Phekwig thank you for noticing these details, this was very fun for me. I was inspired by a new British series that goes back to 1981 and they had a DeLorean for one episode. So getting that DeLorean in the shot was pure luck, I just happened to be driving around and I was thrilled :)
I appreciate that Paul! The tune is 1976 by RJD2. You should check out JohnnySmooth's comment down below, it was one of those surreal moments. And travel and events, well ... traveling back in time you see? Ok.. ok.. I'm stretching it there ;)
Cat, thanks! I wanted to tell you that I've always wanted to have that "film" look when rendering. I've now discovered that Film cameras shoot at 24.00 fps, while NTSC shoots at 30fps giving that reality TV look. But PAL shoots at 25 fps. My software easily converts to 24p, which is actually 23.976 fps. This creates the cadence of film, where during the process 6 frames/12 half-frames per second are removed from the stream. Got lucky and it was brilliant for what I was looking for :) Looks old.
Thanks man. BTW I'm not sure why it took me so long to subscribe. I guess we just traveled in slightly different YT circles. You have some very original vids, and seem like a genuine guy.
Thank you very much for those kinds words. It's been an enjoyable run so far for me here on the Tubes since 2006. Still fun for me to come up with whatever madness goes through my head. And I am humbled by your sub.
Maybe you should check out the inside of your tape deck. Maybe there's a little cute animal, it's feeling good inside and kicks the cassette out every time you try to insert it!
LOL. I knew a guy who used to put a real phone in his car and act like he had a car phone, then cruise down the beach with the handset to his ear so he could impress the girls. HAHAAA! What a dork!
Hey! We used to have beepers (pagers) and used to leave the group, throw a quarter in a public phone, beep ourselves, then casually integrate back into the group ... and suddenly, we'd get beeped, looking all important to the girls ;) Sadly I can relate.
"Pure Resurrection of Cool", I like that one J! ... Coming from a man that combines music with video effortlessly and brilliantly, I appreciate your words.
You could put one hell of a sound system in that big ass prime american automobile. This makes me want to play some old cassettes! I like this real life style, its like peeking right into a JR day. Nice work mister!!!
Actually, I was trying for a peek into the day of Philips executive in the year the CD format was created 1979-80... I'm sure they didn't drink vodka straight from the bottle lol. And I'm thinking about putting a whole PC with monitors and mouse in that car :)
Damm John. I loved the music in this, it was very 70's reminiscent or a Tarantino soundtrack. Secondly, this film explains it all for me, now I understand the creation of the compact disc. Duran Duran needed to get broken anyway, don't fret. 911 ain't a joke so said Flava Flav
I was thinking very 70's throughout this whole vid, even down to the colors, and now that you said Tarantino, that's the ultimate compliment Furnilicious! You got exactly the angle I was "trying" to go for :)
Ha ha! Brilliant stuff. I knew that CDs were really created with the center chunk of vinyl records! You have solved a great mystery for us all. Thank you Mr. Reagan, you are in a class all your own.
haha LeSa ... thanks and yes, for what that car consumes on gas, I might as well use it as a rolling YouTube prop, but I can't lie, that's why I bought it in the first place ;)

Man, as soon as I saw "1980" I knew I had to hit pause, call my herbalist, my attorney, my publicist and go outside and smoke a Camel straight.
