I had the honor of being the travel planner for Spin City during it's move from L.A to the NYC Studio; and I can say with conviction that cast were some of the most genuine and nicest folks I've worked for. I was with them for three months, but it was three MEMORABLE months. :-)
My mom and I were the only ones in the house who watched this show religiously, when this episode aired, we both cried like there was no tomorrow. When Michael J. Fox runs out to hug the cast, it's so emotional, and the song is so fitting.
oh man, I just watched this clip and i couldn't finish it...... the other actors truly seem to be emotional, which must have made it even harder to leave them and the show,
Hes one of my favorite actors and I wish him well. He seems to be doing great though..he seems to have a happy family life and he advocates on behalf of Parkinsons. Man, I wish more actors were like him...I admire his strength even though Im sure at times its not so easy.
soo touching, i remember watching this on tv and i cried soo much.. it never went the same with charlie sheen! and you can see how the actors are sad too =/
the goodbye between carter and mike earlier in the episode ranks as one of the most touching scenes I have seen. two best friends saying goodbye, it really left me in tears.
I think connie had a hard time holding back the tears in this scene. You work with someome for so many years, you develop rapports with them, and when the very energy that keeps the show alive leaves, its a difficult adjustmemt
Man, that LAST shot of michael j fox is just...it's just sad. he looks so awesome but it's saddening at the same time...when he left in seasons 4, i didn't laugh at all in season 5 with charlie sheen. season 6 improved but not good enough
I love shows like Friends, That 70's show etc but i think the ending for this season beats any ending on any season of Friends. It's so emotional when Fox hugs everyone! He's such a great guy.
I was in 8th grade when Michael J. Fox gave us his farewell. I was in tears and still think that this is one of the most bittersweet endings in sitcom history.
for the show's sake, i agree. but fox didnt want it to end with his leaving. and apparently hes good friends with charly sheen so he was happy he took over
this clip is so sad tho :( ah well, i suppose we can go back and watch 4 seasons with him. thats something
Man, I was so sad when Michael J. Fox. left this show. He was so damn funny, especially his facial expressions. Charlie Sheen was even on Mike's level.
sorry accidently pushed the post comment button but anyway it's like he was never on the show.they basicly stabbed him in the back. when he left the show should've stop making episodes
You know, I think they should have done a spin off of this show instead of continuing it and replacing someone. I think that would have made more sense.
i cried when i watched this. when the show first started i went from "oh i can't wait to get home and watch spin city and see what funny and stupid things mike does today" then when he left because of his PD i still watched the show. then after watching 2 episodes with charlie sheen in it i was like "why bother if mike's gone". i think when mike left they should've ended the show. he was the main character. they tried to replace h
@fela7045 Alan Ruck and Michael J Fox didn't like each other? I thought MJF stood up for Alan to get the role of Bondek. Where'd you read/hear they had tension at the beginning?
No. Parkinson's disease does not "lighten up" - it's degenerative. This was before Charlie Sheen took MJF's place, and he never came back. Unfortunately.
I'm still posting episodes of Spin City. I don't want to post this episode yet until I get most of them up. To me it makes no sense to post Michael's goodbye, and then post another one with him in it.
He has Parkinson's disease. That illness gets worse throughout time. He decided when the time would come that he would set up his own foundation for Parkinson's research. He came back for a guest appearance since he didn't completely retire from acting.
By far the best episode of Spin City. Michael J. Fox is a role model for all ages. I grew up with this guy. One of my first movies was Back To The Future and as soon as the credits began to role, I knew I would see more of him. He is one of the best actors we have had in a while. I am VERY sad to see him leave the acting world especially when it is being taken over with Lidnsy Lohan and Brittany Spears and other whores and screw ups. Can somebody please post the full episode? It is a classic!
You weren't the only one crying. I litterally grew up with MJF. I have a neurological disability myself so I wasn't upset he has a disability. I was just mad-sad..etc he was leaving acting when the world is filling up with Brittney Spears and other hacks.
I was at this taping. What a great moment-quite emotional for everybody! Among the guests in the audience was Michael's wife, Cam Neely, and Heidi Klum. Best last episode ever!
i cryed when i found out he had parkinsons hes was such a great actor he was just one of them that would speek his mind whatever it was he didnt have to make something up to say! ohh and i herd that someone said he could have got parkinsons when he amd eLeo Amd Me cuz alot of people had it they said!
Well Michael thought very highly of the cast and he didn't want the cast and crew to be out of work so he kept executive producing but he let Charlie Sheen take over the show and they moved to LA. But I agree. Michael J. Fox was the true star of Spin City.
Totally. They needed to have gotten anybody else if attempting to replace Mike. Charlie's always given me the creeps--not at all what the show was supposed to be about.
