Q1:I've noticed that on some videos of the TD-4 KX2, the ride and crash cymbals are different to the lower TD-4 K2, ( such as you can actually get a bell sound on the ride by hitting the bell on the cymbal), why is this?
Q2: Does the TD-4 K2 have the exact same drum kits and sounds as the TD-4 KX2, is the module exactly the same?
Q3: Can you swap around sounds on the kits, (can I place different sounds on other kits, or can I make my own kit with sounds I choose)?
Thanks for your interest. Due to our dealer agreements with Roland, we're not allowed to ship outside of the US...sorry! You can plug this kit into an audio interface to record your performance. Just take the 1/4 inch outputs of the kit and plug them into the inputs of your interface. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Well done, very informative. I'm drooling over this kit right now. I checked out the TD-20 a long time ago and I was blown away, but didn't have 8 grand to part with. Today I went into a music store and saw just how powerful the TD-4 is. The moment I can get my snappers on it, you know I will! Also, the coach feature looks great, seeing as it will be my first kit.
Yes, you can use the 1/8 inch line input to plug in your favorite MP3 player. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. Thanks for watching!
Hi, I'm going to get this drum kit in a couple weeks, I was just wondering, since I record my acoustic kit, is there a way to record the audio from this drum kit? Or is it midi recording.
Sure, you can just run the audio outputs of the TD4SX into the inputs of an audio interface or recording device. Hit record, play the drums, and you'll be recording audio. Thanks for watching!
I've been playing the keys for a while and I'm now really interested in playing the drums. This looks like the perfect thing for me since it's got realistic sounds and it's quiet enough for me to take to college next year.
Yes, you can use a MIDI to USB interface to connect to your computer. However, the TD4 module only has a MIDI out port, so you can use it as a controller...but you won't be able to play sequences back through the module. Not a big deal if you want to use software instruments. Thanks!
Thanks for your interest. For this video we are not using an external amp. We are actually just running the audio out of the TD4 module into our camera. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Hello, i was just inquiring whether you do shipping to Ireland or not and if so do you accept laser card for online purchase? i really want to get this kit and i found the cheapest price here so far.
Thanks for your interest. Due to our dealer agreements with Roland, we are not allowed to ship outside of the U.S. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
lmao at 1:18-1:19. he comes back with this facial expression like....that was some bad -a** sh** i just played wasn't it! wicked serious like! i love johhny rabb! he is awesome!
I've got a question and I apologize if it's been answered elsewhere but can the drum and cymbal pads be adjusted for sensitivity? I ask this because some people have posted videos on YouTube and their cymbal pads sound like crap--all I'm hearing is a stick hitting plastic--none of the actual cymbal sounds from the module are coming through. I'm really wanting to buy this kit in a few months but I'm worried about being able to adjust the sensitivity. Thanks for any help on this!
Most people posting drum demos on youtube don't record audio directly from the V-Drum module. They will often just use the camera's microphone, which picks up a large amount of pad noise. Our video uses only the direct sound from the module, so what you hear is what the kit sounds like when you listen through headphones or plug into a sound system. Feel free to contact me with any other questions.
Thanks for the information. Also i have a logitech monitering system for my computer. Is it possible to hook that up to the drum kit? And does using headphones reduce the quality of the sound?
Thanks for the great demo video. I was just wondering, I want to get this kit for practice and wondered if you can change the tempo of the metronome for something like punk and rock beats. Thanks. Your reply would be much appreciated.
i'm getting a td4sx with my income tax this year, and was just wondering how many extra hook ups there are for more pads? i defenitetly want to add an extra cymbal, if not two cymbals, but if not you can program one cymbal to make two diffrent sounds by hitting them in diffrent spots right? i'm not sure, i had an old school td-8, 10 yrs ago and u could hit the center of the pad for a regular crash, and the outside for a china.
Hey I actually already ordered my TD4SX off of kraftmusic(.)com :) but I just have a quick question about the "quick record" feature. How long does it go for? You recorded a good 3-4 second lick, but how long would it go on for before it would automatically stop recording? If you could answer that'd be very helpful!
Thanks for your order, we appreciate your business. I'm not sure how long the quick recorder would run for, but I'd assume you could at least record a 4-5 minute song. It may be limited not in terms of time, but number of notes (hits) played. Roland tech support (at 323-890-3740) may have a definite answer for you. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the Roland TD4SX. The audio you hear in this video is taken directly from the TD4 module into our HD camera. We are using some small studio monitors for playback. The TD4SX can be used in conjunction with any drum monitor system or amp (I'd recommend the Roland PM30). Please free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for your interest. Well, the TD4SX is a much newer module, so I think the sound quality is going to be improved over the older TD8 module. I'm not sure how the total number of sounds or kits would compare between the two. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns .
Thanks for watching. Well, the TD9SX has more sounds to choose from...but the TD4SX is a very capable electronic drum kit as well. Plus, with new pricing and a mail-in rebate, the TD4SX is a great value. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Why should I pick this kit over the Alesis DM10 studio kit. They are the same price but the Alesis seems to be a bit nicer. I'm new to electronic drums so I don't know much. But it just seems like your getting less with the Roland. Because of the PD8 pads Against real drum heads on the alesis. Help?
Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the TD4SX. I think the biggest advantage to the Roland TD4 would be sound quality. Roland is well respected in the electronic drum field because of the outstanding sound quality of their V-Drums. I would stack up the sound of the TD4 module against the Alesis DM10 any day. You should find somewhere to demo these kits and hear for yourself. Feel free to contact me with any other questions.
Im big on the beatles and Billy Joel, would this be a good kit for me? I know all the technical stuff, since im a keyboard player mainly, but would this bea good kit to play around with, or to have for jamming?
Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the Roland TD4SX kit. This would be a great kit to play around with. It features excellent sound quality and it's very easy to use. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for your interest. The TD4 module features an 1/8 inch stereo audio input for connecting your MP3 player. You can play along with any audio source by using this extra "MIX IN" jack. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for your interest. If you purchase the COMPLETE DRUM BUNDLE, you'll receive a Yamaha FP7210 single bass drum pedal. The DRUM ESSENTIALS BUNDLE includes a Universal Percussion UP1220DP. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for your interest. The TD4S and TD4SX use the same cymbal configuration. The difference between the two kits are the mesh-head toms in the TD4SX kit. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
hey, so is this the same kit as the roland td4s? except this one has mesh heads? so doesn't that mean i could just buy the roland td4s, save $400 cuz its that much cheaper, and then just buy 3 mesh heads for the toms and put them on myself??
Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the TD4SX kit. The TD4S kit is identical to the TD4SX kit, except the TD4S kit features rubber PD8 pads for the toms. It's not possible to attach mesh heads to the DP8 pads, you would have to purchase the mesh-head pads separately. The six inch mesh pads sell for $159 each and the 8 inch mesh pad sells for $199. So, the TD4SX is a savings of about $115. Feel free to contact me with any other questions.
Yeah, you could certainly set up the kit in that way. You'd have to reprogram your kits, but you can assign any pad to act as any sound you want. Thanks!
How customizable is the kit physically? I am pretty picky about where my cymbals are in relation to my toms etc, and it looks like, in this video he's playing it pretty much where everything is in the pictures. Thanks!
The physical sound of the pads and cymbals is pretty quiet. Not very noticeable when you're playing through an amplifier, sound system, or headphones. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
I want to buy a drumset but Im not sure which one is better TD4S or TD4SX,... which one do you recommend? does it worth paying $400 more for the TD4SX?
Hard to say...The mesh pads are pretty awesome. Plus, Roland has a $100 mail-in rebate going until the end of July. That brings the price difference to only $300. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the Roland TD4SX kit. The TD4SX kit does not ship from Roland with a bass drum pedal. However, our exclusive BUNDLES include all the accessories you need like drum throne, sticks, headphones, and bass drum pedal. Check out our available BUNDLES at Kraft Music dot com. Thanks!
I notice how most drummers make the instinctive move to mute the cymbals after they're done playing, but then realize they're on an electric kit. Heh.
Yes, but did you notice that the cymbals on this kit (and many electronic kits) can actually be muted? The TD4 allows for muting of the cymbals, so you can play with natural technique. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
I am madly in love with this kit and am on the verge of buying it. I have a quick question about the module. I assume like most midi you can import your own different drum sounds? I've also noticed in higher quality models they have the melody option. for example, you hit the crash ones and it may play a C synth, while hitting it again plays an E synth. does this module allow that effect as well?
You can control the sounds from other drum machines or keyboards from the TD4 module, but you can't import those sounds into the module. You can take the MIDI output of the module and send into the MIDI input of another piece of gear. Not sure on the melody option. Thanks for watching!
Yes, using the "Quick Record" function allows you to record a song from start to finish. You can download the owner's manual from our site to read more about it: kraftmusic and search for Roland TD4
Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
This unit features Roland's factory warranty on electronic drums. One year parts and 90 days parts/labor. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for watching. You can assign the ride to respond in that way. The edge of the ride is a separate zone that can be assigned to any sound. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
I would say the rebound is excellent. The Roland mesh V-Drum head gives a very realistic feel, and allows for very expressive playing. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Unfortunately, due to our dealer agreements with Roland we are unable to ship this kit outside of the U.S. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for your interest. The assembly on this kit is pretty easy. It's also a flexible kit that allows you to set up in a few different configurations. You could set up the kit in reverse, or move the position of the toms/cymbals. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for watching. The audio you hear on this recording went directly out from the TD4 module into the digital camera. No additional editing or processing was done to the audio. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Yes, we are happy to ship anywhere in the U.S. If you are in the continental U.S. you will receive free ground shipping as well. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
You may want to check our our COMPLETE DRUM BUNDLE for a great deal on this kit along with an amplifier. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching. It's very easy to configure this kit and assign sounds to the pads. You can set up the kit any way you like and can assign any sound in the module to any pad or cymbal. You can then save the configuration as a preset. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the Roland TD4SX drum kit. The snare on this kit is definitely a two zone snare. You can assign a separate sound on the skin of the drum and the rim of the drum. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

Also, is there a way a china symbol can be achieved? Id drop 1 tom, pick up a 12" ride, and use one as a china if possible.
Enormosaurus 1 year ago
Yeah, you could certainly set up the kit in that way. You'd have to reprogram your kits, but you can assign any pad to act as any sound you want. Thanks!

How customizable is the kit physically? I am pretty picky about where my cymbals are in relation to my toms etc, and it looks like, in this video he's playing it pretty much where everything is in the pictures. Thanks!

my mom just ordered this for me today!! im so excited to get it!!!

When you hit the cymbals and the pads, is the actual sound the mesh and rubber make loud or is it not noticable with the sounds coming from the amp?
35strange 1 year ago
The physical sound of the pads and cymbals is pretty quiet. Not very noticeable when you're playing through an amplifier, sound system, or headphones. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

WOOOOOOOW!,... awesome!!!
I want to buy a drumset but Im not sure which one is better TD4S or TD4SX,... which one do you recommend? does it worth paying $400 more for the TD4SX?
esofagogastro 1 year ago
Hard to say...The mesh pads are pretty awesome. Plus, Roland has a $100 mail-in rebate going until the end of July. That brings the price difference to only $300. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

Hi,
Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the Roland TD4SX kit.

Heh.
BackwardsT 1 year ago
Yes, but did you notice that the cymbals on this kit (and many electronic kits) can actually be muted? The TD4 allows for muting of the cymbals, so you can play with natural technique. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

I am madly in love with this kit and am on the verge of buying it. I have a quick question about the module. I assume like most midi you can import your own different drum sounds? I've also noticed in higher quality models they have the melody option. for example, you hit the crash ones and it may play a C synth, while hitting it again plays an E synth. does this module allow that effect as well?
SpeedLimits65 1 year ago
You can control the sounds from other drum machines or keyboards from the TD4 module, but you can't import those sounds into the module. You can take the MIDI output of the module and send into the MIDI input of another piece of gear. Not sure on the melody option. Thanks for watching!

Yes, using the "Quick Record" function allows you to record a song from start to finish. You can download the owner's manual from our site to read more about it: kraftmusic and search for Roland TD4

Hi,
Thanks for watching. You can assign the ride to respond in that way. The edge of the ride is a separate zone that can be assigned to any sound. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

Hey,
How authentic is the rebound of those pads?
TijmenZonderH 1 year ago
I would say the rebound is excellent. The Roland mesh V-Drum head gives a very realistic feel, and allows for very expressive playing. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

Hello - I'd just like to ask that how hard is the assembly for this kit? Is the assembly set only in the way that rabb is playing in the video?
Pengsold033 1 year ago
Thanks for your interest. The assembly on this kit is pretty easy. It's also a flexible kit that allows you to set up in a few different configurations. You could set up the kit in reverse, or move the position of the toms/cymbals. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

Hi,
Thanks for watching. It's very easy to configure this kit and assign sounds to the pads. You can set up the kit any way you like and can assign any sound in the module to any pad or cymbal. You can then save the configuration as a preset. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

Is the snare dual zone? I just cant seem to get a clear answer on this. Any help would be great :)
seasmusic 2 years ago
Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the Roland TD4SX drum kit. The snare on this kit is definitely a two zone snare. You can assign a separate sound on the skin of the drum and the rim of the drum. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

Can a regular acoustic pedal be used with this since it doesn't come with one?
McTwitchable 2 years ago
yes of course, the bass drum works with something hitting it so u can just hook up any bass pedal. :)
