@bzzalo Well only for this one and one only reason, Nitro Engines are hard to Synchronise, Electrics are always running no matter what, on this particular C-130 we had 170 flights, and other Nitro C-130's dont really get even past 20 to 30 flights as one engine can shut down, only if the PILOT is an experience one in MULTIENGINE FLYING then he wont have trouble with Nitros but 20-30 flights compare to over hundreds of flights, then electric wins over Nitros

Hi,

I'm currently building one of these and am curious as to what size prop you're spinning and how many cells your lipo packs are, as I'm not overly convinced by the electric advise in the manual.

Also as there is limited space in the nacelles, have you got the batteries in the fuselage? If so did you extend the battery leads and have the esc's in the nacelles, or did you extend the motor wires and have the esc's in the fuselage.

Your assistance would be much appreciated and helpful.

How do you control the thrust of the four engines? does it matter if the thrust is not 100% equal?

A slow motion would make it look as the original :-)

Beautiful aircraft .... only trouble i seen tho is that the pilot keep sstoping and starting the motors this saps sooooo much power from the battery its unbelivable ..... if you set the motors to running at idle when taxing you would find the battery to last a few more minutes.

...And to scratch-build something like that can be expensive as well as time consuming; those electric motors along can run you 'bout $400-$700 a pops (depending on who and where you get them from)---and you would need four! And then the electrical craps that are required to get the motors spinning at certain RPMs is about $400-plus...The landing gears are retractable and they are custome made (probably by the builders)...about $30 of non-ferous metal materials!!!...SHE'S A BEAUTY, AIN'T SHE?!!!

As of this date (June 2010), there's no such model at that size for sale anywhere on the market; those guys probably scratch-built that Hercules and it probably took them months, even years from start to finish!!!

Yes indeed the sound would been perfect with 4strk engines, but this C-130 has 120+ Flights, as to compare there are very little ones that have flown Nitro, due to if one engine does shuts off it becomes a super unstable, but Bob's C-130 with electrics has been flawles!!!!

the sound would been perfect with turboprops, like the real one. but if your not going for a 100% copy the less trouble you have the better. and turboprops for RC planes are around 5k usd so a bit expensive also.

Cool model and overall good video, but some constructive criticism:

On take off it's very distracting to have to start at the beginning for each of the 3 shots you have. Once I figure out what is happening and where I'm looking the video changes again.

I think the rear-facing shot isn't very compelling, I think you could remove those from the video and be better off.

Again, I think this is really cool!
