  • Nice Production, Excellent Design & Construction "Kudos & 5 Stars!"

  • how much hp? and i shoild make one

  • Nice job. I'll have to try something like this for my tractor this summer.

  • Btw, I forgot to add... you should be in radio, you sure DO have the voice for it !

  • Really great job ! - I was Googling for homemade plows and came across your vidio. Love how long the video was, that it is in HD, and it was full of great info. It always amazes me what a creative mind can accomplish with handy around the house materials. I often wondered if I could build a plow like this for my lawn tractor, and now I have some guidance and hope ! Thanks for posting this ! - Frosty up in snowy cold Canada.

  • what a piece of shit.

  • Normally I don't comment on videos like this, but I really like the way you put this together, held strong to your ideas, and just made a fun video to watch.

  • Awesome job!

  • U shouldn't spin the blade or really have it on it wrecks it

  • A snow plow needs a trip spring so it can lean forward when it strikes an immovable object or your plow may break.

  • great just what I've been looking your the best... simply awesome

  • great amazing!

  • nice snowblade :D

  • you shore your not a red neck haha.fun to watch video.have you gotten any heavy wet snow because if you do your not going anywhere with out the chains.i finaly gave in and bought a big old snow blower about 8 years ago.as long as it is not slush it will throw it . thanks for posting.oh looks like you fly Rc planes now theres a great hobby i fly or should i say i crash Rc helis there a blast

  • is he wearin ugs

  • If you want a really high quality lawn tractor check out simplicity the best there is

  • Works good for fluffy new snow..but I don't think it could move heavy snow~ banked up in driveway from city snow plow.

  • Do it Yourself Master!! a bit ridiculous tho

  • I am impressed..........I am going to make my boys make me one......

  • my neighbors have a YTS4500 with a 54'' deck and 26 HP V-Twin Kohler Courage theirs is a 2009 with its original diehard battery

  • Just loved it!!!!! Wish you lived closer to help me with mine... They want $400 for a 42" blade... After seeing your great work... I might copy you a bit...... Thanks and great Job....

  • @RandyViolette USE CRAIGSLIST OR EBAY!! god damn

  • Ack! Take off that mower deck!

  • awsome snow plow the paint on it makes it look great, all most like it was factory build

  • omg. what the hell. Steel and do a better job. Using your mower deck in the snow? ROFLMAO No wonder why you needed a new one.. lol

  • I caught those rear tires starting to spin... chains would be nice...or calcium in your rear tires...your on pretty level ground... U ever Cut a Hoagie in half with a set of Sheet metal shears??? I thought not... "walks away with a warm feeling inside"

  • sears actually has a metal snow blade for the YT and GT series and its actually very similar in design except its made of metal and has an adjustment shaft that can both lift and lower and turn the blade. But you did save like 300 by doing this i guess

  • WHY? Use steel and a welder my friend..

  • i hate snow wish it was summer all year make sure you change the oil and filter every 50 hours and check the level every time you mow these briggs & stratton engines the single cylinders like that like to blow connecting rods.

  • Comment removed

  • real interesting. I had no idea it was the law to keep the snow clear from the sidewalks! awesome idea. thanks for sharing

  • very very VERY nice! well done if i must say.. although i dont think it is a very smart idea to use your blades, but i am impressed! hope to see more vids.

  • Snow? Here in FL it's been up to 80 degrees all week long.

I am envious of your snow.

  • HAHA!! nice work man!! :) the funny thing is you have a nice snow blower RIGHT beside it!! lol

  • nice work mr herbert!

  • It would be awsome if you found out a way to pu the snow blower front on haha

  • like it.....watch,country my ass!....

  • I like your plow ,but would like to say that I have had a piece of wood 2' X4' on the front of my tractor for the last 4 season of snow and let me tell you it works better that any plow I've used before that.I'll sent pic's if you would like to see how I mounted mine.I'll give you a 7 for effort on yours..you'll see that mine does a lot more for snow removal.

  • You should put a copyright on that invention Dave! Great work!!

  • Who are the 6 jack asses who don't like this!?!?!? Amazing stuff!

  • I also have a YS4500 to which I have contimplated a plow blade as the snowblower attachment I have seems to run thru belts or throws the belts way too often. I love your idea.

  • Absolutely amazing Dave! Your ingenuity and creativity simply have no boundaries. Looks like you could now easily clear a place for me to park my tractor-trailer behind your house should we ever be able to head up to Sibley during this treacherous time of year, lol! We are currently in Indianapolis and they are calling for more snow tonight and tomorrow! We head out to China Lake, CA this Monday, woohoo! We were in Calexico last week and it was 75 degrees! I miss it already!

  • Thanx, Dave... that wuz perfect!

  • Hey dave have you ever wondered ,WHY headlights on a lawn mower,if you cut your grass after dark then its a noise abatement law.Who cuts grass in the dark.lol

  • Hi Dave... Man I could watch you all day long, its very relaxing, and very amusing at the same time. I'd rather watch your videos over any "Sponsored by" plane videos :-)

I'd take a trip up there just to have a ride on "red", but sadly I'm in the UK.....

I wish my neighbours were all Dave Herberts! What a relaxing and fun neighbourhood that would be...

  • It looks like Maine. I love season changes.

  • dave is the batman of his nieghborhood, where does he get all those wonderful toys?

  • ur brain is much like my grandfathers always inventing things to ease things out and congrats on your bday

  • Great job mate!

Id be cautious about putting on any tyre chains, the spinning tyres would act as a buffer against over working the drive transmission belts adding chains would give you too much traction these "toy tractors" are definately not made for this kind of work.

  • 4:28 like my pontiac

  • good ol' livin life.

  • that is soo cool keep up the plowing and the great ideas

  • I bet it was very cold out that day. You looked like you had the time of your life out there. Excellent job on the video and your invention.

  • cool i love the snow i guess you stay up the north of america

  • Dave. I love where your heart is. Stay young.

  • you say snowblade,i say jealous neighbors.

  • Not that you'd need it Dave, but I think you've just stumbled onto something you could make millions on...

  • I know people that would pay to be your nieghbor!!!!!!!! Great vid Dave.

  • Hahaha! My favorite USMC saying..."Adapt, Improvise, Overcome!" Urrahh! Semper Fi.

  • Hey! Matt (Mattsplat). It was fun flying with you on Aerofly today. Thought I would hop on here and check out your snow blade video. Nicely done. I get a kick out of all your gadgets and inventions. Hope to see you on Aerofly again soon.

  • nice one dave !!! for a cali guy your doing good at playing in the snow

  • dave ya need too get a set of snow chain's and what a difference you'll see

    the plow blade look's cool

  • Hey, Nightflyer, Is all of the snow in the mower hard on it?

  • cool I love my riding mower, but my mom wouldn't let me build a plow for it though....

  • i love you americans, you all refuse to put any effort into any of your choirs! lol nice one man

  • @campbellharley yea.. there's an old saying here.. Work smarter, not harder. Maybe you haven't heard that one before..

  • @hairlesshippy i know, thats why i love you americans!

  • Hey Big Brother..... aren't you clever!!!!! Very creative! Enjoyed seeing the snow but enjoying our 80 degree weather here today in beautiful Palm Desert, Ca. Sis

  • @bearinstincts Hahaha! That's it, rub it in! My mom lives in Palm Desert, I know exactly what it's like out there this time of year! Truly a beautiful place.

  • @SoCalsandman780 I agree....There is no better place to be than here in the Winter.... a little piece of heaven with flowers in full bloom and the weather in the 70-80's and no mosquitoes any time of the year..... but if I want snow I go 45 miles to Idyllwild to my cabin and it's just like Iowa..... best of both worlds!

  • @bearinstincts Yes, I've been to Idlyllwild a few times, it's beautiful up there. We are currently in Indianapolis (where it's FREEZING!!) but are heading to China Lake, CA this Monday. Can't wait! I like the little breaks of warm weather (it is SO hard to leave!) at home before heading back out to the "Tundra" in the midwest, haha! poor Dave, he has to stay in the freezing cold all the time, heheh!

  • Im just blown away! (like the snow, lol) You are so inovative and smart! You are awesome! Also, thanks for the magizine from the contest you had!

  • You should market this as an alternitive to a more expensive metal one ,and sell wood packs and assembly instructions {"_*}

  • I have allways admired peolple who make their own stuff! :)

P.S. You look like a "Red Army" Soldier at 7.34 Hahhahahah! :D

  • another great project, love it and saves you a lot of work for sure, well done Dave !

  • will u b my dad lol beautifull mate.

  • Hey. maybe we will see an rc snow plough for next season!! Rob

  • Hey at least you guys still have snow while it's melting away where I live

  • Great video Dave! (2 people Disliked your video, because they don't have snow LOL)

  • when shall I expect you Dave? My driveway here needs cleared again!

  • Dave, Thanks for the idea of building a wooden snow blade for the lawn tractor. I was about ready to put down a few hundred for a metal one to fit my Bolens tractor. I should have thought of wood, it is strong, cheap and easy to work with.

    Dave

  • Did you ever have a real dogfight sir ? and by the way id love to have you as a neighbour!

  • Nice work Dave. The paint job makes it look really nice. We have about two feet of snow here in Royalston. Great for cross country skiing and snowshoes.

  • as a note dave when you plow you should lift you blade when you throw it into reverse

  • Did you ever have a real dogfight sir ?

  • Cool!!! I have to convince my dad to try plowing with the mowing deck on. =D

  • haha black magic woman :)

  • nice job ! Must be nice to be retired. Enjoy !!!!!

  • @billfromelma Haha. I work harder now, but after 33 years in the Marines, I think I earned it. Thanks.

  • How come you don't you the nice snowblower you have in your garage ?

  • @phill903 OH, believe me, I do, but for some stuff, it is fun to run the tractor. It has a battery for the heated vest. LOL.

  • Why don't you RC the lawn mower? I'd seriously like to see that :)

  • @forrest225 Id probably destroy my lawn. Haha.

  • Nice job Dave, simple and gets the job done.

  • @WildBobsRC Thanks Bob,

  • All of your videos no matter what the subject are always a joy to watch. I will always look forward to them.

  • @jauchiu Thank you. That is very kind of you to say.

  • Now you just have to put in auger on it! Nice vid, well done

  • I used to live in So. Cal too - 39 years. Then I too moved to a snowy place. It sucks!

  • @CrackerMcGillicuddy I guess I welcome the change and there are no earthquakes here. LOL

  • I just used some heavy half inch rope and made myself a set of rope tire chains for my lawn tractor, cheap, easy and dosent tear stuff up as much as chains. Also my homemade plow is at about the same angle as yours and sometimes if it gets caught the front tires lift up. I need a bar like that in the front or your plow for mine to keep it down. Thanks for the ideas.

  • @brodie1709 Thanks for your ideas too. I like the rope idea. I will have to look into that. Thanks again.

  • great video

  • where do you get these awesome midi tunes for your background music?

  • @thebibleisfiction I think he makes them himself.

  • @thebibleisfiction A lot of them I make myself on my You Rock guitar and my Suzuki Qchord.

  • very cool idea, Dave. I'm always impressed by your ideas, especially the lawnmower mods and the 1-bladed helicopter!

  • @derniko1992 Thanks very much. That is very kind of you to say. I appreciate that.

  • I wish I had that setup but I don't know if it would push all the snow I have here. It's above my knees now and it's still coming down! I wish I could move to California!

  • @uglybob6666 Careful what you wish for, my friend. The grass is not always greener on the other side. Thanks for the comments.

  • @NightFlyyer Thanks for the reply. I know the grass isn't always greener but right now I'm 5 months from seeing grass! and moving to California isn't an option since I don't even have a passport and can't even get into the U.S. at the moment. Best I can hope for is British Columbia.

  • Nicely done Dave, it looks incredible!

  • simply just...... WOW!!

  • SO where are you from?: o

  • @RockTouching Lived in San Juan Cap Cal for 50 years and now live here in the Midwest.

  • I like that you are using those nice T-3 screws and not drywall screws like just about everyone else.

    looks good Dave.

  • @shaneeeeak Haha. Good eye sir. I appreciate that.

  • I remember living on a corner lot.....and shoveling snow the old fashioned way..before lawn tractors or walk-behind snow blowers....!!

  • @SkyShinn Yes, I appreciate the machines today and love to play with them as you can see. Thanks kindly.

  • btw this is an upgrade lawnmower in the winter :D why by snow plower when you can just add this in front of your lawn mower and save money :D

  • @StewieRc Cause I bought the snowblower first, not knowing they made one to go on front of the tractor. I really need both anyway, as some places the tractor wont fit and others the snowblower is too much work. Id rather ride. So now I will use what I have and not spend any money unless I have to.

  • you should make a ^ shape instead of _, ^ help penetrate and push snow away from the nose

  • @StewieRc Actually the angle I have does a very good job, as you should be able to see. I cleaned the entire driveway and sidewalks, just fine. Too late now anyway, as I had to start somewhere . Hind sight is always 20 20.

  • you need to get a snowmobile, with all the snow that you get.

  • @rufus324 x2

  • @rufus324 Haha. True. No room though!

  • Yet again top video ;-) thumbs up

  • @startazz Thanks very kindly.

  • remember that company that made the automated vacume ?????..........check if they got a automated snowblower/grasscutter.......lol great vid....and mod!!!!!

  • @flyingchimp99 Haha. Good idea.

  • @Hewey19 They make them for men and women. I didn't know it either until my girlfriend brought me to an Ugg store to buy her one...

  • hahaha! great video! man your mods are always really cool and they are really clever too! After seeing this video, i see that we're kinda lucky here in the northwest that we dont get this much snow! nice work as usual!

  • @ramis182 Thanks very much for the comments. I appreciate them.

  • It looks like a monster coming out of the garage! It remindes me of the beach monster in one of the old James Bond novels. Glowing eyes! Nice plow.

  • @bernieborn Haha. That is funny. Good point. Thanks. I am laughing now.

  • nicely done dave!

  • Not a big winter fan, hate the cold and snow makes me miserable.. If we got an inch of snow down here in Mississippi everything shuts down, people start to go nuts. But great job

  • Now all you need is a couple really big servos, I'm sure you have an extra radio in the garage somewhere. :)

  • That needs to be patented. That is really cool!

  • I think that chains would do wonders, especially if the snow is deeper. I can see a lot of wheel spin. But, nice job!

  • @WSRebel2 I tried to spin the wheels, slamming it around testing, etc. But I still got it all done, never got stuck, and didn't have the chains tearing up the concrete either. In some places chains would be nice. I like the Rope chain idea above, which I may consider.

  • lol @ 6:00 you werent having fun at all.... : )

  • I love watching your videos, they always have something really cool and you are so ingenuitive. Thanks

  • @miksta115 Thanks for the kind comments.

  • Looks like you saved yourself a ton of money and your back. Nice work.

  • @frankcoffee I did and it was a fun project to boot.

  • you should make homemade snow chains :D

  • @douhnutz Im going to try to make them from rope as it is easier on the old concrete than chains. Thanks.

  • its bueatiful there you also have an amazing garden tell me how cold does it get there

  • @19SamMan98 Thanks. It is beautiful for sure, all seasons. Winter is a bit more challenging though, but at this time in my life, I am enjoying just being alive and taking it all it. It gets down to 20 below sometimes. Right now, it is19 degrees, winds at 7 mph, and wind chill around 3 degrees. We are also getting freezing snow, but inside I shall stay tonight.

  • @NightFlyyer You are very lucky to have some 20 degrees:D Yesterday we had -30 degrees here in finland

and in last winter the worst was -39.
