I think the fact that CB focuses so much on having music as accompaniment, especially for storytelling (which I believe is also why they chose jazz as a theme), is the reason this fits so well. Bittersweet really is a symphonic piece in and of itself.

I don't know. I realize there isn't exactly a wide selection of non-combat scenes in Bebop, yet I don't see fight scenes as being a good choice for this song. (Except for the flashback scenes. Those fit well.) And the gearing-up scene from Bohemian Rhapsody is a lame choice for any video this side of Vic Bond's video off of the 007 theme remix.

I definitely seem to be in the minority in not liking this one. I just don't think that the scenes chosen fit the song well.

Blah, don't even bother arguing about it guys, you all know how much the anime industry love making alternate realities or time lines. take Clannad or Escaflowne for example, in fact Clannad at the end of the series had two alternate endings then the movie was different again, still not sure wtf happened there.

Spikes not dead? That's kinda shock to the system. Not that I want'ed Spike to die but that kind of ending seemed natural or unforced like in most media. Hero saves the day, kills hundreds, only suffers flesh wounds, gets the girl, and end of story. Side note I thought the movie took place during the series not after (timeing that is not produced).

I liked how they made the characters act in dire situations. Like when ed left for example. They didnt cry about it constantly unlike every other story you read when a character leaves. They just sat there not showing any emotion. But yet the show gave us hints that they where sad like the wind stick thingie they taped on the tip of the ship. And even though fae made a bit of a scene when spike left. It wasint over dramatic and over used. This anime is and always will be a master peace.

well technically, watanabe (the director) said that spike isn't definitely dead. (woo!) and in 2006, he said "someday, maybe someday" about continuing the series. i mean, i'm not asking for a whole season, maybe just another movie :)

The last episode where Spike died actually made me smile a bit, because I could finally rest knowing Spike was at rest,no more problems, no more worries. It's the way he wanted it to be, after all it was his second life.

If you pay attention, Spike's star went out as he collapsed. I have a firm belief he's dead, and I think that's how the story line should have ended. If they were to ever make a continuation to the series it would destroy it. We would all love more bebop, but those 26 episodes are amazing as they are.

just those last three episodes, they made me so sad. everyone slowly leaves. in the end, when faye begs spike to stay, it really crushed me. when she did that, you just know spike's not coming back.

I think I love this anime so much because it just focuses on the characters and them doing everything they can to get what they want...nobody's exactly doing the RIGHT thing, they're just settling things from their past. there's not exact good guy, there's just a group of people that it focuses on that isnt chasing some dream or defeating some evil villain for the greater good like most animes..it's just them being them.
