@TravisTagart you can, but it hurts the cat. you should only do it when you need to restrain them for something. if you need to move them, pick them up, not scruff.
once we had to transport our cat, and he was very scared (he was overall a scary kitty), and well, he unfortunetly shat himself. so we had to hold him by the scruff in order to was his area between his legs and etc. he was very scared after. scruffing is really scary for cats. only do it when needed.
