  • I have an RCA 415, and I'm not impressed with the 400 series. I'm not a fan of spring belts, and the film gate isn't spring loaded, which makes running spliced film through this series difficult...as shone when the film pops up during play. I'd recommend a projector with a spring loaded film gate. The Eiki NT series are spring loaded and have great spare part availability. (I have an NT-1). The Viewlex 1600 is also a great projector (spring loaded) but parts are hard to find. (I also have one)

  • RCAs were great, I have a 400jr, which is similiar to the one in this video. I used it to show many films from the Seattle Public Library, which closed their collection over a decade ago. Now I just have a few films I've collected over time. This kid demonstrates how it works extremely well. (Although he does need to get a (real) metal take-up reel)!

  • yeah i should get a metal one, but at the time i could only find the plastic one on ebay which was the right size. Thanks!

  • I've always wanted to see an RCA 16mm projector...have read about them in books but have not seen one in action. I do have some Kodak Pageants and Bell and Howell 16mm projectors though.

  • Cool!
