  • Comment removed

  • Michael sang it better......just my opinion.

  • Yes Mr. Mathis Yes!!!

  • Que voz perfeita!!! Amoooooo!!!!!!!!!!

  • no i will never agree with some lifestyles but i love this man and his voice and his music maybe some people were meant to be this way not cause they born that way but because at times we need to distinguish love from hate and i cant hate this man maybe like yoiu hate your children ways sometimes but not the child sorry hardcore and all i love Johnny Mathis as the singer I dont have to and dont want to personalize him beyond that Im sure he is a good person and i dont know nothing cept he sings

  • My favourite singer of all times.

  • He did a fantastic job. His voice is beautiful.

  • why do we have to get old and lose our looks. he does not resemble this gorgeous face.......I know he is an old man, but???????

  • @35777 He's still a handsome man..

  • @TruthSerum101 Oh ya I agree he is still handsom at 76........but he was breathtaking when he was in his late 30's early 40's... so wasn't I..lol......things fall after a while...lol

  • What better than Johny Mathis' beautiful voice to sing to us the words which are in the heart of the One who has always loved us, reminding us that He never abandoned us. The World has arrived at that "One Day in Our Lives," when all about us, that which we believed to be real, is disintegrating before our eyes. Listen to the words of Who it was Who first loved you and "when things fall apart" you'll remember to call His name, and He'll be there.

  • I want that tie and kerchief for my wardrobe. great singer and song.

  • incredible and timeless and beautiful!

  • The lyrics to this song are absolutely profound, as untold scores of people, who hold enduring memories of long past relationships, can relate to their meaning.

  • cute cute cute !!!

  • Johnny is THE interpreter of great love songs.

  • deep, awesome...

  • I've been in love with Johnny Mathis since my childhood, when my father used to play his records.

What a wonderful voice! What a classy man!

  • can't even express what this song does to me!

  • Johnny is classic. I don't know him but I sense he is one of life's nicest people.

  • I just don't think there will ever be or has been another voice like this.....Just incredible and so beautiful.

  • nice version by johny mathis.

  • I I know Johnny Mathis since more than 50 years and still one of my favourites

  • I miss Johnny Carson, he had class, and he did admire Johnny, mmmm who wouldn't.....love you Johnny...:>)

  • Simplesmente fenomenal.

  • @35777 Clifton Davis and Elvis were very handsome men so KeesusChrist gave him a compliment even though he/she tried to be mean

  • @35777 not on the Johnny Carson show

    Adoroooooooooo

  • @maritemaria É O MAIOR DE TODOS OS TEMPOS NADA SE COMPARA NEM DE LONGE kkkk

  • Thanks for add this precious song! Emoke.

  • In a song, there are always those critical moments when you always expect the singer to go out of tune, but when it comes to Johnny Mathis, this is just impossible!

A mesmerizing voice on a lovely tune.

  • Thank you Johnny Mathis

  • this is from a time where singers had strong voices and talent: Elvis, Jones, Humperdink, Mathis, Como, Andy Willians, Sinatra, B.J.Thomas Today singers don't sing, they talk on those stupid hip hop!

  • Magnificent!

Obrigado Jonny!!

  • Chances Are there will never be another Johnny Mathis.

    perfect pitch - perfect singer

  • WOW!

  • Who was Michael Jackson?...ahhhhhhh...yes...I can remember: a pedophile...

  • @MMacabruSS And don't forget the King Of Pop!

  • He simply had the smoothest (possibly lengthiest) sustain I've ever heard on notes...pitch just spot ON!

  • johnny there is nobody like you i LOVE you was lucky to meet you

  • Great voice! One of the last great male singers still alive.

  • Been a fan of Johnnys since 1958 and have enjoyed all his music since.. seen him in concert 4 times and each time i just sit and spellfast..... best male singer of songs ever.

  • Altho the orchestra is not visible, I remember this show well, as my dad was the pianist unseen. I was a very proud 12 year-old!!!

  • although years have passed, johnny has a voice that is compared to no one for love songs

  • Perfection. I wish I was half the singer JM is.

  • my god.....what a beautifully sung song....michael jackson did a good job on this, also..

  • @smush48 ~ Are you kidding????? MJ could never touch Johnny Mathis.

  • what a wonderful voice, what a wonderful singer!

    from ênio Cesar

  • Beautiful song, beautiful performance.

  • i love . music wanderfull!

  • I just love each and every song he sings, johnny mathis is the greatest romantic singer

  • JM on JC a class act from the 70's

  • lets not argue. they both sang it better. only different genre.

  • i agree micheal jackson sang this better

  • MICHAEL JACSON SANG IT BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @NJPUNISHER10 yes

  • I saw Johnny at the old Circle Star in San Carlos, California years ago. His suit looks familiar. He brought the house down.

  • This fantastic voice, this craft, this beautiful song, this elegance. Can anything beat this? Johnny Mathis, my lifes favourite singer. Thanks. Berit

  • Even today he has a fantastic voice and puts on a great show.

  • coley369 Michael Jackson could not touch this arrangement. JM always excelled with the Tonight Show Band behind him.

  • this is a tearjerker..always good for a cry! love it and him. Can you imagine the great entertainment Johnny Carson used to have? Nothing like it exists today. sad!

  • this is a tearjerker..always good for a cry! love it and him.

  • maravillos y old tema

  • no one can sing like Johnny Mathis. It doesn't matter what the song is it's always magic. So pure, clear like honey dripping from ahoneycomb....like liquid velvet...like chocolate truffles that melt in your mouth...ok that's enough...you get the picture...LOL...

  • Thinks about it... There are several birds that have feathers, some with only one color tone, other tones to multicolored ones with a kind of soft song and others with a kind of corner posted, about a mento a woman, others of a boy to a girl, is a Johnny Mattis and the other is Michael Jackson, boht wonderful in their very own style, fortunately we have the power of choice, I choose both. One day in our lives, these two gave us such best wines! Here in Brazil, we offer to everyone. Special J. M.

  • very good but cant touch michael jacksons version. no1 can!

  • i love you !!!! very nice voice!!!

  • I have both pedals. It's a flanger, no doubt.

If you remember the seventies, you weren't there.

  • @telecaster1963

i have both pedals too, but its kinda sounding like something from machine gun or voodoo chile, its very trebly, my vote is a wah, as im pretty sure i can hear the tone changing but not in an exact pattern like a flanger but like a foot is somehow mysteriously controlling it hehehe, my flanger is just a switch with dials, unliek a conventional wah :O(

  • @paranorma1palace By the way , The 1970's Tvcobrahe Pedal Flanger could be controlled by foot. There are some videos available on YouTube of its reissue made by Chicago Iron.

  • @telecaster1963

lets go for flanged wah :)

  • hae johnny mathis vc e milllllllllll vzsmillllllll!

  • Comment removed

  • Beautiful, although the guitar man and his flanger pedal almost spoiled the intro.

  • @telecaster1963

i think it was a wah, but its 76 hey

  • Greatest singer of this lifetime..simply stated!

  • very nice song and voice

  • oh ... johnny the one voice's ,,,

  • Fantastic.....you remind me all the time my Dad....he loves yr voice, and I grew up with yr songs..........Nice memories that will never come back, but they will stay in my <3 & my mind!!!Tks Johnny!!!!! U r GREAT!!!!

  • Bellissimo !!!

  • OUTSTANDING!!! Love Johnny!!!

  • I like both versions. Two different voices, two different singing styles.

  • How many singers nowadays would be able to simply sit on a stool and captivate the audience with just their voice like this...

  • Another song I'm hearing him sing for the first time.Thank you.

  • thyough u dont need me now...i will dtsy in ur heart...im just here gg...

  • mj's better!

  • JM's is a male voice

  • Y'all cant compare this guy with MJ! Cuz MJ really means every word. He puts a real feelings! A feeling that's made for this song! He found them!

  • Where was this song?. . . when I needed it in the 60's - 70's?. . to express my Rude Awakening to a Long time 'First' and Only at the time..! Johnny was around, but not yet in my choice's of singer's nor t h a t popular at the time! Long time after, He 'IS' and will 'never' be forgotten in my future year's. Hawaii, 1992, only 'cassette's' we took, second time going to Hawaii, and My 'Amore' proposed then. Thank you 19rebel57, Most of Johnny's song's are carved in my heart.

  • OH MY GOD!!!!! Fantastic voice!!!!! Beautiful song forever!!!!!!!! Perfect this video!!!!!!

  • Crooners..? Mathis is the man!!Superb! Cool post.

  • :,( sniff ......thanks for posting this, like Johnny Mathis, ♥ this song even though it's too sad.

  • Yes, Michael Jackson's version of this song is wonderful. What makes Mathis' version sublime is that he's singing a love song about the love that got away from the perspective of a grown man. MJ's innocence is indeed charming as he sings this song; however; JM's rendering of this song is heart rending.

  • Not even close to MJ

  • @weedman6926 - sorry but Johnny Mathis as a vocalist is so far superior to MJ there is simply no comparison. MJ's version is sweet, but the passion that Johnny puts into his music is unsurpassed.

  • How seven people can dislike this is amazing. The best rendition ever!!

  • Very well sang but the smoothness in Michael Jackson makes it unique and perfect.

  • Fantastic!!!!

  • :O !!!

  • Grandioso Johnny Mathis.........bellissima voce!!!

  • Even though i'm 19 i found out classic songs are beautiful

  • Hi, does anyone know where I can get the cd of this song for my Mother-in-Law's funeral as think this is a lovely song and she loved him.... need quite urgently if anyone can help.

  • @Magsbabe2009 download from ares

  • they're both great singers..with different type of voices

but to me Michael Jackson made the song so beautiful....he sounds angelic there..

it feels more peaceful..at the same time leaves me with a strange feeling.. hard to explain

  • @shanavalli

I agree with you 100%!! I like Johnny`s version though. MJ rocked that song!

  • a year ago i listend "summer breeze" by Johnny Mathis here on youtube... then i wanted it again... and there was no video... no ares... nothing Y_Y can anyone help me ? U_U

  • @Wiljopin summer breeze by Johnny Mathis is back in youtube.

  • Thanks for your efforts nice job

  • Super cool singer!!W

  • I LOVE this song. Idk y but it brings tears to my eyes. The song is melancholy but the lyrics are almost hopeful. it's a strange feeling when i hear this song.

  • He did a great job but, I will always love Mike's version.

I grew up listening to Mike's version and that is my favorite.

  • He's the best singer ever.

  • OMG dude!

  • Simply awesome....best version ever heard of this song!!

  • Michael Jackson's voice being compared to Johnny Mathis'? No offence intended, I liked Michael, but he's just not in the same class. Johnny is a legend and his music will live forever.

  • PERFECT

  • Yes Johnny Mathis's version of this song is superior to Michael Jackson's because Mathis has the better voice-by far. M.J. can out dance Mathis -but he absolutely can't out sing him. No way.

  • johnny mathis is active ^_^ i search for wikipedia he's now 74 yrs old

michael i always admire your voices when you are singing sad songs it' makes me inspire RIP MJ

  • Seriously ... can you say this version is better than Michael's? I don't think so ....

  • Noone said a thing about it being better. read a little closer and you'll see that.

  • This tune's a great showcase for Mr. Mathis's vocal greatness. Michael Jackson also covered this tune and his spin on it only made the tune more beautiful. These two men are the only ones that I know of that could actually sing the song with any flavor. Seen others TRY, but not quite pull it off or just maul the tune like a bear with bacon.

  • @marysman1960 I think so too.

  • Thanks Trinity. As far as I'm concerned those two men sang the song the best. Such beauty and technique.

  • Just perfect! I love this song and I love both Michael Jackson and Johnny Mathis! Each one have a fantastic voice and God bless both!

  • Beautiful! he gives another soul in this song..MJ and JM, they are both awasome!!

  • @ satanknight14: "This guy's accent is sickening..."??? This guy, Johnny Mathis? WHAT accent? He has NO accent! Michael Jackson couldn't hold a candle to the vocal abilities of the legendary Johnny Mathis. And Mathis' voice is still superb, in his 70s, because he hasn't squandered his life and God-given gifts on self-indulgent and erratic misbehavior. Johnny, like Barbra, appreciates his voice and audience, and values his life; taking good care of them, unlike Jocko, and Witless Useless.

  • @edwardjames50

Your comments concerning Mr. Michael Jackson were just too disrespectful. I came on to enjoy this version as I enjoy both. Both men are incredible talents, why did you feel the need to disrespect a great artist like Michael Jackson just because he sang the same song as Johnny Mathis. That is beyond petty.

Mj never squandered his gift, he shared it with the world for his entire life.

No one is perfect, Mr. Mathis has been to rehab. We are all human. Show some damn respect.

  • NO ONE can sing a song and make it his own the way Johnny can. Johnny Carson was a big fan of JM's and had him on the show quite often (I always caught those shows) - Johnny is without a doubt the finest singer of our time....bar none

  • @flagday45 ~ And when I hear him sing this I always cry.....

  • @flagday45 he sings it great! But i love MJ's version also. But i wonder how Michael jackson would have done around thriller time. He would sing it better then when he was young

  • OMG I love his voice!

  • Wow! I like both versions, I think! This was great!

  • I love michael jackson's version.

  • I love both his and michael jackson's versions

  • What a great great voice,wonderfull,no words to describe,blessed voice,the best

  • I have been blessed to have someone that from the time we were 13 & 14 and that was was true Love back then. We have found each other again, At the time we needed each other. We needed each other at this time even if we have other lives,

    Thanks Johnny for caribg,

  • Outstanding !!! no one does it as good as Johnny Mathis

  • Wow, I grew up listening to Johnny Mathis albums my older sisters would play...what a voice and performer.

  • i didnt like the start but its good :) Howewer im used to the version sang by Michael Jackson and i like how soft he is singing it Its more realxing and i feel i want to cry :)

  • beautiful version, beautiful singer

  • you make it sound like he's dead!

  • It's good but not near as good as Michael Jackson.

  • michael was a great singer, but no one can

get the range johnny mathis can. go ahead and

check all these so called singers ranges on

    on holding a note.

  • @blaze2cody Not to downplay Mathis' incredible range, but his key of this song is different to Michael's... it's lower

  • @blaze2cody michael could hold a note and range them far , he only chose certain songs to do so , listen to songs like " you are not alone" and the only thing i dont like about this guy is his accent its sickening but his voice is great :)

  • Theres no comparison between both of these legends, because both of them have they're own accomplished singing styles.

  • mjs touch to a song will give a class of its own..

    smokey robinson admitted it

  • vibrating... :)

  • Wow! Great vocals from the Legend. JM sang it more10x powerfully than MJ but MJ's version is more melancholic that can reduce you to tears... ;-(

Lyrics of this song suits MJ's style better

  • Mj's was very good but doesn't have the power or phrasing of JM, MJ can't hold the notes or diction of this legend....JM is the greatest love song singer in the last 50 years, BAR NONE...

  • He Cuts It SHORT BUT HE DOESN'T HAVE THE MAGIC THAT MICHAEL HAS BUT ALL IN ALL HE SINGS REALLY REALLY GOOD

  • magic times...

  • WoW I love

  • Michael Jackson has done the best version of this song! He has the touch of sparkle that he can only do!

  • I like Michael Jackson's version better. He released his in 1975. Not sure if he's the original artist, but that's the only version I've known until I came across this.

  • WoW such a beautifull voice damn!
