To see Pestilence diminished to this is just sad. This is the single most boring DM album I've ever heard. I guess Spheres is just a once in a career type of album. :(
@crimsonaltruist The style is still similar to Spheres. I'm not really sure what you find so boring that's interesting in previous albums. But then you can never please everyone.
I swear, metal heads are the most critical music fans of all time. It's really annoying. Complaints like oh the guitars don't sound brutal, the vocals are bad, bass sucks, nothing new (that one pisses me off so much) and blah blah blah. Give it a rest and just enjoy the music. If you feel that you can do better, go form a band already and shut the fuck up.
@MetalShin0bi Your opinion is definetely clearer than water man!!! All the bastards that critisize, must try form a band, and prove that sound like this historical monster of Death Metal, is not so easy, ROCK ON!!!
Other than the vocals, this is damn good. Martin van Drunen will always be the definitive vocalist for this band in my ears--Patrick Mameli just isn't hacking it for me. "Consuming Impulse". that's what I'm talking about!
To all the idiots who said this sucks, fuck off and die. This is an awesome album, one of the best Pestilence lp's ever. I cant stand hearing bullshit like that. How often does a thrash metal band reform and come back with an album that is one of their heaviest ever? Almost never. I dont know what people are complaining about. Probably just idiots who only like Spheres and all that experimental shit.
Totally agree with you except the Spheres part ... dislike it or not EVERY Pestilence album is unique in so many areas of music, from thrash to oldschool death to fusion to brutally oriented death music and in ALL those styles they achieved to be unique ! Fuck off labels, listen to music. And even if someone do not like just pay respect, cause it is unique in its every bit. There was a time that they were called "Death" of Holland. I do not compare of course, this means something ...
@ErikB71 Wow nice understanding of progressive music. That album is the worst they made imo.. VERY repetitive and slow .. i guess you think its the heviest ever cause it has blast beat.. lol
I think spheres is great;love testimony, hail consuming and this is totally brutal!hey they've never skrewed their fans over, these guys always bring it,never a reload or load or endorama, there has been some beloved metal bands that have skrewed us all in the past but not pestillence and we're around 20 years now.
I dont see why so many people are complaining. This is 100% pure Pestilence. This album is so totally Pestilence in style, it has a lot of influences from from their older albums like Testimony of the Ancients plus a more technical and death metal approach. How can you not like Horror Detox? It sounds just like something from Testimony. They could have made a wimpy album but instead they came back with a kick ass album that is heavier than ever, yet so many complain.
don't give a fuck, everytime i realise this is an upside down world we're in!!
when a band goes mainstream people start bitching and complaining then when another one realeases a kick ass damn powerfull album its sucks too!!
"...This is 100% pure Pestilence. This album is so totally Pestilence in style, it has a lot of influences from from their older albums like Testimony of the Ancients plus a more technical and death metal approach."
Totally agree. People listen to labels and not music. This album is kickass and Pestilence never let me down ... cannot understand the war against them. Narrow minded bullshit from narrow minded people ...
I never forgot Consvming Impvlse. That's a great album too.
And honestly, I wasn't expecting to be disappointed, because I was under the impression that Pestilence did not know how to fuck up. Sadly, I was wrong :(
To each their own I suppose, I enjoy it though. If i could recommend something to you, you may enjoy "Hail Of Bullets" it's newer stuff but it's got Van Drunen on vocals. You may like it.
Wow this is f-ing kick ass! This is some of the best Pestilence material I've ever heard. Its like a heavier, more technical, thrashier version of Testimony of the Ancients. Great stuff. I'm defininately buying this. So many thrash bands are reforming these days, but few of them play as good or as heavy as they used to. This is one exception.
