I noticed that you are from the U.S, but i wonder if going with the H.C.P.T, a UK based charity, would be viable. I've been going with this group for five years now and have stayed with the group at a place called Hosanna House, about 4 miles from the Grotto by bus.
I am really sorry but I don't know the H.C.P.T. but when you have been traveling with this group for 5 years you have at least some experience with them. Before our children were married we traveled there with the family. Now I travel mostly alone. I think 4 miles is a little far away but most likely cheaper than in town which can be sometimes pricey. It is a beautiful place and I hope you make the trip soon.
I would so love to go and be a helper. An email at working asking for helpers but it will cost nearly £1000 pound for 5 days that shared accommodation and other costs. I would sleep in a tent! ha, Think it would be an experience of a life time and helping others, that's the main thing for me, plus have to admit the experience, will have to see if can afford! They offer themselves for the service and that way the costs are way down. I hope you succeed and don't forget you have a powerful intercessor Up High!

I've been to Lourdes on a Pilgrimage 4 times, though i'm not Catholic, all faiths are warmly welcomed. It's definately one of the highlights of the year. Peace.
Our Lady of Lourdes, Mother of God, is the patroness of many things, by example she is patroness of the Americas, patroness of Australia but in Lourdes of course she the patroness of the sick. Just before He died God gave His mother to us who was standing at the foot of the cross. So she is a very special and most powerful intercessor.
lourdes is like no other place on earth..its impossible to make a documentary on it because no one can actually know what its like unless they are there...i was there onlt last week and i didnt want to leave!!

I felt I experience some healing here coz I did stand up at an open mic and since then have done it twice more at Lourdes 3 times at the college showcase and a homeless party and feel I am not shy anymore.

Lourdes effects you, whether you want it or not. I went last June and it touched me immensely. Even if you don't believe in what Bernadette saw, the fact that so many people come together to pray, worship, and sing, is powerful enough to make you believe!
