@BasilGirlGillyRox Clifford belonged to a society that fell in love with the idea of love & family, but he really didn't respect her feelings or put any effort into accommodating her physical needs .. within his restrictions .. and that would have been the true measure of his "love" for her. As he says in the scene talking about the child possibly being a girl, he wants to "worship her", as he does Connie .. but she knows that real people don't want to be "worshiped" in relationships!
