A very smart guy, but I doubt he's ever managed a repair shop. I managed a shop in los angeles and can tell you I learned a few things along the way. It's a lot of work to run a small shop so you'll need help. It's not easy to find good honest people. I made all my help bring in their own tools. you need to test all units before the customer comes to pick up...ensure all screws are in place, customers notice these things, just one screw missing and it's makes you look bad.

I have started my home business. Windows Office Live for small business has alot of help.

I charge on a per task basis. I also throw alot of stuff on top as a bonus. Like wiping down the case, leaving myself on the contacts (Vista) so they can find me easy, and I do follow up calls to make sure the PC is still working like it should.

That is so true to use the best parts. There is only one way to repair something and that is the right way. LOL Just wait till you work for someone. The place I work now, among desktops and notebooks , about 200 printers, they act like the printers should never need parts, like fusers and feed rollers. I go home with a headache over this.
