  • Fixed it a while ago, was the video chipset, anyways it still sucks

  • fixed it a while ago, was the chipset that overheated...

  • This laptop is a useless sack of shit. The stupid power port doesn't work and you have to hold the fucking power cord and jiggle it to make this over priced pice of shit usefull. Know what HP wants for the part? $47.50 + shipping and over 3 hours to replace the fucker. Shitbag fucknose bullshit o rama ding dong this thing sucks!

  • mine sucks, battery lasts like 5 min on batt saver and the mic and webcam arent working, also a usb port that i never use it SUCKS!

  • now it isnt working the DVD or microphone jack even tho the DVD whie starting checks itself and the unused USB port can be used for recharging a motorola bluetooth headset...

Contacted HP and they say its hardware issue so, if i upgrade to 7 will it still be the same?

  • @dvangar its a hardware issue than you will have to send it to a specialist since upgrading it won't really work. Plus you have to use a dvd drive so you can upgrade so how would that work?

  • how much was this? i'm looking for a laptop and i was wondering the price of this

  • When I bought it, some time ago, it was around $800. I'm sure you could find something similar to this for much cheaper now.

  • thanks! i was thinking the same thing, cuz i noticed it was made in 08'

  • This turkey was slapped together in Thailand, on the floor of a mud hut by underpaid gooks. HP decided to move their operation out of China, they saved on labor, it was assembled by children who were underpaid and overworked.

My HP6910 is a fine paperweight, 3 pounds of plastic and brass hardware that Hewlett-packard won't answer for, it's been paid for and I'm on my own now while it overheats and their tech support treats me like I was a fuckin' werewolf. Corporations suck, HP included!

  • This was a VERY good review, but I have just one question: Does the laptop come with the 64-bit Windows Vista? Because I want to upgrade to 4 GB of RAM. thx

  • Sorry, it comes with 32-bit Vista Home Premium.

  • this laptop seems to have gotten lots of bad reviews from amazon customers. how has yours been working after all this time ?

  • I actually didn't have any problems with it. It ran great for me.

However, I no longer have that laptop. About 3 weeks ago I upgraded to the HDX18, and it's a beast. Plan on doing a review of it soon.

  • what is better windows vista home premium or windows vista 64-bit edition or windows vista home basic?

  • Depends on what you plan on doing.

For everyday things like browsing the web, Home Premium 32-bit will be fine. But if you want to run more demanding applications that might require more RAM, or utilize the CPU more (ie Photoshop) then a 64-bit version of Vista would be better.

Home Basic should only be used if you're computer is really low in the spec department. For most of today's computers Home Premium and up work better.

  • PLEASE HELP !!! Do you have heating problems ???

I have the same laptop and it started to shut down recently when it's heated ... i think this is the problem but I don't know what to do.

    Any ideas ???

    PLEASE HELP!!!

  • You need to take your laptop back to where you bought it and see if you can stretch the salesman's sphincter wide enough to lodge that failing laptop up into the ass of the clown who sold it to you!

It was designed by Mid-eastern and Asian "engineers", people who are still using single ply toilet paper and dealing with outdoor plumbing. Yes, we ALL have heating problems but the smart ones have learned to cook steak on the processor chip. When the world gets lemons, look for the HP logo.

  • hey whats is the price for this laptop?

  • hey

    whats the camera mp?

  • It's a 1.3 mp camera.

  • Is it true that AMD based laptops heats up fast? I was curious because I am going to buy a new laptop. And how long does the battery last? Is it as good as the intel?

  • I un-plugged mine about 50 minutes ago, and it's about to die...

  • mines last for atleast an hour and then dies on me even with battery saver

  • Just back on "iso" DVD's

  • I enjoyed the video very much =D. Anyways do you prefer using the HP D: Drive? Or just back everything up on blank cd/dvds?

  • Hi broher, I need a copy of the disks hp recovery, please help me because I delete the partition. Maybe you can upload it on megaupload.

    Bye men...

  • Is there anyway to make videos from the webcam and edit them it windows movie maker? If so how?

  • Yes you can. It's really easy. Just open the YouCam software that I show, and record your video. It is automatically saved to a folder in Documents. Then simply open Windows Movie Maker, and edit your video.

  • Thanks, you have helped me make up my mine on this laptop.

  • Thanks for this. It really helps to see a live person interacting with the product.

  • If you want to run Team Fortress, GO FOR IT! Runs pretty well. I did have to down some of the settings, but the screen on this badboy makes it still lookS fabulous! Another little secret, GO INTO THE BIOS SETTINGS AND CHANGE YOU VIDEO MEMORY TO 128MBS DEDICATED! Portal runs a little slow looking into the portal but doesnt bother me too much cuz the rest looks great. Still better than my old desktop could do.

  • Is this laptop capable of running games well.

I'm not intent on running alot of games just

    1 or 2.

  • It can run some games.

It doesn't have the best graphics card, so when you run games, you have to do it on low settings.

  • Ok thanks.

Just makin sure cuz i was thinking of buying team fortress 2.

  • bluetooth? i have the hp pavillion dv6911us just as yours and it doesnt have bluetooth? would u plss tell me where is located in the laptop?

  • Sorry, the 6911 is not equipped with bluetooth.

  • yea xd after i saw ur video i searched and the sad part is that yea mines does not comes with it well thx anyways

  • How is this a review? Your just telling us what this has. A review usually tells you how the computer performs and what you think about it. Just thought you should know. I bought this last week and it is an awesome laptop. The video card isn't top of the line, but it works pretty well. I don't suggest the newest games on it like Dirt, Assassins Creed. Most of the games on Gametap look fantastic and play very fast. So games about a year old are fine. Download demos before buying games for it.

  • DO you just need a router,Modem and a PC to get going on the internet (i have a ISP) PLEASE REPLY

  • Yes, you will need all of those to get online wirelessly with this.

  • thanks

  • this may sound like a stupid question but can you use the laptop without the power cord that's plugged in or is that the charger??? im getting this laptop in 2 days and i don't want to be lost when i buy it ---Please Reply---

  • Yes, it can run without the power cord.

I just had it charging during the video.

On the default power mode, you can get about 4-6 hours. I have it on high performance (brightest screen setting, best cpu/gpu performance, bluetooth and wifi on) and I get about 2 hours.

  • hey dude.. check out my review for this.. how do u like the laptop.. i love it

  • I love this laptop.

Runs great, and does almost everything I want to do with it. No regrets buying it.

  • same here

  • Can this laptop run call of duty 4? please respond!!!!!!!!!!

  • It doesn't have the best graphics card.

It probably could run CoD 4 on low, but I don't know for sure.

  • Good review man. Just bought the dv6910EA. It comes with with the HD screen and HDMI, which might explain why you're didn't. They might of used the picture for that with it.

But yes, good laptop, can't wait for mine to come now!

    Hope you're enjoying your laptop!

  • Correction, I bought the dv6920ea. Sorry my mistake :)

  • does that sqaure piece between the usb and modem, does it pop out the expose a HDMI?

  • Unfortunately, no. I too thought there was an HDMI port, because all the picture that I saw of this laptop had the HDMI. And then when I bought it, I discovered there was none. :(

  • yea i know ever pic shows an HDMI but yet it doesnt actually have one. false advertising! lol

  • veyron!

  • hey um where did you order your hp pavilion from and how much was it.

  • I got it from Circuit City.

It cost $820 with tax, but not including the $50 mail-in rebate.

  • Hey, I just bought mine from Office Deopt, Aug. 23 08 for total of 729 with tax. There is a total of 175 mail in rebates, that means it will only be about 500!

  • now at Circuit City it's 599.00 dollars and 50 dollar rebate.
