Robert Englund is scary lookin' even without his mask. Jackie isn't scary at all. And neither is his voice. Robert's Freddy voice is deep and perverted, like Freddy. Hell I think I coulda done a better Freddy, I got a big ass nose, and can mock Englund's character's voice well...I do it frequently. lol

Look to your right and you will see a link with Englund discussing Freddy Krueger's voice. And besides, I make music semi-professionally, auto-tune is a pitch corrector, not a vocal sound changer. Those are other effects that are used in the studio.
Why does everybody have to make a big deal about the new Freddy. Jackie didn't do such a bad job at him! Robert Englund himself even helped him with the Freddy voice and personality and all that junk. I personally like his version. That's my opinion though.

@MsMclovin2000 in the 84 version originally he was going to be a child molester. they were told he couldn't be cause of a series of high profile molestation cases in california. the cops did have him on trial but cause the cop who discovered him didnt have a warrant, the evidence couldnt be used so he got free. in the 2010 version hes a molester, cause of that being the original story. the parents didnt want their children to have to go through testifying so they burnt him instead of the cops.
This is a remake, it wouldn't exist without the original so we have to compare, especially when this crappy remake doesn't have anything original in it, but just try to copy the first movie, less the talent of Wes Craven...

When I first heard that they made a movie about Incredible Hulk before , I was so excited, but got disappointed after watching it. Good thing, they made another version, and it was justified. I hope they'll make another version of this because it's disappointing. Maybe they just asked one of the crew member from the set to put on costume and makeup, and act as Freddie....They should have gotten a real actor. People will notice if the actor sucks even with the thick prosthetic.

KATIE cassidy the only thing good about the remake mmmm. The make-up is horrible on the new one, the old one had traces of muscle, flesh, bone, etc. Which fits the original storyline of someone being burned alive. The new one looks like a burn victim.

Always hard to see when a no name director do a remake of a great stuff. Freddy is untouchable. It's like to make a remake of Alien, Star Wars Trilogy (old) or Terminator. @maximum18 Freddy was not wrongfully accused. The way the character is in the Nightmare films is that Freddy was a child murder and when the parents of the victims found out, Fred was arrested but found not guilty. So the parents burned him alive to stop him from murdering their young.

KATIE cassidy the only thing good about the remake mmmm. The make-up is horrible on the new one, the old one had traces of muscle, flesh, bone, etc. Which fits the original storyline of someone being burned alive. The new one looks like a burn victim.
The new one sounds like someone with down syndrome and is LAME, the original freddy had a sick, sadistic, dark brooding voice. He took joy in bringing terror, this one is seriously trying too hard and failing miserably

Always hard to see when a no name director do a remake of a great stuff. Freddy is untouchable. It's like to make a remake of Alien, Star Wars Trilogy (old) or Terminator. And for real: threre's nothing new in that remake. They only want to show more gore than thrill. In one year this remake is forgotten or you can buy it for only a few bugs.

@bbbbil The movie didn't kick ass, just look at the reviews from people who have actually seen the movie. There is nothing exciting about it and the new Freddy just doesn't cut it. The guy is good but he is no Robert Englund. The new Freddy's mask is just horrible, the original looked much better and not as fake, the original deaths were also better. Nothing is ever going to be Tina's death.

I swear I am a true Freddy Kruger fan I still got all seven of them on VHS for crying out loud but all i'm saying is I think it's about time they come back with a real old school horror do i think this new film would be better then the original one? Maybe not but I'm still going to go see it because I'm a true fan of his films

i mean its gonna be hard not having Robert as Freddy... and it will never be the same... but give the new guy a chance.. Robert is getting old and has arthritis he said it was painful to play in freddy vs jason.. he didnt even want the role.. its not gonna be the same without him but i believe this new movie will be pretty good...

I think Robbert Englund is the best Freddy ever. The new Freddy will be great but nothing like Robbert Englund.
I was a huge fan of Freddy growing up. It litterally scared the shit out of me and got me turned on to horrow movies. Robbert is the best. He always has been and always will be.

@maximum18 Freddy was not wrongfully accused. The way the character is in the Nightmare films is that Freddy was a child murder and when the parents of the victims found out, Fred was arrested but found not guilty. So the parents burned him alive to stop him from murdering their young.

They are not trying to top the old freddy and disgrace Englund ok..... They are just trying to breathe new life into an old classic...They are paying homage more than anything!!! They are going to take Freddy back to his roots and make him scary again. I mean look at the last couple of freddy's movies he is in real need of a overhaul!!!!

I was a huge fan of Freddy Kreuger growing up. I still think it won't be the same without Robbert Englund but like you said Jackie Haley might be the Joker in the new Nightmare on Elm St. movie.

@mjt19741 He even look scarier well Robert Englund he is more handsome than the guy that plays Giraldo in Human Target but hey Haley is much more like a least attractive guy that is what makes him scarier, I did watch all the old Freddy Flicks even the one that use the be the first Scary movie on 3D in a way if it is not for Haley's role the Chris Erickson will play the role and will look like the on Robert plays after all I will plan to see it..

I'm so fuckin' stoked for this. At first I thought it was going to be a shit movie without Robert Englund. But after finding out that it's going to be the same guy who played "Rorschach" in the Watchmen movie I think we can all rest easy knowing he'll do the role just as much justice as the great Englund before him. Not so sure about Michael Bay though... Alls I know is that I'm going to shit a brick if I see Transformer anywhere.
