@Waynheadxbonbon I am sorry to hear that your Matcha tastes weird. Unfortunately I cannot judge the quality of your Matcha. Usucha is just one kind of Matcha. There are two kinds of matcha: usucha (which mean mild) and kocha (more intense). but this does nto say anythign about the quality of your tea. It might still be that you are using too much? And, i hope its not the case with you, but there are just some people who do not like the taste, as there are with every food..
@isenoocha thanks for the information. I've done some experimenting and I used too much. Now I know how much is ok and I really like the Matcha Latte now :)
I just bought matcha and it tastes so weird. Smells weird aswell. So I'm gonna try your recipes. If everyone loves it so much, howcome mine is so weird?
@Waynheadxbonbon It might jsut be you are not used to the taste or you just dont like it. Matcha's taste is most intense in drinks of course..and since you ve spent money on it now, what about trying baking or similar? it might have a more pleasent taste for you. Unfortunately I cannot say about the quality if I have not tried it myself...
I recently bought the gyokuro powder. 1 sip, and I felt like puking. No offense. My first time trying matcha dissolved in water. It's er... very neutral tasting.
@growingneeds Hey, that is quite strange. I have never seen Matcha made of gyokuro. Usually Matcha is made of Tencha. The problem for Matcha is also that you need to find perfect amount of matcha for your cup of water. If it is too little it taste strange and if it is too much, it will be bitter. Now that you have made bad experiences with gyokuro powder, it will be hard for me to convince you to try Tencha Matcha. But what about you try to prepare some of my recipes?
@isenoocha Thanks for the suggestions. I'm okay with matcha now. It turns out I had used too much matcha per cup previously. Thank you for your advice. The next time, I'll purchase tencha from your store.
Those whicks are called "milk frother". My one is from Severin. I think you can get it in almost every electronic store (usually close to coffe mashines or simular). I think also you can get it in household supply ( or kitchen) stores. There are very expensive ones too, but from my experience i can tell you, the cheap ones usually work as well:)
I tried this recipe and I still don't really like it. Mine says 'matcha usucha'.. is that a good kind? I don't know what 'usucha' means..
