You have to turn pvp on manually and there are no death penalties for being pk'd...no wars....no territory gains....best game I've ever played anyway, I just wish the pvp was better.

@bolmung Yeah I'll have to agree. Thankfully the battle system actually requires strategy to fight, and PVP is enabled by default. I like that if you join Elves or Giants, you're free to attack any other Elf or Giant you see (depending on which you are. That makes you just as vulnerable) and vice versa for humans who've formed alliances.

So that makes up for the shitty PVP system in my opinion.

Amazing game anyway....just avoid the Mabinogi wiki :P

Makes the game a lot less fun...leaves no room at all for exploration.

@bolmung lol yeah, I stay away from the mabinogi wiki. I spent 5 days exploring an area once, and it felt like I just discovered like...a complete new world where overpowered shit won't kill me on the spot.

@bolmung Actually, looking back on it, it's got some nice features. It actually tests skill instead of strength.

PVP automatically adjusts the handicap to even out both players regardless of strength and level, to fight on an even ground where both stand as much a chance as the next. Then it just comes down to skill.

@Raivu42 Not true >.< Even turning damage down to "0%" won't balance the HP. You'll both hit 1 dmg....but one of you may have 1,000 HP, while the other has 70 HP.

And, of course, while you can do pretty much anything( if not literally anything) with enough skill, ranks are still important. Most spells and skills load faster, have more range, AOE range, etc.

Then there's equipment......passive defenses, enchants, upgraded weapon stats, ego weapons, etc.

@bolmung I know it doesn't balance HP, but it does balance the damage you do which doesn't completely overpower anyone.
