Winterface is one of many, many UI skins that HTC/WinMo phones can use. It's far more customizable than using Winterboard, which is basically skinning your grid of icons to look like a different grid of icons. Nice, but nowhere near the customizations that HTC phones can have.

The Touch HD has about 50% longer battery life than the iPhone (that's 1.5 times the battery life of the iPhone).

It doesn't matter whether you use Edge, 3G or WiFi, the HD will always last much longer.

And for the one thing that the iPhone can't do:

It can't be used as USB storage.

It can't transfer files via Bluetooth.

It can't be customized UI-wise.

It can't be used as WiFi hotspot.

It can't...

Frend has no laptop or PC so his watching Youtube, playing Travian, etc. So his not just browsing, his also watching videos, listen to music,...

And one more thing... iPhone can't run Linux xD

The iPhone does have wireless tethering, so you're wrong about that. You can customize the UI with a jailbroken phone, in fact, there's so many customizable theme's, it's crazy. The fluidity and the smoothness on the iPhone is one of a kind. The multitouch and pinch zoom is smoother then any other phone (only the Palm Pre compares) and the Apps are one of a kind. There's an app for everything you just said the iPhone can't do, so I would look into it before making assumptions.

Only problem is, a lot of people don't want to jailbreak their phones for security and warranty reasons. Also, keep in mind, this video was made before Winmo 6.5 was out, so he was running 6.0/6.1 which is notorious for being "boring." Anyways, nobody seems to realize this, but there's also an app for everything for HTC devices.. in fact, there are multiple versions of one app, which makes it all the more fun to customize.

Plus, updating your entire OS is pretty damn cool.

I agree. Besides, the multitouch thing of iphone is not a good thing because you need 2 hands, one hand to hold the iphone, and 2 fingers from the other hand to zoom in or out. On my HTC 3G, all I need is one hand to hold the phone and zoom in and out by poking the screen with a thumb ,from the same hand.

You can get an iPhone-like interface on the HD, but you can NOT get alle the great features of the HD onto an iPhone.

However, I'm not using this anymore. I now have an HTC HD2 which is much faster than the old HD and comes with a much nicer UI out of the box that's even better than the iPhone's.

No need for any more tweaking there, it's better than the iPhone in every respect, without the need for tweaking the UI.

I have HTC Touch HD and I love it!

Frend of mine has iPhone 32GB with mobile internet access - and its pricy as hell here in Croatia. 83Euros for 5GB !

The iPhone is more user frendy but hTC is a PPC, not a fency toy what iPhone realy is.

Anyway iPhones battery with mobile internet access lasts (get this) 3h max, while my hTC runs over 6h!

Plus hTC has removeble battery and a miniUSB connector.

Imho: iPhone is for chicks and kids, while hTC is for serious working ppl.

i agree that the Touch is able to multitask. however, it doesnt handle more than one thing at a time without becoming very unstable and generally freezing. not to mention, battery life suffers greatly when trying to use the Touch as more than just a phone.

Strange... mine runs at least 5 and up to 15 apps at once all the time, and it actually almost never freezes.

I had to restart it once in the last 3 weeks and my iPhone also froze at least once in 2 weeks.

Battery life on the HD is still far better than on the iPhone, even with 10 applications running and connected in the background all the time (including palringo, ms exchange....).

Why is every new WM phone called an "iPhone killer" when it is nothing more than an attempt to copy the iPhones UI but with WM.

I used to be a big WM and HTC fan, but after a few times with the iPhone, I was hooked. Just the touch screen of the iPhone is enough to make you wanna toss out the HTC.

I had an iPhone 3G for some months but the Touch HD definitely killed it.

Yeah...there is a reason: The little Apple on the back of every iPhone and the people who are blinded by this apple. If you converted to an iPhone-fan, it seems to be better 4 you. But many iPhone-fans don't even try other phones or even inform about the functions bevore they buy it. Depends on how advanced you are, if you know how to use a WM phone then definetly go for the HTC touch HD. If your not so good with technical things go for the Iphone. They're both good!

Right now, I'd choose the HTC Touch HD because it's got up-to-date technology like a 5mpix autofocus camera, a higher res screen and, most important, 50% longer battery life. I hate my iPhone for letting me down all the time because the battery lasts not even one day.

My Touch HD couldn't sync with the built in Live service so I'm using the java version of ebuddy for instant messaging. It's free and works great. Get it at ebuddy(dot)com. I couldn't find a Touch HD version so I picked the Diamond version which works fine although the buttons are very small.

The package is English, Winterface supports lots of different languages.

You won't need the stylus at all, at least I never used it.

There are lots of Windows Mobile games (I think even more than for the iPhone) but not all games will work because this phone doesn't have a D-Pad.

Here you can see some games and Morphgear, which is an emulator that runs any (Super) Nintendo, GameBoy (Color/Advance) and SEGA games, so can play a huge number of games on Windows Mobile:

The virtual gamepad in Morphgear is only single-touch but you can use the volume buttons in addition, that works fine!

Also, you can play almost any game using the G-Sensor (Accelerometer) with GPad, which is currently in development.
