  • Great Job. Wood is awesome!

  • so instead of using metal, you use tree's and still emit shitloads of C02, its all so clear now...

  • R.I.P trees

  • What kind of glue do you use?

  • @325yai1 gorilla glue maybe?

  • see its finished now.

  • I built a redneck jeep out of wood and it still keeps going.

  • Nice work, From The King of wood automotive crafts Pierre!!!

  • We will have plenty of room to drive them with all the trees cut down!....no brainer on the material source eh?

  • I don't think metal is a bad material for vehicles at all. In fact the car is already the most recycled piece of technology on the planet. Every bit of steel in your average sedan has probably been used for something else. All you could make out of this thing when it's no longer usable would be paper, and not very good paper either.

  • God you people are so stupid.. wake up and look around you... speed boats, sail boats, airplanes, tennis rackets, hockey sticks, skis, surfboards, guitars, and on and on.. all these things are out in the weather and/or under extreme stress and you can't see a wooden car? STUPID!!

  • i bet this doesn't have very good crash test ratings.... and what happens when it catches on fire?

  • Eco-friendly/Renewable?! What about all the glue being used to laminate the wood?? And the fact that we are already destroying our planet's forests? Sure this is an interesting novelty, but using conventional, endlessly recyclable metals makes a lot more sense, in my opinion.

  • @ixmoylan that was my first thought but then i was thinking, what if we get rid off of this metal, when just concentrate on wood as a major material, then people will be forced to take care of the planet by planting more trees as they will be useful to them now, and wood can be recycled too, so it wouldn't force the production to stop until trees grow. im thinking thats a way to actually save the planet. people now dont really give a fuck about the world, when it becomes their business thou...

  • fucking termites whould put a stop to this madness

  • okey if its stronger than some metals, but how long it will last 2~3 years maximum until it breaks down

  • @W00tMUKI

Yeah like all wooden boats that only last 3 years. So where is the stupidity well you drink from every day?

  • I radiation to wood eliminates all the natural organizims that cause wood to rot , this has been used to treat the wooden floors for semi trailers for 40 plus years , those floors , exposed to weather on the bottom of the trailer , continuous stress have proven durable for 20 plus year s of service

  • There are alot of questions to be asked by this phenomenal concept and its use of unusual materials.

  • the engine will surely catch fire to something unless he protects the wood with something surrounding the engine bay like sheet metal or something that absorbs the heat well :)

  • @david1991rules4life apart from the exhaust.

  • @david1991rules4life Yea just like all that plastic wiring + rubber hose all over a cars engine constantly catches fire. Oh but it doesn't does it

  • @fizzguts ok w.e lol i can't find my comment at all.

  • guitars are made of wood, so its a great idea!

  • its a wooden car. i would drive one, but it wooden go.

  • morgan has beening doing it for years and marcos

  • lol it's over a yr old now..

i wonder how far they've got with it.

the super glue probably took the car apart when they put wheels on it

  • So trading in cars would be like recycling? There wouldn't be any used cars. They would all be broken down and put back together for new ones.

  • Neat Idea. I heard about using Jute composit on the bodywork but buiding the intire car out of wood is nice.

And when youre done with the car just put it in the chimney :)

  • Lot of work. Maybe the body could be made industrially by pressing wood cellulose in a mold, possibly adding wax for water resistance? Or treating the cellulose with heat (there's at the heat treated wood that stands water better)...

  • actually thats pretty bad ass. not far fetched. really who would have thought lil tiny peoces of glass would be sturdy, but we do got fiberglass. on a side note thoes wheels would PERFECT for the amish with style

  • If it rains these cars are doomed.

  • I would like to see car from regular timbers, with aluminium or iron ends(presed onto timber) and joined with screws and bolts, Iron end can be welded together to make structural integrity. Surface from car(fill areas in roof and doors ) with hotwire cuted parts from styrofoam of polyuretan foam covered wtih thin layer glass cloth gued with epoxy resin. Light strong structure durable to weather, glued with PUR foam into car frame. Why dont do this car makers to make incerdible light and cheapcar

  • yea,,,very durable wood,,,it wouldn even stand the rain !!!! fire !!!! termites ,,wood!!!

  • and wat if termites eat ur car lol

  • you can go in the woods and cut another one...lmfao

  • come on people dont be stupid. making cars out of wood isnt practical. you know this car would cost a lot. custom is the key word. plus fuck the forests. people are fucking retarded when they talk about the atmosphere. Go take an astrobiology course. The ocean and plate tectonics dissolve carbon dioxide. tree contributes VERY little to the carbon cycle. Infact earth worms do a better job of filtering carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than trees. Fuckin ignorant hippies. "save the trees" my ass

  • This gives "he torched my car" a entirely new meaning

  • Wooden car isnt a good idea, becouse even now huge ammounts of forests are being cut town, and if the future cars will be made of wood then the forest cuting will increase many many times.Forest dont grown over night so the planet will be scrued if cars will be made of wood, becouse forest clean the air of carbon dioxide.

  • yah, but how would it hold up in a tropical enviorment? would'nt it just rot?

  • 700 horse eh? lets see some dyno sheets

  • @woolridgewilly Its from a Cadilac Northstar dummy, look it up.

  • Eco not-friendly

  • @deadboy164 What digging a huge minning pit with diesel tractors transporting ore to a smelter transporting that overseas to a car factory where its cut shaped and welded is more friendly than a tree growing in the woods? wow your retarded.

  • You can always buy your body parts from the home depot in lamber section in the case if you will get into an accident and you will need some parts to fix your car

  • are there actually any videos showing this thing driving?

i see a lot of clips of it sat around or being built - any evidence that it actually drives? :(

  • Glad they thought of the header issue, getting your wood on fire is never a good thing.

  • 1929 Chev's where wood, with metal over top. Still got ours

  • nigga u wanna fly!!!! its gonna be to lite

  • This is no big deal ever hear of a pine wood derby?

  • termites will eat it!

  • warning with the thermites!!! smoking inside is not allowed!!

  • very pretty for the guilligan island!!

  • something tells me jay leno is gonna buy this.

  • what ! 700 Hourse power Eingine ur using .Is this car going to space ... or is the car too heavy .??? I can make car much lighter .I liter petrol 500 to 1000 Kilometer ...

  • fuckin beaut

  • if you get into an accident with one how would they repair the body?

  • didnt they say it is stronger than steel

  • @DheellD yes LVL, very strong. they use on building sites to increase beam spans. all it is many layers of timber super bonded together to get a product better than original timber it was at the raw stage.

  • @DheellD Joe said it has a strength to weight ratio that is greater than steel or aluminum.

  • @piper4seeformerly With a saw and glue, or maybe some creative panels for section replacement if necessary. :)

  • @piper4seeformerly Then you have just too drive very carefull not to crash.

  • @piper4seeformerly, Similar to getting in a wreck with a fiber glass car, get a new body!!!...lol

  • @piper4seeformerly wood glue!!! hee hee....

  • @piper4seeformerly just buy wooden bumpers mirrors etc they dont repair steel cars in an extremely bad crash so why would they do wood ?

  • @piper4seeformerly some duct tape will do :P hahah

  • I'll wait for the flying cars thank you lol

  • @piper4seeformerly lol not even that, the splinters will break (As they will become sharp when breaking big and small woods) and kill the passenger one accident instant death, eco friendly should go to a certain level

  • @Hayri491 It was just a fun idea. Doubt it will ever go into production. When being based on being ecofriendly I would prefer this over a Prius.

  • @b4igetu lol whys everyone hating the prius xD

  • @b4igetu Yep it will be made for showing and show off puroses but I dont it will be going on the road

  • @piper4seeformerly You'd have to replace the entire part...or repair it and cover the entire part with cherry veneer again.

  • @piper4seeformerly woodshop

  • @piper4seeformerly

    Wood Putty Filler? haha

  • @piper4seeformerly glue :)

  • @piper4seeformerly glue more plywood together

  • @piper4seeformerly krazy glue
