I have it on full distance, but with a weather/fog mod, the view is not often infinite because of the weather. It makes the days when the weather is clear all the more spectacular!
Nice, but I feel that you get too much info onscreen using this mod, using just double the maximum view distance seems to be closer to what had been intended.
Precisely. I use MGE to double the view distance, which combined with the distant blur makes Morrowind still look and feel like Morrowind, but much more nice. Infinite view distance doesn't fit in Morrowind.
this looks incredible with the fake HDR and bloom as well. but very laggy. if only this game had completely updated animations, meshes & textures, it would beat Oblivion in all aspects.
Actually, DarkRadeon obviously has NO IDEA what he is talking about. You DO need Bloodmoon and a DX9 class gpu, although if you don't have a DX9 gpu you probably don't have a powerful enough gpu to even bother with MGE.
well My computer can handle most games at full graphics without lagg. I just wondered if I had to install my expansion packs. Cuz you see I don't wan't to install them until I've finished original morrowind. Ah well. Thx anyways
Cool. What settings did you use for the statics. I've been trying to find the perfect settings so small parts of walls or buildings won't show up, but I also want to avoid a serious fps decrease
I really dont like some of the mods for the water, it looks like oil ... I prefer the more "normal" transparent water. But balmora look nice with MGE.
I always did like the immensity and diversity of Morrowind, but the fog did a lot to take that away. The Infinite View Distance mod took the fog away, but the fact that various objects in the game was invisible depending on your distance once again took away from the splendor.
With the IVD mod and distant statics enabled....magnificent!
Im ok with morrowind's fog, as long as I have mw_fps_opt so I can extend the view distance by 50, but it has to be just right cuz if u extend it to far you can see the new squares (or cells) of land come out of nowhere which takes away from the realism
Actually I've had no problems at all with MGE & I have only done minor tweaking.
The reflective water is not buggy!
90% of all problems people have with MGE, is from failure to follow the "simple" instructions the requirements are clearly spelled out & easy to understand.
Then after not being smart enough to get it to work a lot of them get online & post that MGE is buggy & doesn't work when in fact its stable & easy to use.
@tuffnutts For the most part that is true. But Vista really doesnt work with mge. I've used mge on windows 7 and vista. Windows 7 works fine, windows vista doesnt. I've found this to be true on 5 diferant computers. So its not just mine that doesnt work. :P
Yeah, and even then you have to tweak it a ton to make it not look like ass. I eventually just said fuck it and decided to enjoy my fog. Also, reflective water is buggy as hell, but if you disable it it fucks around with your water pixel shaders (ripple effect, etc), which is supremely annoying.
MGE is even better now with animated grass and water reflections!

When I use this or even if I have it installed, when I start up morrowind it is like a mess of textures everywhere. Why is this?

That is pretty impressive.
Will it Run on,
Intel core duo 2meg cache,
3gig DDR2 RAM and
512mb NVIDIA?

I would think so ... the system this video was captured on is half the spec of yours.

Argh I can't seem to find anything on enabling distant statics so when I look at vivec from a distance its just water and the foundation.

I seriously hope my PC can handle it next time I *do* follow the simple instructions... I think it's just because of my outdated PC :D
