Shure srh750DJ or AKG Quincy Jones Q701? I am not that big on bass but I like it but don't mind not having a lot but I am very big on looks and the Q701's look awesome and look very comfortable which I am also very big on because I spend most of the hours of a day with headphones on. I also like how the Shure SRH750DJ's have the articulation in the drivers so I can wear them around the neck. Which is better for someone like me?
ATh-M50 or MDR-7X700 ? Not keen on any studio stuff just really want a nice crisp pair of headphones (that will make my friends envious ;P ) Thanks, Daniel
Couldn't agree more Kyle, they are the bestest phones I've ever had, and hard to see how they could be bettered, esp for low voltage sources, such as sony mp3 and up market dab radio's and dvd movies.
@InnerFidelity Hey, what are your thoughts on the Audio Technica ATH WS55 from the solid bass range would love if you could do a review on those - thanks keep up the good work!
iam thinking of buying these. I had gone through two denon ah-d1100s, which despite being superb in my opinion were not very durable and both broke. Iam wondering if these are decent alternatives to the ah-d1100 and i would considering buying them if they are indeed better. Can you tell me how they compare with ah-d1100 headphones and recommend me the best closed headphones for around 100-200 (gbp) price range for use in ipods. Thanks
Thank you so much for your reviews I really enjoy them. I really like these MDR-ZX700's but I am also looking at the MDR-ZX500's. Also is there any way you could do a review on the SONY MDR-ZX300's? I think the MDR-ZX300's are a great portable option and have some nice specs for the price! Thanks again for all you do, Royal.
So what are the best monitoring headphones for around 160$. Cord length ins't too much of an issue but i would like to take them out of the house every once and a while.
I have a Cowon x7 player which sounds great with lossless and has good features to manipulate sound while still sounding good but will mostly be using the headphones on my computer. any help.
Hi, I just want to know how these headphones sound with portable mp3 players. I have e-series sony mp3 walkman. Do they sound strong on them? How is the bass and treble while using on mp3 players, especially with EQ settings set to nil. Actually, I have sony mdr-ZX100 headphones and they sound very muffled without EQ's. With EQ's there is great jump in audio quality. Do MDR-ZX700 sound great on individual stereo systems with amplifiers or are they equally great on mp3 players (without AMPS)
Thank you for your review. I am interested in buying these primarily for mixing my own music on my computer. From what I gather, the MDR-ZX700 have a better sound quality then the MDR-V6, but a much smaller cable. However, it also seems to me like the MDR-V6 has a better build with metal incasing? I really do not care about the size of the cable, I am only really concerned about which of these headphones has better sound quality for mixing. Which one would you suggest? Thank you.
@vent5 Personally, I'd take the Creative Aurvana Live! for sound quality over the other two. And the V-Moda M-80 or Sennheiser HD 25-1 II would be awesome, if you can afford it.

I'm trying to figure out which headphones I should get between these and the MDR-XB700, I need good monitors for making music, I also wear glasses so its important I find some I can wear for at least two hours at a time, can you tell me what are the advantages and disadvantages with both if you get time? Thank you.
hey guys I bought the sony mdr zx500 and will be reviewing it after about a month of use. I notice that there isn't and kind of reviews on the mdr zx500 at all. BTW I do have a short video about the mdr zx500 but not an actual review so check it out. Just type in sony mdr zx500
hi! In your opinion which headphones are better overall the zx700's or the xb500's? Most of all i'd like to know if the bass in the zx700's is decent enough for you or if they sound more neutral.
@al3xxx92 Im guessing he would recomend the zx700 over the xb500. But if its bass you want, xb 500 have much more, and better base. Im wondering myself on what the bass on the zx700 sounds like too, becaue im thinking about grabbing a pair. Im not going with the xb's because they are not accurate sounding, and I heard they leak a LOT. SO people around you can really hear your music.
I Personally listen to a lot of Rock, Hip Hop, and Metal, and i am looking for a good/great pair of OVER EAR headphones, from 100 to 125 dollars (Canadian) - and i have been looking at teh Sennheiser HD 280 Pros, and these, which would you recommend? Out of these two or any other headphones?
(I listen to a lot of:
Linkin Park, Skillet, SUM41, Simple Plan, Breaking Benjamin, Eminem, Lil Wayne (some of his stuff) etc.)
But i just read about the Audio Technica ATH-M40s.. There are great reviews for those, have you by any chance listening to them or own them? If so, please help? XD
Because i am REALLY hoping for a set that lasts me some time... i messed up 5 pairs of Apple Headphones in 10 months, and since the over ear are more durable, i decided to get my first pair.. :)
@InnerFidelity I just got my headphones today (Took your advice and got the Creative Aurvana Live) - and i was wondering, when i listen to Hip Hop (especially Above the Law by Eminem) it seems that when the beat goes high (or Low, i dont know) then the sound is slightly statiky. And is that SUPPOSED to happen? Or will it change after the burn in? And how long is the burn in for the Creative Aurvana Live?
Thank you for taking the time of reviewing theses, I was long awaiting for some unbiased reviews for these new MDR-ZX700. I'm just quite not convinced by them yet.
I was wondering which are your views and have the edge on between the Sony MDR-V6 and Sennheiser HD 25-1 II... I have been having this tough call for months now.
@PlayHiFi I think the Sony MDR-V600 is better than the V6, and the HD25-II are significantly better than both. The ZX700 is better than the V6 or V600, but not as good as the HD25-II.

The biggest problem with the MDR-7506/MDR-V6 is that it was too tizzy-sounding and bright up top to my liking. The MDR-7509 (MDR-V900 non-HD), on the other hand, sounds pretty good on some equipment but not on other equipment due to its very low 24-Ohm impedance (for example, it sounded fine on my new iPhone 3GS but a bit confused on my iPod Nano 4G).
@OMFGWTFLOLZ100 the diferences are sound isolation and sound quality. both are good but for me the 700 is much better and the price are very attractive for this kind of headphone
@OMFGWTFLOLZ100 take the 700 ! i have it and they are polyvalent and powerfull ! and if the XB700 is better as the 500 as the ZX700 is better as the ZX500 I think you could take the 700
