I did this once and the cammra was 2 feet away from it`s position.I found it upside down and the glass was shaterd and i was wondering what tipe of train could make a cammra get dammeged like this.the train that did it was at 102 MPH. the cammra still works but the damages were wors than this comment says.so i tried it agin on the LongIlandRilroad.this time after the train past the cammra was in flames.

The general public should not be placing camera between the rails to make videos like this. The person placing the camera could fall or become caught by the rails and then be horribly maimed or killed after being hit by a train. Children see videos like this and think it is a neat thing to do. It's a very dangerous thing to do and nobody's life is worth a video.

@bramptonraised I agree, as a conductor myself, I would NOT be pleased watching some foamer putting a camera down in front of us. However, I tell myself that this guy put the camera out 5-10 minutes before the train was approaching and he edited out the 5 minute lead time! haha. Either way, great video, but NOT a good idea. Its an example why most railroaders dont like most railfans.

this is easy to do with damned near zero risk. Kneel beside the track reach out lay the camera. only your arm is over the track even if you pass out you will fall outside the tracks not inside.

I can tell you this. these videos have resulted in me decided to make my own this spring. I plan to shoot HD and also "high speed" would also love to do a 360 shot too.

Actually, yes they do go 70 MPH in a lot places, but they also go 79 MPH in a lot of places like the midwest and here they are making 79 MPH.
