I wonder if O is his broken key, the one that just kinda dangles off to the side. Well anyway that one must be the rarest one of all, or not I don't know
i think was afraid of the type writer guy and couldn't wait for it to be over. but then i made up my own nununu thing, i would put my blanket between my toes squueze and called it a nununu...hmmm
@JesseL85719 : The company hadn't become Sesame Workshop at the time these cartoons were made, so the older scripts and archives still refer to CTW. (P.S.: "Typewriter Guy" is an *unofficial* name for the character, popular with fans but never actually used on the air.)
Nobody I know of has the clip for "O", but I think I have "I" and "S" in my collection; give me tonight to look first, and they'll go up if I find them.
Do you have any clips of the folk band "The Deadly Nightshade"? Somebody already put up the performance of them doing "Keep on the Sunnyside", but I've been wanting to see the other ones they did for a long time! If my memory serves me correctly, they had a great instrumental on that same episode, and I also remember them doing a version of "Old MacDonald". Thanks!
Unfortunately I hadn't even heard of that band until you made the comment--let alone remembered a Sesame Street episode where they appeared. I'll ask around on some fan forums where I hang out, though!
just search on YouTube for "Deadly Nightshade" and "Sesame Street" to see the video! There's another video posted up where the Deadlies are performing the exact same song-30 years later for a girl's summer camp. They've aged a little!

I loved the Type Writer guy...Sesame street was cool back then

@amcfan100
I like the typewriter guy too. His absense is one of the many reasons that "Sesame Street" has really gone downhill over the years!

i've always wondered if that typewriter guy had a name.
slydawg221 1 year ago
@slydawg221 : No official name; CTW scripts just call it "typewriter".

@hoopersghost thanks

@hoopersghost You mean Sesame Workshop scripts just call it typewriter

Do they have one of these skits for every letter it seems like?
coyote374 1 year ago
@coyote374 : Yes, the Typewriter Guy series covered the whole alphabet, although some letters are a lot harder to find clips for than others.
hoopersghost 1 year ago
....Weird. I forgot all about these clips until just now, but I've always hummed that same "doo na noo na noo" tune when waiting for something.

I think I have the very first episode of Sesame Street, with 'bob' singing the themesong. I should upload it for the funk of it.

I've got the uncut test episode, thanks to a friend I trade with...still, I bet that a lot of fans would love to see your copy too, Go for it!

Can anyone post me the typewriter guy's letters "I", "O", and "S" for me please?

are you gonna upload these?
michaelmoval 2 years ago
This evening...it turns out I have only the "S"clip but it needs cleaning up first.
hoopersghost 2 years ago
I might have 'o' in my SS stuff. Let me look, also. ::all we need now is a couple of blanks and we'd have a scrabble::
IIIIdepechemodeIIII 2 years ago
That'd be awesome, especially since I never saw the "O for Owl" clip myself as a kid. Best of luck finding it!

What does noo noo noo noo noo mean anyway?
chowder707 2 years ago
Probably just a passing-the-time / happiness emotion invented by one of the LSD-creators of S.S.
