened. And once you are enlightened, you are nothing. Just like that, puff.. Whatever though, if you are poor, do it by all means, but if you are middle class or rich, you should either consider selling all your property and join a monestary.

  • You just can't give up everything as a Buddhist and join a monastry. There are so many people have to be on the waiting list to join a good temple. Others have to be evaluated before being accepted. It's not so easy like you think. What you have seen or heard is not the true or pure kind of temple. In short, to be a monk is not as easy as you think. Why do you think people want to be monks even they are not paid for it? Think again.

  • 1. Tomar17, I do not believe there is God as a creator. No body manages the attainment of Nirvana (Nibbana). Anyone attains it by self. I do believe that we'll be born again (not reincarnation). In this unverse there are 31 roams of existance. We r in the Human world. There r 4 perdition roams of suffering (hell, hungry gosh, titans & animals (with insects); 6 heavens; 16 Brahmas & 4 pure consciouness roams. After death, we'll be born in 1 of 31 roams. What roam ? This will be determined by

  • 1. Tomar17, I do not believe there is God as Creator. In this Universe there are 31 planes of existance. We are in the Human Plane. There are 4 lower roams of perdition (hell, titans, hungry gosh and animals(includings insects); 6 heavens; 16Brahmas and 4 roams of pure consciousness). After we die we will be born again in one of these roams. What roam? This will be determined by the quality of our mind. If U do meditation to the stage of absorption called jahna, U will bw born in 1 of 16 Brahmas

  • Hi,

As Buddhists, do you guys believe in a God or some entity that made the world or manages this Nirvana attainment?

So I mean do you believe it is true about reincarnation after you die? Or do you view Buddhism as a good philosophy and way of life to control one's ego and desires, but not necessarily "true"?

    This is an honest question.

    peace

  • We believe in Samara, Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and Arhat are one who got to Nirvana, But Gods can be in Samara. Human is too. As a Buddhist, we considered no one can creat human except yourself. Human body is so hard, you know.

  • in buddhism the things that you ask abou tis somethign that you must decide upon for yourself. some practice with reincarnation and/ or god in there belief system but on my path gave up those superstisions. the buddha himself said to question everything even if he said it. good luck

  • Tomar17, Buddhists neither believe nor care whether there is God. They assume the universe is in a perpetual stage of existence with neither beginning nor ending. They worship nature, or creation but not its Creator. They seek inner peace through meditation & trying to be & do "good." True Buddhists don't believe in reincarnation as death is the final stage of nonexistence. If you ask me whether it works, I would tell you, as a former Buddhist that Buddhism is living in an ocean of lies.

  • everything is living in an ocean of lies, life is staying afloat long enough to realise the only truth is the people drowning in it lol.

  • I learnt alot in the 60s while staying In Delhi. Nirvana has opened up many paths for me oneness with unconditioned consciousness (the absolute). Be with Buddha.

  • I am from the us and just coverted to buddhism i created my own shrine and collected buddha statues and am attending a monastery service but i want meditation tips please

    help me

  • My tips are to not focus on worshipping Buddha statues or monks but to study and observe Dhamma using your logic and wisdom. Please search "Buddhism and Sects by Ajahn Brahm" in youtube. You will have a good starting point. In that channel, there is one clip talking about meditation also.

From my own experience, meditation is to practice mindfulness by walking or sitting. You observe your mind at the present. You goal is to purify your mind so it is free from greed, anger, and delusion.

  • hi I'm from China and I do meditation almost everyday. Actually there're various ways to do this, for me I rehearse sutras, for most of the people i guess they repeat the name of Amitobo (a buddar mostly 'used' in pure land section of buddhsim). What you actually need to do is to "focus" your "Mind" and always try to "observe" it. You can also try to REALLY find out "what " or "who" is reading, learning, etc. This, you may also call it meditation (in buddihsm name is never the important).

  • Why are chinese converting to islam? this is so wrong.

buddisum is love peace caring for life and

    muslims hate kill and misery

please every1 dont change to islam evil ways, how can we stop this?

  • I haven't seen anything about Chinese converting to Islam in any significant numbers. There are many converting to Christianity, but Buddhism is making a serious comeback.

  • @yummymmmnice Buddha emphasized love. So if we work on our compassion it makes a change and shift in the universe.

    Namo Amida butsu

  • @ yummymmmnice Buddhism is the fastest growing religion in China right now.

  • Being a rather inexperienced Buddhist from the U.S., I gather that the statues and pictures of Buddha serve more as friendly reminders rather than objects of worship. We are raised in such a way that makes understanding and accepting Eastern philosophies nearly impossible without a constant, focused concentration on shattering the teachings throughout our upbringing. I have no opinion on shrines (I don't have one), but I do have little reminders for when I start getting crazy. :)

    Namaste

  • whoever said stop workshipping a statuehas no knowledge ofbuddhism because the statue represents the buddha

  • buddha said this himself.....read before u write

he said dont hold any images of me, a statue is an image.

  • Worship nature....oh wonderful!

  • "All component things in the world are changable. They are not lasting. Work hard to gain your own salvation. Do you best"... The Buddha's last words...

  • This Religion has no god because there ist no god. We woreship the enlighted mind of all Buddhas, which helps us to become a Buddha.

  • I really love these beautiful teaching

of Lord Buddha! Thanks so much for the video!

  • Why this faith has no God? Please don't worship statue..

  • Ignorant comment. With that stance would it be alright if I said "why follow islam? Please don't blow people up.."

  • v put our hands together as mark of respect to all living thing. v put a buddha statue at home or office to respect and remind us of his teaching. do you have your family photo at office, home or pocket? can i conclude you worship these people rather than what i explained at the above? the truth is within us not a god created in our mind and worshiped with everyone facing another person's back side on the same direction! sorry no offence but try to do some homework b4 conclusion!
